All done By me ~

After feeding a fish to the three chicks it's time for this adult Bald Eagle to move higher up in the nesting tree to stand guard.

An old barn, kissed by the setting sun....

This portrait by Evert Ploej done in oil on jute in 1989 was an Archibald prize finalist. Evert Ploeg (pronounced Ay-vert Plough; born 1963 in Sydney, New South Wales) is one of Australia's most highly regarded portrait painters, who has won a range of painting prizes, such as the 1999 and 2007 Archibald Prize (Category: People’s Choice) and was awarded the highly coveted ‘Signature Status’ of The Portrait Society of America. Working in a tonal realist style (mostly in oil), Ploeg’s pictures bespeak an approach to portraiture that is inspired by documentary methods. Putting emphasis on visually encoding a personal narrative in any given portrait, he builds connection to his subjects through conversation and extended observation both during their sitting as well as in their engagements outside of the atelier. 57337

Film simulation “B&W green”

My new (and a bit extreme) film simulation made especially for old monumental buildings, historical motifs and ruins like this one.

Everything is preset in camera, the picture taken in jpeg and posted as sooc without post processing.

This is the split rail fence that borders a portion of the Mill Valley Dog Park and is probably the most colorful fence you'll find anywhere, with lichen growing along its entire length.

I don't know what Flickr has done with the EXIF data, but I set the aperture at f22 for this shot, in order to get the entire length of the fence in sharp focus. Whatever Flickr's problem is, I hope they fix it soon because, whenever I see an interesting image, I immediately check the EXIF data to see how the shot was accomplished, and I really miss not having it.

Before the invention of hay bales..... My father-in-law, who is 96, told me that this was a pretty wonderful machine. It would lift winrowed hay up into a wagon that was being pulled behind. He said it really beat throwing the hay into the wagon using a pitchfork. When he was a young man his family used horses to farm and corn was picked by hand. Farming has come a long way in his life time.

This is a composite. The foreground photo was taken during blue hour. The sky photo was taken a night earlier about 30 miles away to get away from the light pollution surrounding Lincoln. All photos were taken using an Olympus OMD EM-1 mk2 body and Olympus 12mm f2 lens.

Took a ride to the beach late afternoon,

not thinking about the sunset . . .

and how it wasn't in the same place as

what I was used to in the summer!

oh well . . . the mood is here!

we did it - today is day 365!!!!!!!

it doesn't seem like a year, yet at times, it seemed like forever. I am so glad we did it, but yet do not think I will try for another 365 soon, maybe a 52 week though. I made the shirts too, with a pic a day for them!
