miyama=deep mountain , nara=oak (Japanese oak) , donguri=acorn

ミヤマナラ／ブナ科コナラ属

ミズナラはブナ科コナラ属の落葉広葉樹で、ミヤマナラはその高山型の亜種とされています

ミズナラが北東アジアに分布するモンゴリナラの変種とする説を取ると学名はQuercus mongolicaとなります

ミヤマナラはミズナラよりも背が低く、葉も小さく縁には粗い鋸歯があります

ドングリも小さいはずですが、中間型なのか写真のドングリはそんなに小さくありません

Painting by Brisbane artist Michael Ulrich, "Anthem", purchased in Fortitude Valley early 2004. I purchased 4 of Michael's paintings, all sized about 18 x 10cm on 1cm wide framed canvas. His quotations are simple, effective, speak volumes. I just love his work.

Atop: reflective postcard of Korean artist Kwon Ki-Soo's 2006 work, "Colour Forest" purchased at GOMA. At different angles one can see his famed character Donguri. That's Donguri's cat you see in the bottom right corner. I just absolutely love this painting with all my heart and would love a poster of it...
