This beautiful sweet apple and brown sugar challah recipe was absolutely delicious.

This very simple model is folded from an equilateral triangle, and based on a pattern which corresponds to the hypar but on a triangle grid. You can use this folded stand as an egg cup or to display e.g. mineral specimens.

It's just amazing.

I am still working on this display stand, which is a SHIELD Agent badge. I have added studs to the middle to allow the figure to stand on the badge and use it as a display. I have added a light to the base and in 3 of the 4 attached photos see it lit from the front or above. The other photo is of the figure simply standing on the unlit badge.

So in building a display stand for the CIRCORP VETO Starfighter, this happened. I was looking for a way to lock the four angled technic lift-arms with the MOC attachment in a horizontal position, but then realised... No. They do not need to lock horizontally because what they can do is sit quite securely in a front or rear tilt position which =

a) Starfighter in surface attack mode.

Or:

b) Starfighter in afterburner GTFO mode.

Anyway this is one of those unplanned things in LEGO that just seems to work out.

Oops. And that camera lens really needs a wipe...

The Star Wars hype continues with another build for this special occasion...

My latest character build, C-3PO (Episode 7 edition), display on one of my custom tile display bases!

This was quite an unexpected build...I built the whole thing today in about an hour or so...just for fun. I never planned to do this, but I thought it'd be cool.

I'm very pleased with how the whole body turned out, and it's completely 100% my design. The head is the only thing I'm unsure about, and I'm sure some of you will comment that as well.

I've never seen 3PO built at this scale before, and the head was more of a challenge than you'd think.

Enjoy! And May the Force be with you...always.

Photos of my Limited Edition Pocahontas and John Smith 12'' Designer Doll Set. Second of five releases in the 2014 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection. I purchased them in store on the release day, Tuesday Sept. 30, 2014. They are #1352 of 6000, and cost $129.95. I think these dolls follow the artwork very well, and look very good together. I like the colors and textures of Pocahontas' outfit and accessories much better than the original Designer Pocahontas doll (released in October 2011). I also think her face is prettier and her expression gentler and more natural. John Smith also has a good expression, and doesn't look as bland as most of the other Designer Princes. The couple are presented side by side in the box, so are both very well shown. All of the photos of the dolls with the plastic cover removed are done with flash, as the daylight was very dim at that point.

Tanto blade mounted in a Shirasaya (non-aesthetic sheath used for storage).

The proof of concept may be developed and was satisfying to complete. The pin is functional securing the blade. The stand is assembled in three parts, much like the real thing. It's difficult to see it and not desire to try it out. It's simply draws you in!

First six doll sets of the Fairytale Designer Collection, from D23 Snow White and the Prince to Belle and the Beast. It is curious that Snow White, Cinderella and Belle have similar skirts, and Aurora and Ariel have similar outfits and even hairdos. Rapunzel (not shown here) also has a similar outfit to Aurora and Ariel.

I'm addicted, I keep buying these stupid little toys.

Owned by an Invisiton Mercenary named Thoxazole, The Terminal Sunset is infamous for it's many kills against both RHA and Pirate Star fighters with its four Gatling Guns.

During the war with the Terran Republic, Thoxazole was hired to escort the Sandstorm III and the other Liberators as they conducted their raids on pirate smuggling posts to rescue hostages, and slaves prior to the Royal Fleet's attacks on those installations, and saved thousands of innocent lives. Thoxazole was later exonerated by the RHA for his help in those operations. He effectively destroyed 150+ pirate star fighters of various designs during that time, making the Terminal Sunset the most feared straighter in the galaxy!

It's been 11 years since I first posted this star fighter on Flickr as an LDD Screen shot, and now it's finally graduated from concept to full MOC. I had to make some changes to it's core structure to make it stronger, and it's been lengthened by one stud. I even designed a cool display stand that can be adjusted to change the angle of the ship. I also made a second example of this stand and used it on my Star Raider, but I have no good photos of it yet.

An article by someone who knew the value of 'corporate identity' as he and the company he worked for, the London agency W S Crawford, produced many such a 'look'. In the 1955 Penrose Annual Ashley Havinden OBE RDI FSIA wrote about several company brandings and included KLM.

KLM - Royal Dutch Airlines or Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij - developed the 'ball and strip' motif used here in 1949 and extended it across all aspects of branding, including advertisements and printed material. The heraldic device was 'fixed' in relationship with redesigned lettering for the initials KLM - and the circualr disc, reminiscent of the globe served, was set against diagonal stripes. These are described as helping to give "vigorous cohesion" to the brand and also "evokes ideas of gay holidays under sunny awings abroad".

The article includes this page showing examples of the material issues such as adverts, posters, printed materials such as timetables, boarding cards and in-flight publications.

D23 Designer Coronation Elsa and Hans have been fully deboxed, and are back in their original display stand. They are now both facing forward, in more natural poses than the original boxed poses. You can also see the full extent of Elsa's outfit, as it is no longer restricted to be inside of the case.

The cape is magenta with a black embroidery and magenta jewels, and is fully lined with magenta satin. Her skirt is teal with multicolored embroidery and jewels, and is also fully lined. Her separate bodice matches the skirt in color and decorations, and has the black blouse sewn to it. She is wearing blue green stretch gloves, so she is fully covered up. She is holding the royal golden orb and scepter, attached by rubber bands to her hands. Finally she has a golden crown with a blue gem in the center.

Photos of the D23 Exclusive Designer Elsa and Hans doll set. I purchased it on its release day, Friday August 14, 2015. It is Limited Edition and cost $129.95. My set is #758 of 1023. It is part of the 2015 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection, but is a variant of the LE 6000 version. This D23 version has Elsa and Hans in their coronation outfits. The regular version has Elsa in her Snow Queen outfit, and Hans in his normal gray outfit, and will be released in stores and online on October 27-28, 2015.

Hans is in white, and Elsa is in teal and purple. Elsa is also holding her golden coronation orb and scepter. They are posable 12'' dolls. They are supported by built in doll stands, and inside of a display case with a golden nameplate and protected by a clear acrylic cover, with a fully illustrated slipcover over that.

Elsa is very similar to the Limited Edition Coronation Elsa 17'' Doll that was released in March 2014. One big difference is that Designer Elsa has her royal orb and scepter, and a blue jewel in her crown, that are missing from the 17'' doll.

The Pocahontas and John Smith Designer Dolls are now completely deboxed. Here is the empty display stand in which they were originally packaged. The dolls placed back in the stand, in their original positions. However, Pocahontas' hair is much neater than it was originally, and her braids are now visible, being placed in front of her, rather than behind her. Her shawl has also been loosened, so her arms and hands are now in more natural positions. Her feet are now directly below her, and the trim of her skirt is now a bit neater.

Pocahontas has the same body and head as the 2014 Classic Pocahontas doll, but with obvious changes to her face and hair. Her external hinged knee joints are largely hidden by the trim of her dress, and her articulated ankles enable her to stand flat footed.

John Smith has the standard Disney Store prince body, and his satin shirt is sewn to his vest. The faux suede bag can be opened up by undoing the Velcro fasteners. There is a plastic piece inside to keep it full looking, which I left.
