DecoArt One Step Crackle over DecoArt Crafter's Acrylic.
I'm not crazy about these. The patterns in the cracks are great, but what is cracked is a thin, shiny, transparent varnish, not the paint itself. I tried to 'antique' the cracks to make them show. It didn't work that well. The shiny plastic also creates highlights, which may not be that useful.
Or maybe they are useful after all.
I scanned them anyway.

Version 2, inspired by a presentation at my camera club yesterday. It would have been rude not to play with some software.

Displacement maps are psd files with a texture. The light and dark values are used to modify text or images so that they appear to be embedded in the texture. The filter to modify the text is Distort>displace. The displacement map has to be the same size as the file being modified and it has to be a psd file (not jpg).
ugh! I ran a tweak-intensive session on this and I only can say it wasn't meant to look as piece of earthenware. but in the end it was good practice!

Played with this icy, wintry shot with a displacement map effect and hatch texture. I toyed with frame or no frame, but somehow felt more complete with then decided no maybe this better. What do you think?
