That says says it all, and we completed our warm up section.

Happy Friday Flickr Friends!

In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m an inspired person. I’m inspired to make a positive difference in the lives I touch personally and professionally. I have bad days like everyone, but when I do, I walk the talk in that I take my own advice about not sweating the small stuff, and remembering that every interaction with others is an opportunity to delight, and to learn.

I also keep people, words and images that inspire me close at hand. In my cubical at work and around my house, I have photos of my family, the house I grew up in, wildlife, lots of Coca-Cola stuff, as well as inspirational quotes. They’re not on little plaques written in script etc., not that there’s anything wrong with that. They are on magnets, bumper stickers, or simply typed and printed. .

Here are a few you might like. Some I picked up somewhere over the years, are on magnets or I read at some point, some are me, and the last one is Ralph Waldo Emerson:

“You are the C.E.O. of Your Life.”

“Shape your life, or someone else will.”

“When things go wrong, don’t go with them.”

“Anger gets you into trouble, and Pride keeps you there.”

“Work your “working interview!”

“Listen! There’s a reason you have two ears and only one mouth.”

“Nice Matters.”

“Some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it.”

“Don’t be pushed by your problems; be led by your dreams.”

“Bend to my will.”

“What lies behind us and before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.”

Hope you have a splendid and happy weekend!

Hugs and thanks for viewing! =o)

Found on Taikang Lu, Shanghai.

Here's a little song I wrote

You might want to sing it note for note

Don't worry, be happy.

In every life we have some trouble

But when you worry you make it double

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy now.

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

Ain't got no place to lay your head

Somebody came and took your bed

Don't worry, be happy.

The landlord say your rent is late

He may have to litigate

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

(Look at me -- I'm happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

Here I give you my phone number.

When you worry, call me, I make you happy.

Don't worry, be happy.)

Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style

Ain't got no gal to make you smile

Don't worry, be happy.

'Cause when you worry your face will frown

And that will bring everybody down

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

Don't worry, be happy.

(Don't worry, don't worry, don't do it. Be happy.

Put a smile on your face. Don't bring everybody down.

Don't worry. It will soon pass, whatever it is.

Don't worry, be happy. I'm not worried, I'm happy... )

- Bobby McFerrin

a rare snapshot - this easterbunny is not technically equipped like Santa, therefore it has to start his annual tour early...

Here's a little tome I wrote,

I hope it rhymes, but if it don't,

don't worry....be happy.

Steve saw trains running down the street, running backwards, then a meet, so don't worry...he's happy.

But then I saw him do a frown, going back home as he left town, but don't worry, he's happy.

For he'll be back to chase these trains, even as the sunlight wanes...so don't worry, he's happpppy! He's happy now...

Wooooooo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woo woooo...

***With deep apologies to Bobby McFerrin***

After picking up some prints from the Camera Company on the square I was approached by a very happy soul. As I had a couple of photographs of strangers in my bag, I shared the photos with the man and expressed my interest in taking his photograph. He agreed quite quickly and easily, though he was full of both motion and emotion. This made for a challenge to get a good photo, I like to capture subjects as they are but find it hard to fully do so when they're constantly moving. The man, who I learned was named Timothy or Tim; gave me a big smile on multiple occasions but I couldn't seem to get him in focus. I adjusted some settings, in order for a faster shutter speed then clicked a few more. I learned while taking Timothy's photo that he likes to take photos too, and he has camera's he wants to get rid of. Unfortunately for Tim, he missed the deadline last week to trade gear in so I wish him the best in finding someone to sell the equipment too. Before we parted ways, he asked how he could get his photo big like the ones in my bag; I had given a card to his friend (Henry) so that I can get them their pictures. Upon this being the final day of April has been a productive month for me in the search for 100 strangers and I suggest that you too take up this great project! You never know who you'll meet, and what kind of stories you'll get as well.

I don't care if the signal smiles at me or not, I still don't like sitting & waiting for a train in morning peak hour traffic. Even if, as my boss states, in Adelaide you can see the front & the back of the peak hour traffic jam.

PS I haven't added anything to this shot. This is how the signal on Cross Road at Westbourne Park actually appears.

Such I cliche, I know, but if I have to pick a song that will get me through the week. this will be it. I do, though, choose the version with a Brazilian tweak and I tap along on my desk, sometimes, when I'm alone in my office.

I highly recommend you guys listen to that.

The whole village is screwed. Domestic and business broadband. Card payment systems. Alarm systems. The works. BT see no ships. I was talking to the Post Office manager, who is having to turn people away. BT won't speak to her because they are not the service provider to her premises. (Post Office Broadband, you see) So she has to find somebody within the PO mamagement structure to "take ownership of the problem" as they say in smart speak. Meanwhile, Orange, Vodafone, Pipex customers are all suffering outages, and old age pensioners can't access their Post Office card accounts, and the (few remaining!) shops can only accept cash.

Apparently there was a power cut on Sunday close by the exchange that appears to have taken out some key equipment. However there has been a gradual creep of lost functionality since before Christmas that BT has routinely declined to address.

Now then... my (BT) hub has been troubelsome for a while. The hub-phone died a while back but that wasn't a big deal. Renewing equpiments / contracts was on my to-do list somewhere anyway so when the guy in India *eventually* agreed it was a faulty hub he then did the "oh dear you'll need to buy a contract " routine. Actually while that did make me angry in-principle it didn't in fact harm me in any way since that decision was already made. Staying with BT was the only option really because theirs is the only fair-usage policy that would not result in an arbitrary cut-off rather than mere tarpitting. It did however buy them some time until the gear gets here, which I was able to speed up by playing the "disabled family member" card - but that's STILL bloody Friday. Now, I can get by with my crummy dial-up 56K until then, but more by luck than judgement. (It's the only reason I haven't kicked Orange completely into touch so there's a stroke of luck). The rest of the village has greater need, and cannot.

I live 75 yards on a line of sight from the Telephone Exchange and am supplied by the same electricity line. Our power didn't go off on Sunday, it was just the supply line to other folk's IT equipment, the one that BT needs your business to be on before they will commit to "service levels" (not a joke). So, what caused that? Cumulative strain not seen by engineers or addressed by management? Or a cockup during the install of the latest battery of surveillance equipment? You tell me. BT won't, and that's a fact. Despite widescale "deregulation" of the nationalised telephone service in the 1980s, BT retains a monopoly over the telecomms infrastucture. So you think it's callous private enterprise. Just for a change, it's not ....

IT'S THE BLOODY GOVERNMENT And I don't mean the stooges that we will go through the pretence of "electing" in 3 weeks' time. I mean the people who own them, and who think they own me - and you for that matter.

I'm being serious about the surveillance equipment by the way. You need to pilot (as in badger cull?) something like that in a remote area to iron out problems of this sort which, were they to take out say Manchester city centre, might get noticed. But there are only 2000 people in Dyserth, and we are all just a bunch of ignorant hayseeds, aren't we?

... Well no we're not, actually, and hopefully we aren't powerless either. David Cameron says he wants us to take charge of our own lives. Trust me, it is not in his interests to want that. He seems like a nice enough fellow in his own right, so for his own sake personally I hope it's just talk - for if he is genuine in that wish, it will be his undoing.

This is the Global Economy in action.

Of course there is an upside to all this,,,,

... if Her Majesty's Government don't recognise who and where we are, Al'Qaeda probably don't care enough to bother with us either.

Don't worry - be happy

(Tell you what though - dial up is quite nippy today: it seems I virtually have the exchange all to myself)

***STOP PRESS*** - the modem is getting bounced now! another 7p. per go in the BT kitty for no result

Young man named Carl Fredrik and his little brother. A picture taken in natural surroundings, with sunlight from the right. Carl is a warmhearted, open, and very protecting boy. Here it´s shown through their walk in the woods, with his younger brother on his back. It´s taken in a normal perspective and is taken somewhere between a half total and a half near view. Taken with a Canon 700D

I love this picture.

The Shariar sends us stuff from time to time.

once upon a time there were two christmas cupcakes. they both had white sugar icing with red and green xmas tree-shaped sprinkles on them. they were very delicious, delicate and chocolatey moist and happy. one day they had this conversation...

cupcake 1: i'm bored. let's go get some sun.

cupcake 2: are you out of your mind? you know what sun can do to us.

cupcake 1: who cares! what's sweet icing if you were bored out of your skull(skup?) anyway?

cupcake 2: i care! would you really wanna risk melting away under the glorious yet burning rays? for what, a few moments of un-boredness?

cupcake 1: well, yeah!

cupcake 2: go ahead then. go and get double-baked and melt away. don't expect me to go putting my icing on you when you're all wasted, okay?

cupcake 1: okay.

cupcake 2: okay.

cupcake 1: okay. but...but...

cupcake 2: but what?!?

cupcake 1: it's so lonely out there all alone. you know i can't be without you, my cupcake.

cupcake 2: oh, here we go...

cupcake 1: no, no, seriously. i can go on my own, but...but...

cupcake 2: but what?!?

cupcake 1: it wouldn't be the same. i'll...miss, *cough* i'll...miss, *gulp* i'll miss you. *sigh*

cupcake 2: you're so full of it, buttering me up like that and sugar-coating everything! BAH. i bet you're just making that up so i'd go with you. you don't need me there. go get your sun, you sonamagun!

cupcake 1: well, at least i tried. i meant it you know. the i'll-miss-you part.

cupcake 2: whatever.

so off went cupcake 1 to find his spot under the sun. he found a white plate and basked in the glow and warmth of the light coming in from a bay window facing the lake.

in the meantime, cupcake 2 was trying to busy herself in her nice, cool and comfy interior. after reading a few books and tidying up and fixing box she felt an unfamiliar feeling. something wasn't right. it was quiet. way too quiet. she was missing something, something whiny and noisy and bothersome. meanwhile, cupcake 1 was at that very moment humming a tune. it was his favority bobby mcferrin song, don't worry be happy. and when the sun was at its highest point in the sky, cupcake 1 began to sing...

here's a little song i wrote, you might want to sing it note for note don't worry be happy...

when he reached the third line from the second stanza about the one "who took your bed" he noticed a familiar warmth by his side. he turned, still singing, and smiled. cupcake 2 decided to get out of her cozy box and risk the heat. besides, if they did melt under the hot sun, they'd make one big mushy pile of delicate chocolatey syrup with red and green bits of christmas in them.

that wasn't such a bad idea, she thought. that is, if you were made of chocolate.

the end.

but not quite the end...

and, and, and

you gotta...GOTTA see this one!!!

be sure to get your kleenex box ready. happy tears coming up!

and this one!!!

if you feel like DRIVIN AWAY, far, far away.

Chocolatey Bobby ROCKS in my book!!!
