These are promotional items from McDonald's Singapore and depict the animal signs of the Chinese Zodiac, although the pig is conspicuously absent and has been replaced by a Valentine's Doraemon.
The official explanation by McDonald's is that Chinese New Year coincides with Valentine's day this year. But the public consensus is that McDonald's didn't want to risk offending its Muslim customers because it is a halal restaurant. This sparked controversy and debate as to whether it was appropriate for McDonald's Singapore to make this substitution. After all, these are just toys. And think of all the people born in the year of the pig that have been left out :(
Finally, McDonald's has relented and issued an apology on its website. They'll be bringing in the pig figure in April :)
Doraemon (ドラえもん) surveillant les marcheurs sur le Sentier de la Philosophie (哲学の道, Tetsugaku-no-michi, てつがくのみち) à Kyôto.
C’est sur une distance de 1,8 kilomètre que se trouve le chemin de la philosophie, dans la partie Nord-Est de Kyoto, au pied de Higashiyama 東山. Situé entre le temple Ginkaku-ji au Nord et le sanctuaire Wakaoji au Sud, soit une centaine de mètre à peine après le temple Eikando.
Ce chemin est bordé par le canal du lac Biwa (琵琶湖疏水 – Biwako Sosui). Construit durant l’ère Meiji, il avait pour vocation de dynamiser à nouveau le quartier. Il fut utilisé pour alimenter la première centrale hydro-électrique du Japon. Au niveau du temple Nanzen-ji il est d’ailleurs possible d’admirer l’aqueduc accompagnant ce canal.

I soaked quail egg into the syrup of pickled eggplants for 15 minutes or so, it turned bright blue. The eggplants pickles are supermarket product, if you were in Japan, you'll find it easily.
Cut the surface off, and put his eyes, nose, mouth and whiskers.
