Accident occurred Monday, December 26, 2005 in Seattle, WA
Probable Cause Approval Date: 8/29/2006
Aircraft: McDonnell Douglas MD-83, registration: N979AS
Injuries: 142 Uninjured.
The captain said that the airplane arrived late into Seattle, from its previous flight, and the new flight crew was waiting at the gate. After the airplane was chocked and the engines were shut down, the first officer immediately performed his preflight inspection. A ground baggage handler, who was driving a tug towing a train of baggage carts, said that he approached the airplane from aft to forward, but had to maneuver around another train of carts to get close to the belt loader. After loading the carts with baggage, he attempted to drive away. He stated, "I was hoping to make it out, but I felt my tug going against something. I immediately set my foot on the brakes and glanced at the body [in moderate rain] of the aircraft to see if there was any damage. It was a quick glance and I did not see any damage." He did not report the incident to anyone. The pilot said that the takeoff was normal. During the climb out, at approximately 26,000 feet, they heard a loud bang, and the cabin depressurized. He said that they put their oxygen masks on, and coordinated a descent to a lower altitude with Seattle Center. An uneventful landing was performed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, Seattle, Washington. Post landing examination of the fuselage revealed a 12 by 6 inch hole between the middle and forward cargo doors on the right side of the airplane. After the occurrence, the ground baggage handler confessed that he had "grazed the airplane" with a tug, while attempting to depart the vicinity of the airplane.
The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident as follows:
The ground personnel baggage handler failed to maintain clearance from the aircraft with cargo handling equipment during ground operations and inadvertently damaged the airplane's pressure bulkhead which subsequently decompressed during climb to cruise.
A Class 319 arrives from Liverpool Lime Street, heading for Blackpool North.
Will it, won't it?
The very pleasant, active, customer-aware guard (not a back cab dweller) answered that "its in my docket". I pressed her so she went and looked on her Northern internal system and came back beaming and giving the thumbs up.
Fingers crossed....

Accident occurred Thursday, March 04, 1999 in KANSAS CITY, MO
Probable Cause Approval Date: 01/10/2001
Aircraft: Douglas DC-9-15F, registration: N195US
Injuries: 2 Uninjured.
The airplane was cleared to land on runway 19R at the Kansas City International Airport. The first officer said that the airplane was on speed and on course for the visual approach. 'The captain had just called the 1,000 feet [above the ground] call when a flock of snow geese suddenly illuminated in our lights, engulfing us from below, flying into us. No birds hit the windshields, but it was immediately apparent they had flown into the engines.' The captain said that he had the airplane, advanced the power on both engines, and ordered the first officer to reset the flaps to 30 degrees, the single- engine flap position. 'The number one engine continued to compressor stall. The number two engine went to a sub-idle run condition.' The captain reduced the power on the number one engine 'enough to lessen the surge/stall condition to a rate of once every two seconds, which allowed just enough thrust to maintain the approach and to lower the vibration. The number one engine continued to compressor stall/surge to touchdown.' The touchdown was normal. Examination of the airplane revealed bird remains and substantial damage to both engines. No other anomalies were found.
The National Transportation Safety Board determines the probable cause(s) of this accident to be:
ingestion of birds into both engines, resulting in foreign object damage and the subsequent partial power loss to both engines. A factor relating to this accident was the dark night.
NTSB Factual Report
HISTORY OF FLIGHT
On July 23, 2003, about 0852 Hawaiian standard time, a Bell 206B, N37741, descended into steep downsloping terrain in the inside crater wall of the Waialeale Crater, Kauai, Hawaii. The helicopter was owned and operated by Jack Harter Helicopters, Inc., Lihue, Hawaii. The commercial certificated pilot and the four fare-paying passengers were fatally injured, and the helicopter was destroyed. A company visual flight rules (VFR) flight plan was filed and opened with the operator. Visual meteorological flight conditions (VMC) prevailed during the initial portion of the flight. Instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) existed in the vicinity of the accident site. The on-demand air taxi (commercial air tour) flight was performed under the provisions of 14 CFR Part 135 and originated from the Lihue Airport (LIH) in Kauai about 0803.
The pilot's wife indicated to the National Transportation Safety Board investigator that the day and evening preceding the accident flight had been normal. Her husband was rested upon departing for work. The operator's general manager reported that the pilot arrived at work approximately 0630, performed a preflight inspection of the accident helicopter, and departed for his first Part 135 charter flight. The flight lasted about 20 minutes, and by 0745 the pilot landed back at LIH. Thereafter, the helicopter was refueled with 39 gallons of fuel.
Four fare-paying passengers boarded the helicopter, and they departed in VMC pursuant to company procedures for the planned 60 to 65-minute-long sightseeing tour flight over Kauai. No Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) facility reported hearing any radio transmissions from the pilot following his departure from LIH.
The operator reported that the pilot was authorized to vary the route of flight according to the weather and lighting conditions he might encounter. Tour flights typically travel over the Nawiliwili Harbor and then follow the Huleia River Valley to the west. The flights then proceed to the Hanapepe Valley, the Olokele Canyon, and the Waimea Canyon. After departing the Waimea Canyon, flights continue to the west and then traverse the Puu Ka Pele Forest Reserve to reach Na Pali, which is generally traversed from the southwest to the northeast. Most flights make a 360-degree turn in the vicinity of Ke'e Beach and then continue to Lumahai Beach where the flights head inland to Mt. Namolokama. The flights then follow the Hanalei River to the ridge that separates the Hanalei and Wailua drainages and cross the ridge and travel to the "North Wall" of Mt. Waialeale. Flights that occur during "normal" weather conditions usually enter the Waialeale Crater and fly below the orographic cloud layer into and out of the valley. Flights that occur in this area when the sky is clear often fly to the summit of Mt. Waialeale using a variety of paths. Many tour flights do not enter the Waialeale Crater. Tours then return to LIH via Wailua Falls.
A review of recorded radar data indicates that until the accident occurred, the pilot's route of flight was consistent with the aforementioned tour route. After departing LIH the pilot began a clockwise flight route around the island. The last radio transmission made by the accident pilot, which was heard by another of Jack Harter's tour pilots, indicated the accident pilot was in the vicinity of the Waialeale Crater. Jack Harter's pilot reported that the accident pilot made a position report of "741, north wall for the top." The transmission was made on a nonrecorded air-to-air aircraft radio frequency. According to Jack Harter's general manager, the pilot's statement indicated that he anticipated flying to the top of the Waialeale Crater.
A further review of recorded radar data for the accident time period indicates the presence of one aircraft in the crater. The Safety Board investigator's review of the radar data indicates that this aircraft's flight course was consistent with that of the accident helicopter. In pertinent part, at 0850, the helicopter had climbed from 3,700 to 4,600 feet, as indicated by its Mode C transponder. At 0851:57, the helicopter had climbed to 5,000 feet, which was the highest altitude recorded during the accident flight. Thereafter, the helicopter descended. The last radar hit was at 0852:11, at which time the helicopter had descended to 4,600 feet.
The operator reported the helicopter overdue when it failed to return to LIH. The FAA and local tour operators were notified of its overdue status, and a search commenced. The wreckage was found a few hundred feet (lateral distance) from its last recorded radar position.
PERSONNEL INFORMATION
Employment.
According to the general manager of Jack Harter Helicopters, Inc., the pilot was hired on August 9, 1995. Previously, the pilot had served 15 years in the U. S. Navy as a helicopter pilot. Jack Harter Helicopters is based on Kauai, and that is where the pilot resided and performed thousands of flights. The pilot was Jack Harter's Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR 71) designated instructor pilot.
The pilot had satisfactorily completed an FAA administrated "Airman Competency/Proficiency" check flight in the accident helicopter on April 3, 2003, and he was accordingly permitted to perform on-demand air taxi flights under FAR Part 135. In pertinent part, on the check flight form the FAA indicated that the pilot was limited to flying under Part 135 to daytime VFR conditions.
Certification and Currency.
The pilot held a commercial pilot certificate, with rotorcraft-helicopter and instrument helicopter ratings. The FAA reported that he had no previous accident or enforcement history.
The operator indicated that of the pilot's 13,684 total hours of flight time, 13,567 hours were flown in rotorcraft, and 8,674 hours were flown in Bell 206B helicopters. The pilot's combined actual and simulated instrument experience was 780 hours. During the preceding 90 days, 30 days, and 24-hours, the pilot had flown 292, 81, and 6.7 hours, respectively.
According to the "Flight and Duty Record" provided by the operator, the pilot's flight and duty times for the 11 days preceding the accident indicated he was off duty and did not fly on July 12 or 13. He flew a total of 27.4 hours from July 14 to 18. He did not work or fly on July 19 or 20. He flew a total of 11.5 hours from July 21 to 22. His duty hours during these periods never began earlier than 0715, nor ended later than 1800.
Pilot Professionalism.
Company management and fellow company tour pilots knew the accident pilot's competency and professionalism. The following remark was made by a coworker: "I...knew him to be a very safe and professional pilot. He wasn't one to take chances...."
HELICOPTER INFORMATION
The helicopter, serial number 1695, was manufactured in 1975, and was equipped with an Allison (Rolls-Royce) 250-C20B engine.
The helicopter was maintained on a program of FAA required 100-hour and annual inspections. In addition, the helicopter was maintained with additional required inspections following the Bell Helicopter Maintenance Manual, Revision 2, dated June 7, 2002. These inspections were performed at 300, 600 and 1200-hour intervals.
The last annual inspection was accomplished on June 3, 2003, at a total airframe time of 18,036.1 hours. The last 100-hour inspection was performed on July 8, 2003, at a total airframe time of 18,131.1 hours, and a Hobbs meter time of 5,099.6 hours. The Hobbs meter in the accident helicopter was observed at 5,138.7 hours.
At the time of the accident, the helicopter had flown about 39.1 hours since its last 100-hour inspection. The helicopter's total airframe time in service and engine time was about 18,170.2 and 17,345.4 hours, respectively.
The helicopter was not equipped with either a gyroscopic directional heading indicator, or an artificial horizon. There was no FAA requirement for either installation in this helicopter, which was not certified for flight into IMC.
The FAA participants' "Maintenance Report" did not indicate that any discrepancies were found during its review of the helicopter's maintenance records. Required inspections had been accomplished.
The last pilot to fly the helicopter prior to the accident reported that, on July 18, 2003, he flew it for 6.8 hours. The pilot reported to the Safety Board investigator that the helicopter "performed normally at all times and there were no discrepancies noted." The most recent maintenance record found in the accident helicopter was dated July 18, 2003, and was signed by the aforementioned pilot. No discrepancies or corrective actions were listed on the maintenance form bearing number 1319, which was a sequentially issued number imprinted on the document.
The operator reported that the accident helicopter was equipped with an aural engine-out warning system horn. According to Bell Helicopters Technical Bulletin No. 206-82-71, Rev. A, dated 11/10/1982, the horn does not function until N1 decreases to 55 percent.
METEOROLOGICAL INFORMATION
The closest aviation weather observation station to the accident site is located at LIH, elevation 153 feet mean sea level (msl). The airport is about 10.2 nautical miles (nm) east-southeast (113 degrees, magnetic) of the accident site. In part, at 0853, LIH reported its surface wind was from 060 degrees at 10 knots, 10 miles visibility, scattered clouds at 2,500 feet, temperature 27 degrees Celsius, dew point 21 degrees Celsius, and altimeter setting 30.04 inches of mercury.
Meteorological Report.
A Safety Board's meteorologist reviewed the weather conditions pertinent to the accident flight. The weather conditions were compared with the helicopter's flight track, as recorded by radar. The Safety Board's Meteorological Factual Report, included with this docket, indicates the following:
1. A northeasterly low-level airflow with partly cloudy skies existed over Kauai, and the visible satellite imagery showed that clouds were present to the northeast, east, and southeast of the accident site in the crater; and
2. Progressive satellite images, in conjunction with the helicopter's radar track, show that as the helicopter's proximity to the accident site decreased, the band of clouds encroached the crater from the east.
Videotape and Witness Statements.
Videotape images of the weather conditions were recovered from a passenger's camera on board the accident helicopter. The videotape shows clouds in the vicinity of the accident site.
Several helicopter tour pilots who flew in or near the Waialeale Crater accident site area within a few minutes of the accident reported the presence of a few clouds in the area.
About 1/2 hour after the accident another helicopter pilot arrived in the vicinity of the crater. This pilot reported having heard the accident pilot broadcast his intention of flying to the top of the crater. This pilot recalled that he too, would "go for the top" if the weather permitted upon his arrival in the area. However, according to this pilot, he was unable to fly to the top of the crater because approaching the area he observed that it was "clouded over."
Rescue personnel reported that by 1215, lowering ceilings and inclement weather conditions precluded flight operations over the accident site.
COMMUNICATION
According to the FAA, no communications with the accident helicopter pilot were recorded after departure from LIH. All communications with the pilot were normal.
FLIGHT RECORDERS
The helicopter was not equipped with either a cockpit voice recorder or a flight data recorder. There is no FAA requirement for either recorder to have been installed.
WRECKAGE AND IMPACT INFORMATION
The accident site is located about 0.8 nm north of the highest point on Kauai, elevation 5,243 feet msl. Based upon an aerial examination of the accident scene, a ground swath was noted on steep, downsloping vegetation-covered terrain, on the northwestern inside Waialeale Crater wall. The elevation at the top of the wall, above the wreckage, is about 5,100 feet msl.
The approximate distance and magnetic bearing from the last recorded radar position to the initial point of impact (IPI) is 300 feet and 120 degrees. The approximate distance between the IPI and the main wreckage is 400 feet and 130 degrees. The approximate global positioning system (GPS) coordinates for the IPI area is 22 degrees 04.300 minutes north latitude by 159 degrees 29.783 minutes west longitude.
As indicated by statements from on-scene aircraft recovery personnel, the initial point of impact occurred below the top of the wall, and it was noted by the presence of a straight downward oriented swath in the native vegetation. The swath was a couple of feet wide. The elevation at the top of the swath was estimated at 4,700 feet msl.
The next lower elevation ground swath observed was about 4,600 feet msl. In this area evidence of fuselage fragmentation was noted. One of the components that was found near the elevation was the pitot tube. Other separated components and interior cabin items were found near and below the pitot tube, and consisted of a door, headset, rotor blade tip, and a skid. The upper portion of this area was about 6 feet wide and 4 inches deep. The area increased in width to about 15 feet wide toward the lower portion of the area.
The fuselage was found below this area, about 4,450 feet msl. The instrument panel was found near the fuselage. The instrument panel mounted clock was observed stopped at 0852:33. A main rotor blade was found below the fuselage in a ravine.
Recovery personnel described smelling a strong odor of fuel in the wreckage area and noted a 3-foot circle of fuel surrounding the fuselage. There was no evidence of fire.
MEDICAL AND PATHOLOGICAL INFORMATION
The FAA issued the pilot a second-class aviation medical certificate on August 14, 2002, with the restriction that he "shall wear glasses that correct for near vision."
The operator and family members reported that the pilot appeared in excellent health. He did not have any known physical disabilities.
The FAA's Bioaeronautical Sciences Research Laboratory, Civil Aeromedical Institute (CAMI), performed toxicology tests on specimens from the pilot. No evidence was found of carbon monoxide, cyanide, ethanol, or any screened drugs.
An autopsy on the pilot was performed by the Medical Examiner, County of Kauai, at the Wilcox Memorial Hospital, 3420 Kuhio Highway, Lihue, Hawaii 96766.
Safety Board personnel's review of the pilot's medical records provided by his family noted an emergency room visit for heart palpitations approximately 1 1/2 years prior to the accident. A cardiovascular evaluation performed for the FAA concluded that the palpitations were due to a normal variant heart rhythm, and the pilot was issued a medical certificate. The records also indicated a history of kidney stones, which had not been evaluated. Autopsy findings did not indicate any evidence of cardiovascular abnormalities or kidney stones.
SURVIVAL ASPECTS
The operator's tour flight departure log indicates that the accident helicopter departed LIH at 0802. The operator's general manager reported that the flight was due to return to LIH by its "scheduled" time of 0907.
According to the operator's "Flight Locating Procedures" in its Operations Manual, in the event that an aircraft does not return at its scheduled time, the following actions will, in pertinent part, be taken: Thirty minutes after scheduled return, notify the Lihue Air Traffic Control Tower; and sixty minutes after scheduled return, notify the Honolulu Flight Standards District Office (FSDO).
The operator's office manager reported that she initially notified the Honolulu FSDO between 0920 and 0925. According to the LIH "Facility Accident/Incident Notification Record," LIH received notification of the overdue aircraft at 0943.
The Kauai County Fire Department's "Incident Report" indicates that it received notification from dispatch of the overdue helicopter at 1049. The wreckage was located at 1159.
About 1215, four fatal
NTSB Probable Cause

Arizona Cardinals game vs. the St. Luis Rams. Final score 34 - 10 Cardinals. Confirming the NFC West Championship.
DARREN URBAN writes:
Finally, 1998 has been equaled. 1975 has been matched. Soon, 1947 will be as well.
The Cardinals won the NFC West Sunday by whipping the St. Louis Rams, 34-10, the franchise’s first playoff berth in a decade and their first division crown in more than 30 years. It also secured the Cards at least one home playoff game since the team won the NFL title in Chicago 61 years ago.
“You’re not always promised to play on good teams,” said safety Adrian Wilson, the longest-tenured Cardinal after arriving in 2002. “This is a blessing. This is obviously the best team we have had.
“It’s a lot you can think back on. … Emotionally, I am just everywhere right now.”
Most of the Cards were everywhere after it was over, with coach Ken Whisenhunt getting a Gatorade bath from his players and defensive tackle Darnell Dockett holding up a towel with a homemade message that proclaimed the team “NFC West Champs.”
The season still has three games left before the playoffs, but Sunday evening was about the accomplishment.
“One way or another, we’ve all been through some hard times,” said guard Reggie Wells, who has been a Card since 2003.
The Cardinals (8-5) scored touchdowns on their first two drives, creating a 14-0 lead that gave Arizona control from the start. The Cards did a little running (63 yards on 22 carries), but once again leaned on the right arm of quarterback Kurt Warner and a defense that needed to rebound after a terrible game in Philadelphia.
The unit scored two touchdowns on turnovers, including a franchise record-tying 99-yard interception return by rookie cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. The other came when Dockett scooped up the ball and rumbled 11 yards to the end zone.
Warner completed, throwing a touchdown pass in his 21st straight game (to Larry Fitzgerald) and finding Steve Breaston often (seven catches for 90 yards).
The only hint of life the Rams (2-11) got came after the Cards had built the 14-0 lead. Warner, flushed from the pocket, floated a bad pass into traffic that was intercepted by cornerback Ron Bartell. Bartell returned it to the Arizona 6-yard line, setting up the Rams’ lone touchdown.
From there, however, it was clear the Cardinals weren’t going to be denied again their long-awaited division championship.
Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin had 62 yards on five receptions to surpass the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the fourth time in his career, but the Cards milked the clock often in the second half instead of pushing toward big offensive numbers.
“That was kind of the approach of the second half, play a little more conservative and don’t give them anything easy,” Warner said.
Statistically the Cardinals didn’t dominate – at the end of the game, the Cards had only outgained the Rams, 335-308, and had a little more than a minute edge in time of possession – but it was obvious the Rams weren’t coming back.
Rodgers-Cromartie ended the only serious touchdown threat with the pick he used his world-class speed to run length of the field. And Docket noted the multiple dropped passes the Rams had on their final drive despite being open most times.
“You could tell they didn’t want to play,” Dockett said.
The Cards do have a lot to play for, now that there will be Cardinals’ postseason football in Arizona for the first time.
“What is special about this is where we have come from since I have been here,” Warner said. “What this organization was when I got here and the perception of it and the work we had to do until now, it’s sweet. This is just the beginning, but where we are at, it’s a special accomplishment.”

The American Farm Heritage Museum was one man's dream. The Museum became a reality when a group of men, mostly farmers, sitting in coffee shop, talked about the dream of building a museum to preserve the farm heritage. Sixty farmers, collectors, and civic leaders held a meeting to share their ideas with the public in April of 2002. It was agreed that Bond County, being near the middle of the state and right along 1-70, would be the perfect place. Meetings were conducted, fundraisers were held, and ideas were passed around. In 2002 the land for the museum was acquired and a name for the museum was chosen.
The American Farm Heritage Museum would sit on seventeen acres, along the south side of interstate 70, just east of the Route 127 overpass. Its goal would be to promote and share the heritage of America's rural life: living, farming and travel. One very generous family purchased the land and leased it for ninety-nine years to the American Farm Heritage Museum, NFP organization. After a year of planning, the first 32'x64' building, with a gambrel roof, was completed. It was finished just days before the first Heritage Days Show in July 2004. This building, originally was to be a tractor maintenance shop, but later became known as the Lil' Red Barn Museum.
In the winter of 2005, owners of a truck terminal building in St. Louis gave the building to the Museum, if we took it down. Several members went to work and got the 200'x100' building moved and rebuilt. Since then other buildings and groups have been added to the show grounds.
We are growing with each passing year. Our Main building is the site of numerous events throughout the year. The Lil' Red Barn is a little piece of history, with collections of items from the past. In 2009 this building received the Illinois Governor's Home Town Award. The Tractor Shed displays different makes of tractors and tools of the past. Our Christmas building, which operates as a work shop and houses all the Christmas boxes for The Christmas Lights Wonderland, partners with The Lil' Red Barn, Railroad, Hill's Fort and the Armed Forces Museum to put on a spectacular Christmas display.
The American Heritage Railroad, established in 2003 is a division of the American Farm Heritage Museum. Many rail-enthusiast members realized as farms were connected by the American Railroad so should the Museum have an operating railroad for its historic value, as well as provide a fun ride for visitors. May 10, 2005 the railroad division was officially formed and an intensive search began to procure equipment. Many thousands of hours of volunteer labor, by friends of the railroad, have resulted in over a mile of 13" gauge track being laid, on the grounds. It is our desire to honor the great railroads that have served Bond County, such as the Vandalia, Nickel Plate, Pennsylvania and CB & Q. In 2005 the Ben Winter's Museum railroad was purchased which provided a G-15 diesel train set. The final move of the Ben Winter's railroad was completed in November, in three days with 20 volunteers, 9 trailers and one semi-truck. The collection has grown to include both diesel and steam engines and a variety of rolling stock. The railroad owns three steam locomotives. It is hoped the 1926 Wagner 4-4-2 steam engine will be ready for operation for the 2015 season.
2005 Hill's Fort also joined the Museum. Hill's Fort played an important part in the opening of Northwest Territory. Hill's Fort may have started as early as 1806 when early settlers first arrived. The Fort's location appears on an 1808 survey map by Capt. Isaac Hill, leader of a team commissioned by President Thomas Jefferson to survey the Illinois Territory. The Legislature fixed Hill's Fort as the temporary county seat. Earliest records are preserved from Hill's Fort and include court and marriage dockets. The Bond County seat was later moved to Perrysville and, in 1821 to Greenville, Illinois. No longer useful as a fort or county seat, Hill's Fort was abandoned and fell to ruin.
Following excruciating study of the original site, a replica of the Fort has been recreated on the grounds of the Farm Museum. It is open to the public on the 1st Saturday of the month from May through October and also open, for tours and special occasions. At Christmas time they are open Friday and Saturday nights for the Christmas lights. They dress in period dress and cook over the open fireplace in the cabin, and are eager to answer questions.
In 2012 The Armed Forces Museum, "Memories of Steel", joined our Museum. It maintains as its sole mission, to preserve these important pieces of military history. The Museum houses one of the largest collections of military vehicles in the County. It currently watches over approximately 15 privately-owned and 25 museum-owned vehicles. The members are involved in a program called "Living history" which furnishes displays of t1istoric vehicles and memorabilia and, works with re-enactors at civil events like Armed Forces Day and Veterans Day. Each of these vehicles has an historic story and plays a very important role in connecting us with the soldiers who lived and died in their service to the country.

Greenville is a city in Bond County, Illinois, United States, 51 miles (82 km) east of St. Louis. The population as of the 2010 census was 7,000. It is the county seat of Bond County.
Greenville is part of the St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is also considered part of the Metro East region of Illinois.
Greenville celebrated its Bicentennial in 2015 as one of the oldest communities in Illinois. It is home to Greenville University, the Richard Bock Museum, the American Farm Heritage Museum, the Armed Forces Museum and the Demoulin Museum and a federal prison, Federal Correctional Institution, Greenville (FCI Greenville). It is also home to internationally known companies, including Nevco Scoreboard, the largest privately owned scoreboard company in the world, and DeMoulin Brothers, the world's oldest and largest manufacturer of band uniforms.

One of the first things to go on That Car #3 were these "Red Glass Gems". However, after a little rain, it turned out they were actually clear glass with a potentially dangerous coating that comes off on your hands.
I wanted reimbursed for the cost of glass, glue and to have the misrepresented product tested (within the last few years, Hobby Lobby has had numerous product recall for this same problem)
I spoke with several people in customer service and others in the corporate office. Their replies were that these are "decorative" items, sold in the floral department. I was told they didn't test the product, then told they did. Finally, they said never to contact Hobby Lobby again.
I don't understand how this explains anything. If they know it is not waterproof, then why sell it in the floral department as vase fillers, which are usually filled with water? Why suggest they be used on craft projects, but not specify that they are for indoor use only? Why do they not warn not to use it for kitchen use, such as a trivet?
I sure hope I'm not poisoning myself and all those who come in conatact with That Car....based on their history, I can't be sure. Below are a few more examples of lawsuits and claims against Hobby Lobby.....not very Christian!

Description: Reads in full:
"General, Your letter of the 8th inst. is just received.
At the time my interview with you at Chattanooga, I had already seen
"General Orders No. 50" but, I then (as I now do) placed the portion
of my department referred to, or any other portion you might desire under your
direction.
I will move at once with my troops to carry
out the plan agreed upon between us, and I deem it almost superflous to say,
that I will make no movemnet, that your judgement does not sanction.
With an equal confidence, as that expressed by yourself,
that, where the first thought of each of us, is the success of our cause, no
misunderstanding can arise.
I am cordially + most respectfully, [signed] E. Kirby

Had a good time shooting my first game at Cameron recently. Have several on the docket for this season too, which is exciting. The main reason for the coverage is the arrival of hyped freshman Brandon Ingram, who I've been photographing since he was a freshman playing at Kinston High School. Proud to see how he's grown and excited to follow his future. It's bright.

This lift vendor is showcasing their lift with a 1965 Shelby Cobra. I believe itâs a 289. Any help or correction with the identification will be appreciated.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AC_Cobra
The AC Cobra, sold in the United States as the Shelby Cobra and AC Shelby Cobra, is a sports car manufactured by British company AC Cars, with a Ford V8 engine. It was produced intermittently in both the United Kingdom and later the United States since 1962.
Like many British manufacturers, AC Cars had been using the Bristol straight-6 engine in its small-volume production, including its AC Ace two-seater roadster. The Ace had a hand-built body with a steel tube frame, and aluminium body panels that were made using English wheeling machines. The engine was a pre-World War II design by BMWÂ which by the 1960s was considered dated. In 1961 Bristol decided to cease production of its engine.
In September 1961, Ford provided Shelby with two engines.
AC exported completed, painted, and trimmed cars (less engine and gearbox) to Shelby who then finished the cars in his workshop in Los Angeles by installing the engine and gearbox and correcting any bodywork flaws

"Barrett-Jackson delivered many magical experiences for everyone who joined us in Scottsdale," said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. "From the excitement of the auction block to the thrill rides, exhibits, STEM Fest and live music, there was truly something that everyone in the family could enjoy. We filled our docket with so much diversity that collectors from every walk of life found something they loved. We stay on top of the trends and consign the vehicles that people want, proving once again that the car collector hobby is thriving. Those trends include the growing popularity of Resto-Mods, SUVs and trucks, which are gaining momentum because they appeal to such a broad cross section of people. Iâm especially proud of our support for important charities again this year. We not only raised millions of dollars but also critical awareness that will help make a positive impact on so many communities."

Full stop: This is the most extreme, sporty, and powerful Ford Mustang to ever come with a factory warranty. The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD is derived from the Mustang GT3 race car, with extensive re-engineering and wild aerodynamics aimed at shaving time off hot laps—a pursuit its powerful supercharged V-8 will certainly help with, too. Considering its track focus and high price tag, the Mustang GTD rises above simple muscle cars and competes with elite sports cars such as the Porsche GT3 RS, AMG GT Black Series, and Lamborghini Huracan STO.
The Mustang GTD packs a 5.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine, an arrangement shared with the outgoing Mustang GT500 and current Ford Raptor R supertruck. Indeed, the GTD's engine is a development on that mill, now featuring a dry-sump oiling system and redline raised to 7,500 rpm. According to Ford, the GTD will crank out more than 800 hp—a healthy increase from the GT500's already stupendous 760 hp. That power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transaxle, a completely different arrangement from the regular Mustang's transmission mounted at the back of the engine.

“Our idea behind this car was, let’s take a race car and not change anything for the street,” said Farley. “In fact, let’s add some stuff that’s outlawed in racing, for the street. So it’s like a different kind of project. It’s for AMG Black, it’s for Aston Martin, it’s for the GT3 RS. And we want to beat [that competition].”

It's so sad that this little girl, Navy Joan Roberts, is being abandoned by her father and grandfather. Seems to me the only reason President Joe Biden finally acknowledges her presence now is due to public opinion.

It’s Seven Grandkids, Mr. President

What the Navy story reveals is how dated and inauthentic the 80-year-old president’s view of family is.
Once you could get away with using terms like “out of wedlock” and pretend that children born outside marriage didn’t exist or were somehow shameful. But now we have become vastly more accepting of nontraditional families. We live in an Ancestry.com world, where people are searching out their birth parents and trying to find relatives they didn’t know they had.
I have sympathy for Hunter going into a “dark, bleak hole,” as he called it. I have sympathy for a father coping with a son who was out of control and who may still be fragile. With Hunter, his father can seem paralyzed about the right thing to do.
But the president can’t defend Hunter on all his other messes and draw the line at accepting one little girl. You can’t punish her for something she had no choice about. The Bidens should embrace the life Hunter brought into the world, even if he didn’t consider her mother “the dating type.”
The president’s cold shoulder — and heart — is counter to every message he has sent for decades, and it’s out of sync with the America he wants to continue to lead.

Hunter Biden Made Millions Amid ‘Nonstop Debauchery’
(Bloomberg) -- Hunter Biden earned more than $4 million from a Ukrainian energy company, a Chinese private equity firm and other sources during two years in which he descended deeper into substance abuse, according to his proposed plea agreement to federal tax charges.
Biden’s draft plea was announced in June, but the actual agreement was only made public on Wednesday after US District Judge Maryellen Noreika ordered it unsealed in response to media requests. The deal, which would see the president’s son plead guilty to misdemeanor charges and serve no jail time, was put on hold after Noreika raised questions about the terms last week.
In 2017, Biden made more than $2.3 million, with $1 million coming from a company he formed with the chief executive officer of a Chinese conglomerate, $664,000 from a Chinese infrastructure investment firm, $500,000 from a Ukrainian energy company, $70,000 from a Romanian business, $48,000 from an international law firm and $666,000 from domestic business interests.
The sources of his income weren’t identified in the court filing, but Biden has acknowledged ties to Chinese company CEFC China Energy, Ukrainian energy company Burisma and the law firm Boies, Schiller & Flexner.
Biden made more than $2.1 million in 2018. According to the agreement, these high earnings came as his drug addiction continued to worsen. The documents cites Biden’s own memoir in which he describes “a spring and summer of nonstop debauchery” in 2018.
According to the agreement, Biden was well aware of his tax liabilities from an accountant he hired. The accountant prepared Biden’s returns and sent them to him for review and signature. Despite repeated encouragement by his accountant, Biden never signed or submitted his returns.
According to the agreement, Biden failed to pay his taxes despite having the money to do so. By May 2019, he had spent money he could have used for that purpose “on personal expenses, including large cash withdrawals, payments to or on behalf of his children, credit card balances, and car payments for his Porsche.”
In October 2021, the court filing notes that Biden’s tax liabilities for 2017 and 2018, which were $955,800 and $956,632 respectively, were paid for by an unidentified third party. That individual also paid $45,661 and $197,372 to resolve outstanding tax issues from 2016 and 2019, according to the filing.
That New York Times earlier this year reported that Hollywood entertainment lawyer Kevin Morris lent more than $2 million to Biden to help resolve his tax issues.
Biden’s proposed plea deal also covers a weapons charge stemming from his possession of a handgun in 2018 despite knowing he was addicted to illegal drugs.

Hunter Biden's plea deal falls apart after judge targets agreement: 5 takeaways
U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika, who presided over Wednesday’s hearing, was skeptical from the start and peppered both sides with critical questions.
She asked prosecutors if the deal meant Hunter Biden would be immune from prosecution for other crimes, such as investigations related to his work with foreign governments. The judge was told it didn’t.
That's when Hunter Biden’s lawyer stood to say the agreement with the feds was "null and void," which almost blew up the entire situation.
Noreika, a Trump-appointed judge, later asked prosecutors if there was a precedent for such broad immunity in this kind of deal, and she was told there wasn’t.
The two tax fraud charges carry a maximum of 12 months in prison each, but prosecutors are expected to recommend probation.
Hunter Biden also is charged in connection with the purchase of a handgun in 2018, however. In that case, he is accused of lying on a government form that he was not using drugs when he obtained the firearm.
Under the agreement, prosecutors are offering not to prosecute him as long as he doesn't own a gun and doesn't use illegal drugs for at least two years.
After being grilled by Noreika, who questioned if that was part of the tax plea deal, Biden's attorney and prosecutors agreed that the gun diversion agreement is separate.
The younger Biden's not guilty plea Wednesday will reverse if his attorneys and the federal prosecutors change their agreement − which is expected to take two weeks − to the judge’s satisfaction.
A day before Biden's plea hearing, Rep. Jason Smith, R-Missouri, submitted a court filing that claimed a member of Biden's legal team lied to the court.
Smith, chairman of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, which hosted testimony from two IRS investigators last week, has been one of most outspoken lawmakers about the investigation.
At some point, an attorney employed by a firm that is part of Biden's legal team called the court in Delaware and made it seem as if she worked with Smith's attorneys when she requested the exhibits be taken down, according court records.
"It appears that the caller misrepresented her identity and who she worked for in an attempt to improperly convince the clerk's office to remove the amicus materials from the docket," the judge's order said.
A Reuters/Ipsos survey showed half of Americans believe that Hunter Biden is receiving favorable treatment from prosecutors because he is President Joe Biden's son, including 33% of Democrats and 42% of independents.

Hunter Biden’s plea deal on hold after federal judge raises concerns over the terms of the agreement
WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — The plea deal in Hunter Biden’s criminal case unraveled during a court hearing Wednesday after a federal judge raised concerns about the terms of the agreement that has infuriated Republicans who believe the president’s son is getting preferential treatment.
Hunter Biden was charged last month with two misdemeanor crimes of failure to pay more than $100,000 in taxes from over $1.5 million in income in both 2017 and 2018 and had been expected to plead guilty Wednesday after he made an agreement with prosecutors, who were planning to recommend two years of probation. Prosecutors said Wednesday Hunter Biden remains under active investigation, but would not reveal details.
U.S. District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika, who was appointed by President Donald Trump, raised multiple concerns about the specifics of the deal and her role in the proceedings. The plan also included an agreement on a separate gun charge — Biden has been accused of possessing a firearm in 2018 as a drug user. As long as he adhered to the terms of his agreement, the gun case was to be wiped from his record. Otherwise, the felony charge carries 10 years in prison.
The overlapping agreements created confusion for the judge, who said the lawyers needed to untangle technical issues — including over her role in enforcing the gun agreement — before moving forward.
“It seems to me like you are saying ‘just rubber stamp the agreement, Your Honor.’ … This seems to me to be form over substance,” she said. She asked defense lawyers and prosecutors to explain why she should accept the deal. In the meantime, Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty to the tax charges.
The collapsed proceedings were a surprising development in the yearslong investigation, and a resolution that had been carefully negotiated over several weeks and included a lengthy back-and-forth between Justice Department prosecutors and Biden’s attorneys.
The plea deal was meant to clear the air for Hunter Biden and avert a trial that would have generated weeks or months of distracting headlines.
Wednesday’s hearing quickly veered into confusion, with Hunter Biden at one point answering “yes” when asked if he was pleading guilty of his own free will, before later pulling back in moving forward with the plea.
The judge said she was concerned about a provision in the agreement on the gun charge that she said would have created a role for her where she would determine if he violated the terms. She argued such a role doesn’t exist for judges; the lawyers said they were only asking for the court to play a factfinding role as a neutral party in determining if a violation happened.
“We wanted the protection of the court,” Biden’s attorney Chris Clark said.
She also raised concerns that the agreement included a non-prosecution clause for crimes outside of the gun charge.
The attorneys appeared to squabble over the deal’s terms, too, retreating to their corners to discuss the issues, before they met at the prosecutors’ table and, at one point, could be heard yelling at each other. “Well, we’ll just rip it up!” Clark was heard shouting.
The Justice Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The judge also asked Biden to be more specific about his business relationships and to discuss his substance use issues as she combed through the plea agreement. She asked him to name the Ukrainian and Chinese entities referred to without name in the agreement.
She also asked him the last time he used alcohol or drugs and whether he was currently receiving treatment.
Biden answered June 1, 2019, and said he was not currently in treatment, though he did say he was in an anonymous support program for his substance abuse issues.
“Hunter Biden is a private citizen, and this was a personal matter for him,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. “As we have said, the president, the first lady, they love their son, and they support him as he continues to rebuild his life. This case was handled independently, as all of you know, by the Justice Department under the leadership of a prosecutor appointed by the former president, President Trump.”
President Biden, meanwhile, has said very little publicly, except to note, “I’m very proud of my son.”

Biden IGNORES questions about the collapse of Hunter's plea deal: Turns his back on the press when asked if he would pardon his son as pressure builds on White House
▫️Federal judge called Hunter's plea deal 'not standard' and put it on hold
▫️Lawyers negotiated to have her referee disputes if he is found in breach
▫️The president walked away from shouted questions at climate event
President Biden will face the media again later Thursday, when he sits down with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika repeatedly torched parts of the agreement during a three-hour hearing with Hunter Biden and his lawyers in her Wilmington courtroom Tuesday. This included particular a provision she said would put her in the middle of any disputes over a 'diversion' agreement that lets Hunter avoid prosecution on a gun charge.
She was particularly incensed that she would be involved down the road, but Hunter's and government lawyers told her she had no role in approving the terms his plea deal for tax crimes he would plead guilty to.
Among the provisions she railed against was a paragraph on any potential breach of the deal to defer prosecution on a gun charge – and who would decide if Hunter was found to have violated it.
Normally, prosecutors would make the determination. But under the language pushed by Hunter's team, if the government believes there is a 'knowing material breach' of the agreement, it would seek a determination by the U.S. District Judge in Delaware – Noreika.
The judge called the deal 'not standard' and said it might be unconstitutional by giving her a role normally fulfilled by prosecutors themselves, who are part of the executive branch.
'I don't want to violate the separation of powers or do anything (un)constitutional,' the judge said. She also said she had never seen a diversion agreement 'so broad' that it encompasses crimes in another case.

E vero, concittadini,
saltò in aria e "Butch" Weldy fu bruciato)-
E guardai quei fogli fino all'ultimo
e poi dissi: «Quelli non sono fogli,
non vedete che sono giorni e giorni
e giorni e giorni di settant'anni?
E perché mi torturate con quelle carte e le loro piccole note?».

It is true, fellow citizens,
That my old docket lying there for years
On a shelf above my head and over
The seat of justice, I say it is true
That docket had an iron rim
Which gashed my baldness when it fell-
(Somehow I think it was shaken loose
By the heave of the air all over town
When the gasoline tank at the canning works
Blew up and burned Butch Weldy)-
But let us argue points in order,
And reason the whole case carefully:
First I concede my head was cut,
But second the frightful thing was this:
The leaves of the docket shot and showered
Around me like a deck of cards
In the hands of a sleight of hand performer.
And up to the end I saw those leaves
Till I said at last, "Those are not leaves,
Why, can't you see they are days and days
And the days and days of seventy years?
And why do you torture me with leaves
And the little entries on them?"
Each year, CMU Housing Services partners with the university’s Marketing and Communications team to rebrand one of its residence halls. For the 2017-18 academic year, Stever House, a first-year, co-ed residence hall, was on the docket. The extensive art installation celebrates a longstanding CMU tradition, Buggy and Carnival, as well as Stever House hallmarks, namely Stever being the first L.E.E.D. certified residence hall in the country and the cactus being Stever's emblem.
This main focus of the installation - a large-scale vinyl graphic - depicts three aspects of Buggy:
The Team: shows schematics of the driver and measurements designers take to ensure the buggy is custom built for an individual
The Buggy: depicts the evolution of the buggy
The Race Day: the various components to Spring Carnival Weekend
Other mural highlights include best race times since 1923, a chalkboard vinyl area for new records, a buggy tire “secret recipe,” a race day shopping list, and a sketch of the Carnival cityscape and Buggy course.
Another part of the installation displays Buggy yearbook covers dating back to 1965.
A large-scale photo of a female buggy pusher was intentionally chosen to celebrate CMU’s women and their continued contributions to the university and buggy tradition. Also, this commemorated that, for the first time for the 2017-18 academic year, women made up the majority of the first-year undergraduate class.
Mounted wooden trays add a different texture and dimension to the installation. Each tray shares a hand-stenciled, unique message about what the various parts of the race course represent, in the shape of the buggy course.
Also included: a die-cut window vinyl display that shows the evolution of the buggy throughout the tradition’s nearly century-long history, many visual and live representations of cacti, and a carved wooden sign denoting Stever’s LEED certification.
Stever houses 254 students whose daily experience is impacted by the installation. Stever is the only residence hall that is part of the Admissions tour, leaving an impression on more than 2,000 prospective students and their families throughout each admission cycle. During the summer months, 180 students from CMU’s Pre-College program live in Stever and get to learn about one of the university’s longest-standing traditions.
Housing Services hosted an open house for residents and the community when the installation was complete and nearly 70 members of the community attended. Additionally, we hosted an open house for alumni during Carnival Weekend in April.

Photo taken in March 2000 by Dr. Tracey Keefe of Canton Valley Dental of an extraction site that had failed to heal eight months after a tooth with complete root resorption had been extracted.
This is a sign of bone cancer. Specifically, it is a sign of malignant lymphoma of bone.
The x-ray she took of the same site showed a moth-eaten mixed lytic bone lesion.
Rather than refer me for a biopsy of this lesion, Dr. Keefe, who has post-graduate education in dental oncology, came home while I was painting her dining room in a beautiful platinum damask pattern finish - to pay for her proposed cosmetic dental treatments - and gloated that everyone at UConn Hospital, where she taught dental school classes, was telling her that she looked like the lead actress on the TV show "Law and Order SVU" and then sinisterly told me that I was "going down." I thought she was just kidding around. But apparently, she wasn't.
Three months earlier, while showing her paint samples in her home, she told me that she has no compassion for people with cancer, saying they come from "the lowest walks of life" and implying that they get what they deserve when I asked if it was difficult for her and her husband being in the oncology profession.
She then falsified my dental records to state that my bone was "within normal limits," that my cancer screening was "within normal limits," and that my root tips were "within normal limits" when clearly this was not the case and proceeded to install a carcinogenic nickel-beryllium-chromium post and core into the tooth on the lower right of this photo (which, in fact, had root tip resorption) with the intent to steal decorative paint services from me and to cause me great pain and suffering, torture, and death.
When I told her the bridge HURT and asked her to remove it, she refused. When I asked her for a list of the ingredients used in the bridgework, she initially lied and told me it did not contain carcinogens, then admitted that it did, but said that I would have to PROVE that I had cancer before she or any dentist would remove it. She laughed and said that only "wackos" think their dental metals are making them sick and that I would NEVER be able to prove that dental devices cause cancer or that I had cancer.
She never showed me this photo. I obtained this photo during discovery after filing a small claims suit against her. In her answers to interrogatories in the case, I asked her why she took this photo and she replied: "for educational purposes." But she never showed me this photo. Instead, she lied and told me that she was taking this photo for a "before and after portfolio" she intended to make just like my decorative paint portfolio.
She had her attorneys motion my small claims case to the regular civil docket and then she and her oncologist husband Zia Rahman MD of St. Francis Hospital orchestrated a massive cover-up of her intentional malpractice/malfeasance/murder attempt which resulted in the Chief of Radiology at UConn Hospital (Dr. Douglas Fellows) being reprimanded in 2016 by the Connecticut State Department of Public Health, even though he was on the board at the CT DPH, after he and his resident radiologist Erin Rowe blatantly falsified an MRI report of my head by omitting the fact that there were visible bone tumors under every dental restoration I had that contained nickel-beryllium-chromium alloys, including two additional crowns placed by Dr. Keefe opposite the bridge she placed. Then the second highest paid state employee after Geno Auriemma, Dr. Fellows no longer practices in CT. Dr. Rowe left CT for one year and is now back practicing in New Haven.
CT is the only state in the US where it is not a crime to falsify medical or dental records. I guess that no state legislator ever imagined that a DENTIST - whose father started the Canton Police Department in the 1970s, and when I went to them in 2003 to try to press criminal charges they refused to even take a report - would be SO EVIL as to use this to her advantage to attempt to commit murder.
Gary Griffin, Investigations Supervisor at the CT DPH, told me I should try to get that changed, but I am far too sick and tired.
