For storing your bracelet booty!

Whose bracelet's in a pineapple floating on top of the sea ...? SusanSquarepants! LOL

I really wanted to make a "gentleman's" jewelry box, and doing the rebuild, I love the green helm (from Fabuland) and really wanted to feature it. Its clever use in 41906 is how all 4 fronds are attached for the top of the pineapple.

Having this open from the side instead of top wasn't hard. The Lid actually slides into place without studs; stays fine nudged between the plates. Cool yellow, baby!

I had fun making the ship and the fish out of tiles (dots) and could probably re-do both many times over ...

That's after I *spin* the Helm's wheel a few more times :-)

A new visitor to our kitchen window screen at night. A number of moth species have this similar colouring, with bright orange underwings, but different configurations of dots etc.

For the 124 pictures in 2024 group: number 83. Polka Dot Day (January 22nd)

As we were coming back to the boat from our after-dinner walk, I saw Dot the New Kitty peeking out one of the portholes. I think Dot likes exploring all the nooks and crannies on the boat!

Don't let this photo fool you into thinking we keep Dot locked below decks. Today was the first really nice warm sunny day of the year, and Dot spent a good part of the afternoon in the sun sprawled on the carpet just inside the door to the salon, the boat's main living area.

Alas, I didn't have my camera handy a few minutes ago when Dot launched herself at the screen door in pursuit of a mosquito and landed half way up the door with all four paws hooked to the screen! It's a good thing the screen door is sturdy and Dot is such a small cat.

Lesson learned: if your kitty is a fierce bug hunter, close the outside door just before the mosquitoes come out at dusk, or be prepared to see the cat go through the screen door like a cartoon character one of these days.

Pretty moth resting on our door.

Having scrolled through lots and lots of members of the geometridae family (www.ukmoths.org.uk/thumbnails/geometridae/page22) I think I finally tracked this one down. It appears in many shades, but that row of tiny dark dots along the wing edge is what gives it its name.

Polka Dots are always lovely, of course, well seldom not. This is a bit lose but the belt helps to define my figure.

This is the smallest of the four kits. I named her "Dot".

I read that Fox kits fight for food and sometimes one or more kits will not get enough to eat, and will not survive. I guess this happens with a lot of wildlife, but its hard to watch it happen in person. All 3 kits have been hunting with Mom at sunset but Dot stays at the den by herself. As much as I like owls and coyotes I sure hope one doesn't find Dot. I hope to photograph her later this week.

It's attached by a hinge brick, so it folds down for closing the lid.

The Lobster tile is my favorite so far, and somewhat an inspiration for my design of this recipe box.
