Handmade for my tree!

Magic Pumpkins of Oz are pumpkin wand sticks I created as a tribute to the 75th Anniversary of the Wizard of Oz, the book Return to Oz, Halloween, Wizards and Pumpkin Picking.

Created using paper straws, floral pumpkins, scrapbook paper and more. Directions on my blog! xoxo Lisa

This Casio G-Shock GWM5610 "Tough Solar" wristwatch is my "tearing the floor out of the bathroom" watch.

Believe me, I wish I didn't need a "tearing the floor out of the bathroom" watch.

The G-Shock handles the experience better than I do. And looks better afterwards.

Err... is 49 inches a standard spacing for subfloor supports? How does that even work? Oh, wait... I'm tearing out the floor to rebuild it, so maybe that 49 inch thing doesn't work!

Simple details but such a comfy dress. Can't wait for Spring to show up so I can wear it!

22 September - A Doll A Day 2024

This picnic table is old....like at least 10 father's day's ago old. It's got some structural issues that need to be addressed concerning the age of the wood and the materials that (are trying) to hold it together. We've made it pretty as a first step by painting the table top and seats with a rich "roasted pecan" outdoor paint (to give it a little more weather resistance, and to blend with the colors mom has picked out for the rest of the back yard up date; the browns are a neutral base color pallet used so as to not take away from the elements of color & design that really matter.. We plan on giving the underneath (everything obviously not painted here) a coat of a rich stain...as well as the bamboo chair, chairs around the fire pit, & the entire pavilion.

What Alice in Wonderland wedding would be complete without a flamingo or two? So we've put together this free sheet of flamingos just perfect for stickers or cupcake toppers.

To show illumination properly, I can't use flash fill-in, and so this might not be the clearest of shots.

(The kids broke the last two tripods, so no, I don't have one.)

Notice the angle of the 580EX II flash head. I shoulda aimed the vivitar a bit better on top; it caused a slight difference in the backround.

Also, one of these days I'll line the inside of the box with white paper so I don't get any color cast (as you can see in the backround in a couple of the shots.

For a wild idea, paint zebra stripes on a board to create a cool piece of artwork. Basic black zebra stripes are fun paired with a bright background color. Or go extreme and create colored stripes like gray and yellow. Here’s how you do it.

You’ll Need: ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape, Paint, Paint brushes, Putty knife or 5-in-1 tool, Utility or Precision Knife and a wood board.

Step-by-Step Guide:

1.Paint & Tape

Decide what color zebra stripes you’d like and purchase your desired colors. Keeping in mind that your base color will be the color of the stripe, not the background color, paint your board with the base color and let dry.

Then lay down your tape in diagonal stripes, pressing the tape down as you go, and leaving space in between the stripes. Try laying it down in a different direction in one of the corners for a more realistic look.

2.Cut

Once your tape is laid down, cut off the edges of the tape in a random, wavy pattern using a utility or a precision knife. Remove the cut edges so the remaining tape has a curvy edge.

3.Paint

Paint over the entire board, including the tape, with your base color to seal the edges and let dry.

After it has had ample time to dry, paint the entire board with your accent color. This will be the background color.

Once dry, pull the tape at a 45 degree and go wild!

I wrapped the vase using knitting yarns which I have in abundance & secured it with clear glue. Now my old vase looks as good as new with a little bit of character.

This month we have a great way to jazz up your nautical themed wedding invitations.

Here we have used an A6, postcard sized, save the date from our tie the knot range, created a cute little pocket envelope and finished it off with a reef knot. Very smart and yet so simple.

Janie and Triv secure stair railing posts using large lag screws.

One of the posts has a damaged edge, but that area won't show, or at least not much, and it's otherwise a very nice strong plank, so they used it.

A DIY project telling the story of my niece dressed a s a fairy. The lovely 12x6 book opens to reveal the pop up castle surprise!

see more pictures of this in my website gallery under 3D scrap art and get the DIY project in the shop to create your own! And it doesn't have to be a fairy castle, it could be a knights castle or even a haunted castle as the book I had featured in the October issue of Scrapbook Inspirations, pictures coming soon!
