This is an image taken during the credits of DOOM that's been enhanced and edited to look like the Original DOOM box art.
Edited in Photoshop.
Shitty quality picture, but it's based off my favourite level in the recent Doom game. It's a character defining mission, and a pretty fun mission.
Another scan from a photograph taken with my Instamatic camera, but the negative long lost, taken at Salisbury shed on 6th August 1967, with BR Standard 2-6-4 tank 80146 and 'USA' tank 30071.
On 18th June 1967, 80146 had worked the final steam-hauled train on the Swanage Branch. Despite its presentable external condition and having seen less than eleven years of service, it was despatched to South Wales and was cut up by Bird's of Risca during early 1968. 30071, latterly a Southampton Docks shunter, was scrapped at Cashmore's, Newport, in March 1968.

Legion of Doom: The Doom Dojo
Meanwhile in the Legion of Doom; Meanwhile within the Doom Dojo; Giganta and the Brain practice the ancient art of hand killing through the strict guidance of Sensei.
I just have to say I love this creation! Personally, it’s one of the favorite ones I’ve built. Anyways, this is the Doom Dojo has got a lot going on, and I’m really happy with how the Asian style architecture turned out, and how well it meshes with the Legion’s regular color and structure style.
In other news, I’ve now created a group dedicated to the Legion, the Lego Legion of Doom. It’s open to all to join and help build up the Legion through villain builds.

The castle was cold this morning. If I hadn’t already executed the facilities manager I would go execute him right now. I contemplated using the Time Platform to go back and execute the facilities manager yet again, but decided the consequences would be a distraction.
Susan arrives today.
I still have to go through my notes, memorize my lines, and get the new “lair” set decorated and prepped. I really think this World Conquest Plan could be the one, it pushes all the right romantic buttons. It will make Reed look witless and controlling (not difficult), force the brother and the brute to act overprotective, and show Susan she can be empowered and fully equal to any man. In fact the entire scenario can only be defeated by Susan. Not fire, nor intellect, nor brute strength will have any effect. Only the thoughtfully applied abilities of Susan can save the world today, and “defeat” Doom.
It will be difficult of course. There’s little point in just handing her a victory, not when I’m trying to show her how strong and independent she can be. If during the day’s events her brother, or her damnable boyfriend were to be maimed (oh darn), or even killed (hee hee!), then so be it.
I changed my mind. I am going to pop into the Time Platform and execute that idiot facilities manager after all. I think it will be just the thing to relax me.
Basically a Victorian re-imagining of the Doom Patrol. Huge credit to Benjuhmuhn on Instagram, whose fantastic Doom Patrol art inspired this post. The character designs are mostly his but the backstories are, for the most part, from my own mind. Without further ado, let’s get into some bios:
Tasked with finding a rare Eastern plant rumoured to bestow the gift of eternal life, famed explorer Professor Niles Caulder ended up crippled and hungry for revenge when his employer, a man known only as the Timeless Baron, shot him and left him for dead. Upon returning to England, Caulder set about assembling a team of unique individuals to help in his crusade against the Baron – his now sworn nemesis. In time, they became known as The Doom Brigade!
Colonel Lawrence Trainor of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces was left horrendously disfigured following his campaign during the First Boer War. Ambushed by the enemy and forced to abandon his post, Lawrence found refuge within a cave known to the locals as ‘The Anti Space.’ Just as he thought he was safe, a vengeful Zulu spirit emerged from the depths of the cave and latched itself onto Lawrence, possessing his body and disfiguring him in the process. Trainor was dismissed from the army and returned to England alone and ashamed, struggling to come to terms with what he had become. He soon attracted the attention of Professor Caulder, who helped ease his condition with herb-infused bandages and taught him how to find inner peace with the spirit.
Famed jockey Clifton ‘Stirrups’ Steel saw an abrupt and brutal end to his illustrious career after a tragic incident at the derby. Steel was leading the race when his horse got spooked and threw him violently to the ground. Unable to react quickly enough to what had happened, his fellow riders trampled him where he lay, severely mangling his body beyond repair. The best doctors in the land were called in an attempt to save Steel, but they soon found orthodox methods would not be enough to save him. It was here Professor Caulder was brought in. Caulder was able to salvage Steel’s head and arms and combine them with a state of the art, steam powered mechanical suit that granted him some form of life. Now known only as ‘The Automaton’, Steel, despite being little more than a walking corpse in a metal suit, is fiercely loyal to the man who saved his life and will do anything to help him get his revenge on those who have wronged him.
Talented stage actress Rita Farr was known throughout London for her captivating performances, drawing huge crowds of adoring fans to her shows year-round. One night, as Rita entered centre stage for the closing moments of the play Enemy of the Congo, a freak lightning storm struck the theatre. The electric current travelled through the building and into the limelights above the stage, causing them to explode above Rita as she was delivering her closing speech. Before she even knew what was happening, her body was engulfed by the now charged slaked lime of the lights and caused a complete shift in her physiology. The deadly mix mingled with her body, leaving her a malleable being of stone and flesh. Naturally, the incident caused Rita to lose her mind. Moments away from destroying herself, she was approached by Professor Caulder, who offered to help her get a hold of her condition. She reluctantly went with him and hasn’t looked back since.
Renowned psychic medium Arthur Challis made a fortune hosting séances for London’s richest and most gullible, using his daughter Katie as a sort of ‘spiritual diving rod’ to make contact with the dead. Little did his patrons know, but Arthur was a charlatan, exploiting Katie’s youth and innocence to draw in crowds of the most morbidly curious. One evening, however, as Katie was halfway through her ritual, her body began to convulse and her eyes turned a dark red. No one in the room would have expected the young girl to have drawn the attention of a real, vengeful ghost. The ghost took hold of Katie and had her kill everyone in the room – including her father – before allowing her to regain consciousness and come to terms with what she had done. Katie’s mind was fractured, and she was soon admitted to a mental asylum. It was here her fellow inmates gave her the nickname ‘Insane Jane’. As the years went by something inside Jane drew the attention more ghosts, until doctors believed her body to be host to around sixty four unique spirits, each displaying its own supernatural abilities. Professor Caulder heard of her unique disposition and naturally offered to take her into his care. Jane’s doctors were more than happy to comply.

As many of you know I love Castle building, it's so easy to pack in detail with that theme, which is why it's one of my favourite things to do when building. So Castle and Marvel in the one vig? Why not! I've had the Doom figure lying around since I bought the set it came in, so what's that... 2013? Man 5 years now. Anyway yes super glad I finally got to use this figure in a MOC. For me collecting figs is fun, it's nice to have them sure, but it's only worth it when I can put them in a MOC. So I used this MOC as a way to display some other figs that I have yet to come up with concepts for MOC's to put them in. The Sentry figure is from bigkidbrix, if you are wondering ;)
But yeah, love building throne rooms like this, makes me want to do more, it was great fun to combine two of my favourite themes in the one vig like this. Would love to do it again!

In 2012 those wrinkly rockers the Rolling Stones reminded us that they were still very much in business with the release of the excellent 'Doom and Gloom' single. Not however a portent for an album of new material however, this track and only one other were written and included on GRRR!, a 50th Anniversary compilation album. At a rough count, by my reckoning that's 24 compilation albums released in the UK (so far!)

This is a small screenprint that I've just done. Its a new colorway of a piece of work that I originally did for Faesthetics Doomsday issue and has since also become a Tshirt by Gingham 2K. Now its a postcard size print and has a nice coat of varnish on it. Its £8 in my shop if you'd like one.
