A Komodo Dragon at Chester Zoo.
Komodo dragons were first documented by Europeans in 1910, when rumours of a "land crocodile" reached Lieutenant van Steyn van Hensbroek of the Dutch colonial administration.
The first two live Komodo dragons to arrive in Europe were exhibited in the Reptile House at London Zoo when it opened in 1927.
Reaching up to 10 feet in length and more than 300 pounds, they are the heaviest lizards on Earth.

The Blue-Crested Lizard, also known as Calotes mystaceus, is a species of Dragon lizard that is found in province Nan of Thailand. As the name suggests, the Blue-Crested Lizard has a vibrant blue-colored crest on its head, which is more prominent in males. The rest of its body is usually green or brown, providing excellent camouflage among the vegetation. It has a slender and agile body, growing to an average length of around 30 to 40 centimeters, with the tail being longer than the body. These lizards are primarily arboreal, meaning they spend much of their time in trees and shrubs. They have strong limbs with sharp claws that enable them to climb and cling onto branches. They are also proficient jumpers and can swiftly move between trees. Blue-Crested Lizards are active during the day. They primarily feed on insects, such as crickets, grasshoppers, and beetles, but they may also consume small fruits and flowers. In Thailand, the Blue-Crested Lizard can be found in a variety of habitats, including forests, gardens, agricultural areas, and urban green spaces. It is a common and widely distributed species, often encountered by locals. Observing the vibrant blue crest and the agile movements of the Blue-Crested Lizard can be an exciting experience for nature enthusiasts and reptile lovers. However, it's important to remember that these lizards are wild animals, and it's best to admire them from a distance without disturbing their natural behavior.

Right place, right time. Walking through a SEQ nature reserve I came upon this little water dragon basking in a stream of light that managed to filter down through the canopy.

The Boyd's forest dragon is native to rainforests in the Wet Tropics region of northern Queensland from just north of Townsville to near Cooktown, Australia. It spends the majority of its time perched on the trunks of trees, usually at around head height. Boyd's forest dragon is a sit-and-wait predator, catching prey that it spies from its perch. Unlike most other lizards, it does not bask in the sun, instead letting its body temperature fluctuate with air temperature.
Dragon Lizard blending in with the gravel on the road; not a safe place for a little lizard, so I moved him off the road.
