It's really Dock 9, but this gives the best viewpoint with that glorious sunset behind the BBC buildings that never seems to materialise whenever I go there. The '9' is embossed with anecdotes and witticisms from people who use to work in Salford Docks long before it became the media centre of the north.
At least I've bagged another of my planned shots for my "batter the Quays" project... only another 34 to go!

There is a quality to the light in Cape Cod that amplifies the minimal spareness of the landscape. A stunning contrast to the riot of fall colour inland.
This incident appeared to involve a slow moving train of empty ore cars being pulled off Dock 6 and resulted in a delicate re-railing effort as the cars were over Interstate 35.
56094 and 56087 rumble towards Strand Road crossing in Preston building up some momentum for the gradient up towards Ribble Junction with 6E32 Ribble Rail to Lindsey discharged bitumen tanks.

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend! I know many probably saw a view just like this, just before spending the day in the water.
The buffer stop is still in place where the railroad siding ends at Kellers Feed Mill in Newport, Kentucky. The huge mill with its wood and steel siding is very out of place. A reminder of the era when train tracks wove throughout the business district. This building would qualify as a museum setting.
