This drawing was done for my elective on the Year One Fine Art Degree course at University of Cumbria. It was done during one of our sessions in the life drawing room with our life model Wilf. I begun by covering the page in charcoal, giving the page a base, to knock back the white and so i could work into it. I used a rubber and the charcaol then to bring back the while using these as hightlights, and adding in more tone using the charcoal for depth. The more i look at this piece, the more i being to like it.
I had to start some place. Funny thing I'm not wild about this drawing and yet it's the most viewed. Go figure.
Maybe they think it will look better with a closer look.
Test of Graphitint pencils lightly touched with water--greens and grays--a blue and a brick on a Pigma pen drawing. The shading on the white wall at the left is an artifact of the scanning. I should add something to this (more of the walk, a fence, a wrought iron grating?).
both of the pieces of work in the background belong to Pese93, as does the stray arm. This is a drawing of his current piece, it wasn't finished wnen i went by.

Testing our pencils and pens, and getting ready for week one of summer camp with Carla Sonheim: Imaginary Creatures. Beside working our playful imaginations, we're actually going to learn a thing or two about drawing. This test worksheet was drawn on a photo of sidewalk cracks.
