After feeding a fish to the three chicks it's time for this adult Bald Eagle to move higher up in the nesting tree to stand guard.

An old barn, kissed by the setting sun....

As in blow the candle out...

Old Wood Shed part of a very well done pioneer village with a lot of buildings, found in North Carolina.

Film simulation “B&W green”

My new (and a bit extreme) film simulation made especially for old monumental buildings, historical motifs and ruins like this one.

Everything is preset in camera, the picture taken in jpeg and posted as sooc without post processing.

I heard a noise, listened, looked upwards, adjusted the camera, then waited ...

Before the invention of hay bales..... My father-in-law, who is 96, told me that this was a pretty wonderful machine. It would lift winrowed hay up into a wagon that was being pulled behind. He said it really beat throwing the hay into the wagon using a pitchfork. When he was a young man his family used horses to farm and corn was picked by hand. Farming has come a long way in his life time.

This is a composite. The foreground photo was taken during blue hour. The sky photo was taken a night earlier about 30 miles away to get away from the light pollution surrounding Lincoln. All photos were taken using an Olympus OMD EM-1 mk2 body and Olympus 12mm f2 lens.

Two A&M Alco C420’s wade through the water in Van Buren, Arkansas after switching a few industries. It rained a lot this day and the day prior which caused the flooding over the tracks here. The crew when they went to switch the industries they left the AM 50 here and they came back to a nice surprise with the Alco being surrounded by water by time they were done!

Took a ride to the beach late afternoon,

not thinking about the sunset . . .

and how it wasn't in the same place as

what I was used to in the summer!

oh well . . . the mood is here!

we did it - today is day 365!!!!!!!

it doesn't seem like a year, yet at times, it seemed like forever. I am so glad we did it, but yet do not think I will try for another 365 soon, maybe a 52 week though. I made the shirts too, with a pic a day for them!

bigger is better

We have worked hard for a week and now we are glad and happy that we have made it.

Here's one from a couple of days ago, during a sunrise shoot with long time friend and fellow flickr photographer Joe Micallef at South Bar Beach, NSW; Australia.

The rocks here are normally covered by sand, but recent large seas have again revealed their beauty!!!

First try-out with my new Progrey Reverse Grad filter - looks to have done it's job here!

Have another fantastic day and week - thanks for any comments, viewings or favorites!!!

The washing up is done, phew!

An absolute rarity, this young Sharp-shinned Hawk blessed my backyard while it enjoyed its birdie meal. Taking a break here before it moves on. I've only seen a handful of hawks stop by over the years; this one probably got what it wanted. Actually, for two Super Bowl Sundays in a row, a hawk sat on my fence. Second year, I named it Brady. If it happens this year, I may have to change the name to Jared.
