NS 14Z heads north through the CPLs at Stuarts Draft as the manifest led by NS 1065 continues its journey toward Shenandoah Yard
Having done this in the majority of the elements, it felt good to do this when the weather was not as inclement. From this angle, my truck is annexed to the plane’s starboard (right side), and the jet bridge straight ahead is connected to the plane’s larboard (left side). I’ve even had the privilege of being on both sides. The cross draft during the winter season is SAVAGE! Whereas during the Spring/Summer/Fall seasons are very comfortable. Unless it rains or hails, God forbid the winds are simultaneously just as heavy! Being an airline caterer is very fun, but it can also be very dangerous if you’re not very careful! Pays well, benefits are good, but if you’re afraid of heights, don’t bother applying for a job like this!

My first time to a camp draft and while it is not really a spectator sport, it's great for a photographer.
For these folks, the American right to politically protest is a vital element of American life. These are people who lived through WWII, the Korean War, The War in Vietnam, The Gulf War, and now the War in Iraq, and they know that no war is conducted without sacrifice and that the sacrifices made must be justified. They were appalled that our Government sought, in Iraq, in their view, to have a "nice little war" without the immediate sacrifices of a draft to make clear to people that the War in Iraq that had to be adequately justified in real terms in everyday life to Americans. They were aghast at the notion that the Government's idea of the way to fight terrorism was to go shopping or to buy duct tape, so they hit the streets in Pasadena, CA to deliver their message. Many cars driving by honked their horns in approval of this group's message.
Here’s a rough draft in art class that I drew before I started my big drawing. It’s made with chalk pastels and sorry for the smudges:)
My father's "Draft Card" or military registration, dated 2 days after his 18th birthday in 1949.
For Macro Mondays "Card"
This was my Dad's antique drafting brush. He was a surveyor and would use it to clear off eraser bits. The horsehair brush is for the Macro Mondays theme of brush. HMM
all the scribblings in the background are zev's and our papa's plans for the new treehouse. :]

Monument Valley is located on the southern border of Utah with northern Arizona. The valley lies within the range of the Navajo Nation Reservation, and is accessible from U.S. Highway 163. The Navajo name for the valley is Tsé Bii' Ndzisgaii (Valley of the Rocks).
The area is part of the Colorado Plateau. The floor is largely Cutler Red siltstone or its sand deposited by the meandering rivers that carved the valley. The valley's vivid red color comes from iron oxide exposed in the weathered siltstone. The darker, blue-gray rocks in the valley get their color from manganese oxide.
The buttes are clearly stratified, with three principal layers. The lowest layer is Organ Rock shale, the middle de Chelly sandstone and the top layer is Moenkopi shale capped by Shinarump siltstone. The valley includes large stone structures including the famed Eye of the Sun.

The Scarborough Marsh is soaked in golden light as a rare "double draft" Downeaster train roars through. Three engines, ten Amfleet cars, and a cabbage in the middle. Trailing is Amtrak's special "Midnight Blue" unit. A highlight of my week-long Maine vacation, for sure!
The Aframax type tanker is seen here arriving at the port of Antwerp throught the Berendrecht lock. It sailed from the Russian port of Primorsk 6 days earlier
