I've been experimenting. It's a lot of fun to make a non-conforming avatar. Or...sort of a Drag Queen?

Belted Kingfisher ~ (Megaceryle alcyon)
A bird I wish I could photograph more often due to its skittishness, this Belted Kingfisher did a flyby at Circle B. A pretty big crop, but my expectations plummet when it comes to this species.
Thanks for visiting!
Great Blue Heron ~ (Ardea herodias)
As this Great Blue Heron was coming in for a landing, it dragged its toes across the water for a few meters. I wasn't sure if it was trying to attract baitfish or just showing off!
Thanks for visiting!

Me at a salon during a drag class I took this spring. We got a makeover with air brush make up, wig styling and tips/practice on fine tuning our female representation. Fun day!
Manannán mac Lir is the Celtic god of the sea and his name is where the "Man" in Isle of Man comes from.
This sculpture by Darren Sutton is on Binevenagh mountain

Manannán may be an old god and mostly forgotten but interestingly still seen as a challenge to some. In 2015 extreme Christians felled the sculpture and dragged it away (it is heavy so they didnt get actually get it very far). They were offended by what they saw as Celtic idolatry- they "replaced" it with a wooden cross carved with the inscription “You shall have no other gods before me.”
Now repaired and re-erected under supervision of the sculptor.
This level of offence and reaction could probably only happen in Northern Ireland!

A Bald Eagle catches and drags it's prey across the river surface. They are opportunists first and foremost but when they hunt they are a sight to behold.
A (blended) long exposure from a lovely morning between Lands End and Sennen last week. Need to explore this area more the next time we are down in Cornwall.
