Inside hagia sophia there are four big disks hanging on the walls, each one giving the name of god or the prophet in arabic. i can't read the calligraphy on this one, however.
As we go through the boxes sitting in our garage for the past 10 years, we found a lot of different kind of diskettes. We have to figure out whether we can still read them and perhaps copy that in a hard drive then throw them away
This was on a shelf in the kitchen in 2002. The back row is the large disk pitcher, the front row is the mini disk pitchers. The white disk pitcher on the far right has Donald Duck on the front. My pet parrot broke that shortly after the picture was taken. I still have the 2 main broken pieces.

Remember 5-1/4 inch floppy disks? (They were actually floppy!) Guess I've hung on to these since the early 90s. And, yes, since I no longer have anything to read them with, and since they contain nothing of value (just some old Ryerson assignments), I am thinking of chucking them out...

The dress of Frankish women generally consisted of a tunic, cinched by a belt from which hung an array of pendants. A wrap or cloak went over the tunic. Shoes and hosiery, fastened with buckles, covered the legs. Earrings, necklaces, and hairpins completed the ensemble.
Aspects of this dress changed from the 300s to the 600s, and brooches in particular convey changes in taste. From the 300s to the 500s, pairs of small brooches, in an array of inventive shapes, held the wrap in place. By the 600s, a single large disc brooch, usually elaborately decorated, served the same function. No other piece of jewelry is more characteristic of Frankish dress than the brooch, and no other better demonstrates the virtuosity of Frankish metalworkers.
Vi möts igen, min fiende jag jag. Varje dag. Varenda fucking jävla dag så sitter han där i hon och hånflinar åt mig. Vet att han vunnit redan på förhand. Vet att bara genom att sitta där och finnas till så har jag förlorat. För han går inte i väg. Inte av sig själv.
Jag har provat att ignorera honom. Jag har provat att skälla på honom. Jag har försökt sova bort honom. Det vill säga: jag har lagt mig och sovit och hoppas att allt bara var en ond dröm. Men nej. När jag vaknar är han där och flinar åt mig igen. Kanske har han till och med växt.
I dag tog jag bort honom runt elva tiden. Sedan jag och Maja ut och gick. Hon somnade i vagnen. Jag gick hem och hon fick sova i vagnen och lät JV lyssna på henne så jag kunde springa en timme i skogen.
Jag vet inte vad JV gjorde förutom att passa Maja. Kanske passade hon henne för mycket och märkte inte vad som pågick bakom hennes rygg, ty när jag kom hem igen så såg diskhon ut som du ser på bilden.
Typiskt. Bara för att JV lagar mat, städar och tvättar har hon fått för sig att det är mitt jobb att diska. Varje dag. Precis som om jag också måste göra något. Fatta vilken plåga det är att varje dag borsta tänderna på detta monster som min diskho är. Att varje dag tvingas ta i skiten och skrubba och spola och skölja och sortera denna disk.
Varje dag. Och nästa dag är den där igen. Kanske det räcker med några timmar så är den där igen. Vad är det för vits med att plocka bort den när den hela tiden kommer tillbaka? Kan den inte få leva och frodas i vår diskho när dne en gång trivs där och valr denna plats att leva på? Kan vi inte leva i fred och harmoni utan att ha våra dagliga uppträdanden?
Drömma kan man göra. Drömma och diska.

Sampson has been our buddy since 2004. In the winter of 2008, he suffered a severe perineal hernia that required a $2000 surgery to repair it. At the time of the surgery, we were told that due to the severity of the hernia that it was likely to reoccur. As predicted, it has reoccurred and he desperately needs more surgery. Other than the hernia, he is a happy, healthy and active dog who should live to his mid to late teens. Therefore, I cannot in good conscience end his life prematurely. I have also contacted a Corgi rescue in hopes that he could be adopted to a family that is more financially able to care for him. However, since my husband and I can't have children, giving him up for adoption because of health issues seems as ridiculous to us as giving up our 9 year old child for adoption because we can't keep up with the medical expenses.
