I worked with pencil and mostly 'blind' (without looking)...then filled in my lines with ink, filling in other spaces and connecting lines. My work table this morning with yesterday's roses. Lots of water, gouache on card prepared with acrylic matte gel for texture. #daisyyellowart
I figured I might as well do something with this sketch. It was originally supposed to be entered into PUDDLE's contest uh.... in 2011. I kind of didn't have time to finish it.
I have no idea what direction I'm going for. o_o; I need to learn to plan before I start inking. I'm so impatient. >_<;
Like many other artists, one of my biggest dreams is to make a full-length comic! I do have a comic in progess, but it's been incomplete for .... er, three years? Oww.
Thus my New Year's resolution is to get to work with the comic, and make at least two more chapters!!

Result of day two of the Botanical Drawing Workshop at Teylers Museum in Haarlem. We had a great teacher in Margriet Honingh (margriethoningh.nl). First time I tried to do precise work in watercolour, and definitely not quite finished... This a a slow and meticulous process. I'm told it gets better.
This drawing fills most of a 22x30" piece of paper and is done with graphite. It is a study for a painting inspired by Hibiki one of our flickr contacts.
The interior of the elegant Chowmahalla palace.
Chowmahalla Palace or Chowmahallatuu (4 Palaces), is a palace of the Nizams of Hyderabad state. It was the seat of the Asaf Jahi dynasty and was the official residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad while they ruled their state. The palace remains the property of Barkat Ali Khan Mukarram Jah, heir of the Nizams.
In Urdu, Hindi Char means four, and even in Persian, Chahar means four and in Urdu and Hindi Mahal means palaces, hence the name Chowmahalla/four palaces.
The palace is located in the old city in Hyderabad near the Charminar
All ceremonial functions including the accession of the Nizams and receptions for the Governor-General were held at this palace.
The prestigious UNESCO Asia Pacific Merit award for cultural heritage conservation was presented to Chowmahalla Palace on 15 March 2010. UNESCO representative Takahiko Makino formally handed over the plaque and certificate to Princess Esra, former wife and GPA holder of Prince Mukarram Jah Bahadur
