This year I briefly tried to get tiny details on a couple cars. This is Disk Drive, driven by my friend Lara. She hand paints all the diskette cases.
Nick, Sampson & Kube @ Codorus
Sampson has been our buddy since 2004. In the winter of 2008, he suffered a severe perineal hernia that required a $2000 surgery to repair it. At the time of the surgery, we were told that due to the severity of the hernia that it was likely to reoccur. As predicted, it has reoccurred and he desperately needs more surgery. Other than the hernia, he is a happy, healthy and active dog who should live to his mid to late teens. Therefore, I cannot in good conscience end his life prematurely. I have also contacted a Corgi rescue in hopes that he could be adopted to a family that is more financially able to care for him. However, since my husband and I can't have children, giving him up for adoption because of health issues seems as ridiculous to us as giving up our 9 year old child for adoption because we can't keep up with the medical expenses. As we go through the boxes sitting in our garage for the past 10 years, we found a lot of different kind of diskettes. We have to figure out whether we can still read them and perhaps copy that in a hard drive then throw them away
I recived the special disk from Microsoft today.
This is the disk that will fix all my problems with Vista,,,

Vi möts igen, min fiende jag jag. Varje dag. Varenda fucking jävla dag så sitter han där i hon och hånflinar åt mig. Vet att han vunnit redan på förhand. Vet att bara genom att sitta där och finnas till så har jag förlorat. För han går inte i väg. Inte av sig själv.
Jag har provat att ignorera honom. Jag har provat att skälla på honom. Jag har försökt sova bort honom. Det vill säga: jag har lagt mig och sovit och hoppas att allt bara var en ond dröm. Men nej. När jag vaknar är han där och flinar åt mig igen. Kanske har han till och med växt.
I dag tog jag bort honom runt elva tiden. Sedan jag och Maja ut och gick. Hon somnade i vagnen. Jag gick hem och hon fick sova i vagnen och lät JV lyssna på henne så jag kunde springa en timme i skogen.
Jag vet inte vad JV gjorde förutom att passa Maja. Kanske passade hon henne för mycket och märkte inte vad som pågick bakom hennes rygg, ty när jag kom hem igen så såg diskhon ut som du ser på bilden.
Typiskt. Bara för att JV lagar mat, städar och tvättar har hon fått för sig att det är mitt jobb att diska. Varje dag. Precis som om jag också måste göra något. Fatta vilken plåga det är att varje dag borsta tänderna på detta monster som min diskho är. Att varje dag tvingas ta i skiten och skrubba och spola och skölja och sortera denna disk.
Varje dag. Och nästa dag är den där igen. Kanske det räcker med några timmar så är den där igen. Vad är det för vits med att plocka bort den när den hela tiden kommer tillbaka? Kan den inte få leva och frodas i vår diskho när dne en gång trivs där och valr denna plats att leva på? Kan vi inte leva i fred och harmoni utan att ha våra dagliga uppträdanden?
Drömma kan man göra. Drömma och diska.

Saw this car up on 15th Ave up on Cap Hill. Pretty cool -- there are even tan PC qwerty keys glued all around the perimeter of the windows and steering wheel console.

The dress of Frankish women generally consisted of a tunic, cinched by a belt from which hung an array of pendants. A wrap or cloak went over the tunic. Shoes and hosiery, fastened with buckles, covered the legs. Earrings, necklaces, and hairpins completed the ensemble.
Aspects of this dress changed from the 300s to the 600s, and brooches in particular convey changes in taste. From the 300s to the 500s, pairs of small brooches, in an array of inventive shapes, held the wrap in place. By the 600s, a single large disc brooch, usually elaborately decorated, served the same function. No other piece of jewelry is more characteristic of Frankish dress than the brooch, and no other better demonstrates the virtuosity of Frankish metalworkers.

Inspired by the tarot, which I have studied for well over a decade. the three of disks represents work. It can be finding a job, but at its heart points to sacred work - work that gives us real joy, inspires us, and gives back to the world. The work we were born to do.
Hazard-reduction burns are filling our skies with smoke, which is making for rather different looks.
(Life Cycle)
A floppy disk was named due to its ability to flop as a person waves it in their hand (As to why this is a good idea is another topic of discussion.) People needed a portable device which could store information and be passed around to one another with ease.
1. Introduction
The first design, invented by IBM in the late 1960s and used in the early 1970s was first a read-only then later became read-write format. They were mostly used by colleges, universities, private businesses, and governments. The size was 8 inches.
2. Growth
As personal computers started to increase in popularity in the late 70s, demand grew for storing information and playing games. The size changes to 5 1/4 inches and stores at its highest 1.2 MB.
3. Maturity
They become encased in a rigid form and drop in size to 3 1/2 inches. Despite their small size, they were considered more reliable in keep the information in tact. They also stored at their highest 1.44MB of data.
4. Decline
As USB connector started to become popular on PCs and Macs after 1998, this allow external hard drives and flash drives to become. These devices along with email and other storage options became more reliable than floppy disks.

This is Jungle Disk, a new(ish) backup solution that stores your files on Amazon's S3 network. Once on the S3 network your files are copied multiple times across multiple data centres, minimising the risk of ever losing that data.
Here I'm using their 2.02 Mac version for an initial import of my Documents folder. On the desktop underneath by USB-attached Seagate drive I have the S3 service available as a normal hard drive labeled JungleDisk.
It's inexpensive and reasonably quick and easy.
