Oil pastel drawing - 56 x 40 inches - title: "DeGraff Daily News" - completed August 2010.
Drawing from historic photograph of four men in interior of gas station in DeGraff, MN
A small urge to draw a Taiora sketch. Sadly I don't feel comfortable with TaichixSora any longer so he feels a bit uncomfy too. ^^;;; I still need to practice bodies and stuff, but some random stuff I've been working on. ^__^;
Recently I came across an innovated form of art called Zentangle.
Among other things Zentangle is a meditative practice recommended for relaxation and for stress relief . Rather like a doodle the emphasis is on relaxing and allowing the patterns to form with out too much contrivance. Usually rendered in black ink after a while I tended to prefer the addition of coloured pencils. Here is one of my attempts at Zantangles or art work inspired by Zentangles.

An entry point. A beauty we hunger for. Here is contentment, Sabbath rest. Someone has called, said a word, and the eyes are alert, the mouth responding, the ear listening. A light shining on the cheek and the fabric, an envelope. We are in peace.

About "The Redeemer Project" - In November of 2017 I received an invitation from Bethany Kenyon of Redeemer University College in Ontario, Canada to participate in a two-person exhibition. My initial thought was to show a few paintings, but various considerations led me to the idea of making a series of small, postcard sized drawings. The drawings would be installed over the course of the exhibition one at a time, starting with just one. I invited my wife Sherrie to write a text for each drawing (see above) which I will post in relation to each drawing concurrently with when it (the drawing) is installed in the exhibition.

I made this yesterday. Drawn by free hand except base lines (obviously), for which I used the ruler. Excuse me if something is a bit out of size... © L.Marzano - iastudio on Flickr.
It's my school homework.

Graphite portrait on paper.
This drawing of a friend came about as a result of the lessons learned in the series of blind contours.
(See Nicolette: www.flickr.com/photos/elizabeth_rice/8706616918/in/photos...) It was a wonderfully satisfying drawing to complete.

half sheet canson with nupastels over watercolor...
Spent the last year
Rocky Mountain Way
Couldn't get much higher
Out to pasture
Think it's safe to say
Time to open fire
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rt75y38J00s
And we don't need the ladies
Crying 'cuz the storie's sad
'Cuz the Rocky Mountain Way
Is better than the way we had
Well he's tellin' us this
And he's tellin' us that
Changes it every day
Say's it doesn't matter
Bases are loaded and Casey's at bat
Playin' it play by play
Time to change the batter
And we don't need the ladies
Crying 'cuz the storie's sad, uh huh
Rocky Moutain Way
Is better than the way we had
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Guys, I need your help. There's something bothering me about this drawing, but I don't know exactly what... I just can't seem to get the right feeling and so..
You may not all know how to draw, but as photographers you know how to look at things. So, tell me.
