Towering high above British Columbia's Okanagan lake and the village of Naramata is the Kettle Valley Rail Trail's Little Tunnel. This short tunnel is probably the most popular tunnel on the trail, the views from here are stunning.
The Trout Creek railway bridge was the highest bridge on the original Kettle Valley Railway line. When built in 1913 it was 72 metres (238 ft) high and189 metres (619 feet) long including the wooden trestles at both ends. In the 1930s, the trestles were filled in with earth, reducing the length of the bridge deck to 76 metres (250 ft). In the background is Okanagan Lake and the Naramata Bench.

I have a DJI Mini 2 and I may share some more stuff later on.
This week's COVID-19 Adventure And Picnic took us to the Christina Lake area of British Columbia to explore some of the railroad bridges. Built in the late 1800s, the Kettle River Trestle Bridge or the Kettle River Number 5 is 157 metres long (515 ft) and crosses the Kettle River near Christina lake. Today the bridge is known as the Smitten Trestle and is one of the longest on the Canadian Pacific Railway.

The Ashnola River on a winter day. Starting in Washington State's North Cascades, it flows north to join the Similkameen River in British Columbia.
I tried several compositions from the road with my camera, but it didn't seem to be working. What I really wanted was to get close to the water, but due to the high and steep river bank I couldn't. Instead, I decided to use my drone. I positioned it about a meter above the water with a 10 stop neutral density filter for an exposure of 1.6 seconds.
Exploring rural roads in the Ashnola River area of British Columbia. This is the first bridge over the river, and I have crossed it multiple times, but it never appealed to me until this day. Maybe it was the autumn colours or the lack of wind, as it gets pretty windy in here, so I stopped and wandered around. I took a few shots from many different angles, settling on this one.
This week's Covid-19 Adventure and Picnic took us to Shinish Creek Wind Farm. The farm is about 16 kilometres on the Trout Main Forestry Road and Southeast of Osprey Lake. These turbines are 100 metres (330 ft) tall and have 55 metres (180 ft) blades that can fling ice up to 350 metres during the winter months.
