I found these two long lost mice in the attic for my vintage Chogkin Doraemon! To congratulate this reunion I gave Doraemon this melon hat : ) – It was actually from a Japanese Melon Ball ice cream. It fits to his head so well though. Ha Ha!!

The Merlion story (from my Singaporean friend's blog)
"I'm back at last!!" said the Merlion. " I had been chosen by the Singapore Tourist Board to become the icon of this nation and have stood silently on the mouth of the Singapore River for many years. Tourists from other nations have seen me and took photos of me, I was rather embarrassed because I look really weird-a lion's head and body of a fish!! Yet so many people took photos of me as if i am a supermodel!!"
"Then one fine evening, disaster struck and from the heavens, a bolt of lightening suddenly struck me on the head. A piece of my head fell off,yet i did not even struggle in pain, I am a statue, you know! After this incident, it became big news everywhere. Some people speculate that it was a bad omen as this nation is undergoing economic recession. Anyway, soon scaffolding are creeping around me as there was a rush to fixed my poor head. After a mere three weeks, I am back in business again."
This guy & his li'l friend were not at Honolulu's Bishop Museum, along with the rest of the special Doraemon exhibition visiting from Japan (shown in several of my adjoining photos); these two were at the Ward Warehouse shopping center, letting shoppers from around the world know that Doraemon was in town, too, and ready to interest them in a museum trip.
