These pictures were taken on Shrove Tuesday on Munich's food market - the Viktualienmarkt. Every year on the morning of this day, the market women perform a dance performance that draws an enormous crowd, and even TV stations are covering the event.
The most remarkable thing about this gathering however isn't the dance performance - it's the wide variety of people who come and celebrate together, often in very colorful, remarkable, and sometimes even crazy costumes. This gathering of people is a wild mix of carnival, Christoper Street day, political parody, eccentricity and sometimes sheer exhibitionism. Definitely a must-see if you're in Munich on this day.

Having numerous shots of GBRf 66713 , that Loco is not the star of this shot !
Class 442 Electric Multiple Unit 442420 is dragged back from Wolverton Works to Eastleigh Works . The aforementioned GBRf Class 66 Diesel Locomotive 66713 is providing the motive power , and the unit for coupling and "brake" purposes is top and tailed by a pair of Class 73 Locomotives , with 73141 at the front . And out of sight in this shot , at the rear 73201 .
