Maani has quit her job to do some travelling. I asked if she had come from far. When she said yes, I imagined Australia or Asia but she said “Manchester”, which I guess is a long way compared to the 3 and a half miles that I had come. Like many spend time travelling, Maani hadn’t got firm plans regarding where she would go next but would wait to see what path opened ahead.
Maani is an artist. She enjoys dot work using brushes and pens. Maani takes inspiration from nature, for her subject matter.
When I met Maani she was sitting with her friend, Claire, at the base of St Michael’s tower. They had met a few weeks ago in Wales. Claire was also happy for me to take her photo, she will be my stranger 522. When I had finished making portraits with each of the friends, I was able to photograph them both together.
Thank you Maani for being part of my project. It was great to meet you and Claire today.
