Dragonfly iridescent cellophane like wings. Green Darner (Anax junius). Green darners are the biggest darner in North America and also the most widespread. They have a green thorax and a blue (male) or brownish (female) abdomen.
Dragonflies are good to have around because they eat midges and mosquitoes.

As my two cats found, caught and ate a dragonfly (tasty?) leaving only the wings as shown, I though I'd use them for a few macro shots.

Still working on the wings thing. I couldn't actually see the wings without them looking like marching ants, until I clicked on add a gradient and for some reason they popped up. I'll keep trying!
