this was taken on an underwater disposable while kayaking on santa cruz island, back in september
of course, being the person I am, we were going through a current, nearing the end but I was so taken back by the light that I felt the need to stop paddling for a moment and capture the beauty before me instead

Project on 04/15/16 ... these are all taken with a disposable film camera (Kodak Fun Saver). The idea is to limit yourself to the predetermined settings of a camera so you can focus on composition alone (per a discussion thread in the "I Shoot Film" group). The film in that camera is 800 speed, and I liked the way the color turned out. Even though the images aren't sharp, this was a ton of fun to do. All taken over a two hour period near sunset.
another addition to my imagined architecture set :)

直島の資料館の窓に並ぶ百円ライターは、おそらく島民の廃品であると思われる。
それを共同施設の意匠として作品化するところに、下道基之氏の着眼点と構成力を感じた。
The disposable lighters lined up in the windows of Naoshima's museum are likely discarded items belonging to the island's residents.
I could sense Shitamichi Motoyuki's keen perspective and compositional ability in transforming these items into a design for a community facility.
