A close-up done with the 7Artisans manual lens at F1.2. The photographic discussion sometimes refers to "dream lenses", often super-fast vintage lenses that produce soft and rich images. I found that this little Chinese lens does similar things when used wide-open, in particular when backlit. If sharp focus is not your primary aim, then this tiny and inexpensive piece of glass would be an option.
And I finally caught up with the story, man, Shadowbringers was really good and I wish I could play it again for the first time. Well, time to unlock all the content I skipped and do all the side quests I ignored so far. Still A LOT OF STUFF to do.
Several of my favourite elements all coming together in this shot: wild sweet peas, sunset, and my favourite boat in Steveston, docked at Scotch Pond in Garry Point Park--one of my favourite places!
Time to take this Caturday easy.
Ditto for Sunday and Monday!
Monday is a holiday for my hooman.
But I’m just happy I get to spend more time with her!🐾
With the line to Caerphilly closed for a weekend possession, an engineering train, its services no longer required, leaves the branch and approaches Cardiff Queen Street en-route back to base.
The working is the 9.00am Cardiff Queen Street - Westbury Down (6A04), in the hands of Freightliner 'Sheds' 66621 and 66592 (tailing). Three other engineering trains remained on the branch, with the possession eventually lifted in time for Monday morning passenger services to resume.
I'd spotted this one on the virtual signal diagram and kept a close eye on it through breakfast for a possible early departure. Thankfully it ran close to schedule so no need to choke on the eggs and bacon and, even better, the clouds played ball too. A nice start to the day given how rare loco-hauled services are just here these days. Best viewed large.

Done in Water Colour. Continued from and old unfinished Water colour work years ago which I have no feeling to continue. I found it by accident and voila, the spark to finish it comes again.

The was inspired from the Biblical context exposing the evil Fallen Angel watchers and their hybrid children (part human and part Angelic) of Genesis 6 and the Book of Enoch.

I just thank the Most High Yahuah for the time I had and the spark to do it.

Third attempt over the years to take this photo.
Mist in the Demer valley, before the rising sun with pastel shades of sky, that was pretty much my idea and then also a nice freight train..
Mixed freight train on its way to Antwerp.

Congratulations. Your beautiful picture has won the third place in the March 2020 Photo Contest in Flickrology.
Well done.
As autumn wanes rapidly, it isn't quite done yet, nor am I. And have a fence for you as well.

These Red Avadavats (also known as Strawberry finches) are in their peak breeding season. The males look superb - bright red with white spots on the body and are hard to miss. These are resident finches found throughout the year, but are in their breeding plumage from around june/july till December. Around 10 cms long, they can be seen around bushes and scrubs flying around. I don't think they started nesting yet, but thats due shortly after the rains end.
They nest in small dry bushes dotting the countryside and once the bush is selected, they start collecting nesting materials for the build. We came across a dozen of them on a visit to a grassland and all of them are in prime breeding plumage including the females. They haven't paired yet from what I can see and once that is done, I suppose the nest building begins.
Thank you so much in advance for your views, feedback and faves.
