Curler caps , bonnets etc in the 60s and 70s were intended to both look nice as well as secure and protect a hairdo or a rollerset. Some of the descriptions even mention thinks like fashionable or pretty and they were. A pretty woman wearing nicely set curlers and a curler cap can be absolutely beautiful!

I finally made it down to the Chicago Botanic Garden this weekend. The place is huge, and has a variety of different gardens. I thought I'd check out the Japanese Garden first.
I learned that a rock tied with a black string means "stop, do not enter" Of course, there are barriers for those of us who don't understand these signs and for those who would ignore them anyway.
I'm sure I will return many more times. It's pretty near work, and now I have a membership so I don't have to pay the ridiculous parking fee. :D
The Palacio do Governador inside the Fortaleza de Sao Joao Baptista in Angra do Heroismo, Terceira, Azores, was built in the early 17th century.
A praia do Leblon está localizada no bairro de mesmo nome, na zona sul e é considerado um dos mais nobres da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. O bairro é famoso por abrigar restaurantes cariocas de renome, além de bares, quiosques e hotéis que garantem uma ótima infra-estrutura turística.

Para os apaixonados por surf, o ideal é procurar as encostas do Morro Dois Irmãos que garantem ondas especiais para os surfistas fazerem manobras.
Sendo uma continuação da Praia de Ipanema, só é separada da vizinha pelo Jardim de Alá, um parque que divide os bairros de Ipanema e Leblon, o canal e praças.
Mas, um dos encantos do Leblon é a paisagem do Morro Dois Irmãos no entardecer. Local que garante ótimas fotos, passeios através da orla e observação do bairro e da praia do Leblon e Ipanema através de um mirante.

The beach of Leblon is located in the district of the same name, in the south zone and is considered one of the noblest of the city of Rio de Janeiro. The neighborhood is famous for hosting renowned Carioca restaurants, as well as bars, kiosks and hotels that guarantee a great tourist infrastructure.
The greater frequency is of residents who seek to refresh themselves in the waters of the sea. So it will not be surprising if there are some celebrities in their bars and boardwalk.
It has a family atmosphere, quiet and ideal for small children. The waterfront has space for everyone who wants to enjoy the sun, play sports such as volleyball and soccer, walking, cycling along the bike path, and other activities. For lovers of surfing, the ideal is to look for the slopes of Morro Dois Irmãos that guarantee special waves for surfers to make maneuvers.
Being a continuation of the Ipanema Beach, it is only separated from the neighbor by the Garden of Allah, a park that divides the neighborhoods of Ipanema and Leblon, the canal and squares.
But, one of the charms of Leblon is the landscape of Morro Dois Irmãos at dusk. Place that guarantees great photos, walks through the waterfront and observation of the neighborhood and the beach of Leblon and Ipanema through a belvedere.
O Pêgo do Inferno, que se diz não ter fundo por estar directamente ligado ao mar, é um pequeno paraiso perdido na freguesia de Santo Estêvão, a cerca de 7km de Tavira, e é um dos mais bonitos e agradáveis lugares algarvios, embora diferente da imagem turística do Algarve da costa dourada.
Trata-se de uma das quedas de água da ribeira da Asseca, um dos mais importantes cursos de água da região de Tavira.
Do “Miradouro do Pêgo“, podemos admirar a beleza da queda de água e os "valentes" que se atrevem a mergulhar do alto das rochas, apesar dos avisos de perigo.
A queda de água forma uma lagoa redonda, de um verde lindo, rodeada de uma refrescante área arborizada.
O acesso ao Pego do Inferno, após o estacionamento (é melhor ir durante a semana, coisa que eu não fiz, mas fui lá parar sem estar planeado... :))), faz-se durante cerca de 100 metros até se aceder a uma escadaria de madeira, começando aí o percurso propriamente dito, levando a descida até ao Pêgo cerca de 300 a 400 metros.
A Lenda do Pêgo do Inferno
Conta-se que há muitos anos, uma carroça se despenhou no pêgo, caindo os ocupantes na lagoa. Os cadáveres dos ocupantes da carroça e os dos animais que a puxavam nunca foram localizados e os mergulhadores não conseguiram encontrar o fundo da lagoa, chamando então ao local “Pêgo do Inferno".
People say that Pêgo do Inferno (Deepenings of Hell), has no bottom because it is directly connected to the sea. The place is a small paradise lost in the surroundings of Tavira, Algarve, and is one of the prettiest and more pleasant places in the area, although so different from the turistic image of the Algarve of the golden coast.
It's formed by one of the waterfalls of Asseca river, one of the most important water courses in the region of Tavira. From “Pêgo's Belvedere “, we can admire the beauty of the waterfall and the " braves" who dare to dive from the top of the rocks, nevertheless the posted signs of danger.
The waterfall forms a round lagoon, of pretty green water, encircled by a refreshing woody area. The access to Pêgo do Inferno, after parking (it's better to avoid the weekends, which I didn't, but I wasn't planning to go there ...:))), is walking about 100 meters until acceding to a wooden staircase. The descending until the Pêgo is about 300 to 400 meters.
The Legend of Pêgo do Inferno
According to the legend, many years ago, a wagon crashed in the place, falling its occupants in the lagoon. The corpses of the occupants of the wagon, and of the horses which pulled it, have never been located, and the divers had not obtained to find the bottom of the lagoon, calling then to the place “Deepenings of Hell".
Caught in the mirror and feeling so good about happy times to come. And a lady always loves being given roses.....
