This flower is cut lengthwise to view the internal structure. The pedicel is the stalk supporting the flower. Green, pointed sepals form the calyx, the outermost whorl of the flower. Within the sepals are white petals, forming the calyx. Stamens from the gynoecium. They consist of long, white filaments and yellow, expanded anthers. A long style, part of the pistil of the gynoecium extends from the center of the flower.

Made using two components with the colours reversed. Two hemispheres with sand blasted outer surface, but with polished rims, giving a nice contrast. I positioned the light in the photograph to also pick up the small unpolished lenses which are on the outer surface of the black.
