One of the disks I had been using was starting to pop open. Give the disk a little twist and I was able to get a finger in there.

Obviously this subjects the media inside to damage.

look what i found! turns out my new blu-ray drive can read my old photoCDs that nothing else can read. ... and flickr understands the files too!

hmm. what flickr doesn't do is get any larger sizes from the file or any metadata. looks like i'll be playing with pcdtojpeg after all.

Since I don't use a disk drive on this pc I am using all this space for hard drives.

For the benefit of city folks, this is towed behind a tractor to break up clods in a plowed field. I have a tractor to pull it around if I can ever get it running.

My external disk's controller died, but fortunately, the disk is still very well alive.

 

That USB to IDE/SATA thingie is awesome for situations like these.
