Slauson aven and Western. I don't know what happen but as soon as I started flickin off pictures the Boyz n Blue showed up and made everybody go home. When I meet up with the classic truck, muscle car & street rod crowd we don't get hassled by the Man.

6th Street Bridge before and after photos

"We want to be free... Free to ride our machines without being hassled by the man!" It started out with old classics and lowriders and Harleys converging on the bridge and a car show broke out. Then some knuckle head brought unnecessary attention to the whole thing by lighting a smoke canister / bomb. From the distance I guess it looked as if some one was doing a burn out. The L.A.P.D. comes and breaks up the show. But as the photos prove the SHOW still went on.... UNDER THE BRIDGE.

The Los Angeles Terminal Annex post office was the central mail processing station from 1940 to 1989. The building was designed by Gilbert S. Underwood, a Spanish Mission Revival. Became a historical landmark in 1985. It is located down town on Alameda Street next to the Los Angeles Union Train Station.

A lots goin' on down by the river. While taking photos of two U.S. Marine choppers practicing landing/ take off/recovery at the L.A.P.D. Jay Stephen Hooper Memorial Heliport, some camera men and Honda test riders set up shop and I got these shots of Trains, Marines, Ghetto Birds & bikes down by the L. A. River and El Pato Chile-Enchilada-Tomato Sauce Factory.

Two man hole covers, asphalt & concrete shower street, front yards and driveways with debris when an underground electrical vault exploded which seems to have been caused by a nitrogen leak. Fortunately no one was hurt and only the back window of a car got blown out.

The Los Angeles Shoot, Loot & Scoot Triathlethon: aka The 1992 L. A. Riots

Found some more photos taken with my old ROLLEI ROLLIFLEX 35 MM SLR of the '92 L. A. Riots.

I can kick myself that I didn't sneak a few shots with my camera while the mayhem was going on. I was busy ducking and dodging and running red lights to avoid trouble. Almost all the pictures you see were taken on the third day of the riots when the Author-itah started to gain control.

I tip my hat to the journalist that were in the thick of it, they got some fantastic shots.

9 car wreck injuring 10 people at Crenshaw and Vernon in Leimert Park area of Los Angeles. Case of someone just driving too fast, I wonder if texting was involved.

While at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library I got to meet 89 year old Nathen Blackwell of Ventura, Calif. an old-world craftsman, "V-cut" letters, is his specialty. He is very good at what he does. I stood there and watched him do it for a while. He does not make it look easy. He is very precise, painstaking so, especially slow and careful, deliberate. This dude is amazing and he MADE HIS OWN TOOLS MAN ! ! ! In an Article for the L. A. Times by By Gail Davis, he said Michelangelo, was a wonderful sculptor, but lousy at lettering. HAHAHA, hey I'm sure he knows what he is talking about. In 1991 Marcel Mächler carved the bulk of the donor names into the walls of the lobby at the Reagan Presidential Library.

Demolition after Implosion to weaken the structure for final tear down. If you gotta see your ponies race you still have Del Mar and Santa Anita race tracks to go see them run. Now that this demolition is taking place people are hopeful that we'll get a NFL team coming back to the L. A. area. Hmmm foot ball, golf, tennis, baseball.... sorry I rather watch grass grow, what we need is a drag strip, a motocross park, monster truck stadium a low rider park and show car arena all rolled into one.
