If you are ever in Milan go to the Church of St. Bernardino of the Bones, which is a few minutes walk from the Duomo. The small chapel is full of skulls and bones. Its quite an experience.

The Octagon Drawing Room. An exercise in opulence!

I had no time or opportunity to catch a decent shot of a live bird this week, but I did have time to sketch this little guy today at work. : )

 

For 52 Weeks of Pix: It's bird week!

I started this colored pencil drawing of Benji many years ago. I hate the background but recently forced myself to finish it the way it is. It doesn't matter if it's not perfect, it's more about me actually doing something that I enjoy in these later years of my life. 10"x8" on Strathmore Bristol Board, Prismacolor and Polychromos pencils.

Aline Thomassen - Shape of the Heart. An exhibition in Kunstmuseum The Hague NL. Dutch artist Aline Thomassen lives and works between the Netherlands and Morocco. Her work explores the many ways in which Moroccan women experience and express their identity.
