Eltville is a town of about 17,000 on the Rhine River in Germany.

The earliest traces of humans settling here go back to the New Stone Age. There has been continuous habitation since the late 4th century. Eltville was first documented in writing in 1058.

This is the tower of Eltville Castle. "The castle was destroyed by the Swedes in 1635 during the Thirty Years' War. Only the tower house remained and was partially rebuilt in 1682.

In 1938 the surviving castle structures were restored."
