This shot was taken on a resent trip to Leavenworth, Washington to see the cities Christmas Lights.

Recently the Kettle Valley Railroad (CPR) bridge, structure KV-039, was replaced by this one as the original one was deemed unsafe. The structure crosses Trout Creek about 20 kilometres west of Summerland on the Kettle Valley Rail Trail. The bridge supports are the original ones, and the KVR Trail is part of the Trans Canada Rails to Trails.

While looking at East Canyon Creek Falls, I looked a little farther upstream and found this waterfall where Tule Creek empties into East Canyon Creek. There wasn't any reference to it on the Northwest Waterfall Survey, but the upper part of the creek seems to be known to canyoneers, here: ropewiki.com/Tule_Canyon_(South_Cascades)

It is very rare to see two class Sr1s ulling a intercity train nowadays. But still, it is a fine sight on the Savonian rail line, especially in the front of buildings from the 1920s.

From 1964 until his death in 2007, Pol Gilson built himself Château Turebaach, stone by stone. The Castle near Mertzig in West Luxembourg is named after the stream that feeds the lake. The town clerk and musician devoted every minute of his free time to this lifelong project, often using recycled stones given to him. His widow sold the castle to the municipality, and we hope that it will be open to the public in the future as a visitor centre with unusual guest rooms (chambre d'hôtes insolites) and a restaurant.

My first attempt at capturing lightning with my DJI Mini 2 drone. Not known for noise free images in darkening skies, these twilight shots turned out pretty good despite the small sensor limitations.

Why rare: weatherspark.com/y/2851/Average-Weather-in-Oracle-Arizona...

May is the driest month of the year with an average of only 0.1 inch of rain. Thunderstorms are almost non-existent.

Getting closer to the mist in the valley, it kind of acts like a rising tide on the towns and road... An allegory?
