The Secchi disk, is a circular disk used to measure water transparency in oceans and lakes. The disc is mounted on a line, and lowered slowly down in the water. The depth at which the pattern on the disk is no longer visible is taken as a measure of the transparency of the water. This measure is known as the Secchi depth and is related to water turbidity.

My good pal, Doug, sent this by priority mail and it arrived with just the second hand slightly bent. (nope not the zig-zag, bent inward) A quick bend out and a battery and it took right off. Keeps good time but I can't get the files to read... :-)
A Working weekend organised by the National Vintage Tractor & Engine Club - Notts Group. Fordson Major is put to work with a set of disks after the ground has been ploughed.

These small disks didn't come out quite like I'd hoped. I have had very good luck with the big pavlova meringue circle, but my attempts at shrinking down the size to fit on a cupcake, needs work. Then again, they will be covered in whipped cream, so I shouldn't sweat it so much.
