Established in 1820, E. Dehillerin is Paris's most famous cookware shop, in the kitchen corridor around Les Halles. Dating back to 1820, the brand got its start by producing gleaming copper pots and pans. In 1890, it moved to its present location on Rue Coquillière, where it also expanded to sell general cooking items.

It’s a wonderful old-time, non-fancy store with a HUGE selection of superb cooking supplies.

The Signature merges a luxury resort with the amenities of a timeshare (like a kitchen) while giving you access to everything at the neighboring MGM Grand -- including its casino, nightclubs, restaurants, entertainment and pools.

The suite life with a touch of home, quiet and exclusive, a hideaway from the crowds of weekend partiers

What we love

The Signature is a nongaming, nonsmoking resort. This means there'll be no noisy slot machines and no clouds of smoke hovering about. Yes, everything -- from the lobby to your suite -- smells nice and clean.

The balconies on select suites are awesome. If you're on a high floor, you could stay out on them for hours surveying all that goes on below. There are incredible views of either the Las Vegas Strip or the surrounding valley (and from some suites you can actually watch the planes take off and land at McCarran International Airport).

The Signature boasts a super in-suite dining menu...so super you may not want to go out to eat. Available from 6am - 2am, it features everything from breakfast, lunch and dinner items to appetizers, snacks and desserts as well as bar selections. You can even request a box of handmade chocolate truffles or an artisan cheese spread be delivered.

The property offers condo-style accommodations but the suites also come with many of the amenities you'd expect of an upscale hotel. For example, relax your weary body in a whirlpool tub after a long day (or night) on the town. Plus, some of the suites have cool TVs that rise from the desks.

Good to know

Regarding those fabulous balconies, you'll have to drag a chair out if you want to sit outside. There's no patio furniture on them.

Thanks to the guarded gate, it can feel strange arriving at The Signature at MGM Grand the first time. You'll be given a pass there and told which tower you're in. Each tower has its own valet service on the ground level (plan for a wait if you request your vehicle at busy times, like immediately following checkout). There is no self-parking area at The Signature, so if you want to self-park you'll have to make a long trek to the garage at MGM Grand.

Speaking of walking, expect to do a fair amount when you stay at The Signature. Consisting of three identical towers, it typically takes at least 10 minutes to walk from the farthest one to MGM Grand. The towers are all linked together and connected to the megaresort via moving walkways. Of course, MGM Grand is huge in itself, so once you get there you'll have to do more walking.

Oddly enough, even though the suites at The Signature come with either kitchenettes or full kitchens, you're not going to find any dishware, silverware or cooking utensils in them. You'll have to ask at the front desk on arrival or call the concierge to get those delivered. There is no charge for this, and you may request any number of plates, glasses, pots, pans and more that you desire.

This is a non-smoking hotel. Guests who light up in their room will be assessed a cleaning fee upon checkout. Smoke in designated areas, such as MGM Grand's casino next door.

Insider tips

As a guest of The Signature you can take advantage of all the amenities at MGM Grand -- like the Grand Pool complex. We recommend you do this because even though each tower at The Signature has its own heated outdoor pool, the one at MGM Grand is tricked out -- it boasts five pools, three whirlpools and a 1,000-foot-long lazy river.

If you're hungry and don't feel like going over to MGM Grand or the Strip, try Delights. This deli located in the second tower serves a lot more than just sandwiches. You can get a good skillet scramble for breakfast or one of several different pastas for dinner. And when you're looking to relax with a drink, check out The Lounge, a swanky bar located in the first tower.

Got a coffee craving? Now there's a coffee maker in your suite, but if you don't feel like brewing your own cup, head to the ground floor of the first tower where there's a Starbucks.

MATSA Week 2 Home Decor - Succulent subject matter on dishware. Lesson learned this week: What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. www.leighfoxmedia.com

I've been experimenting with this paint, since I love jadite. This color is called jadeite (a variation in spelling). I saw a really bad review of it on YouTube but I wanted to try it. The person was using it on life size glass items. I have mixed feelings about it.

On the glass jars I used the method they recommended in their PDF file to let the paint run down the item and drip off. It ended up pooling some at the bottom of the jars, and it left brush strokes, some bubbles and empty places. I did about 3 coats and it's "ok" but looks worse in person than in this pic.

On the plastic bowl I just brushed it on with a soft brush trying not to leave brush strokes. I had to do several coats. It still shows some brush strokes and left some bubbles.

Then I tried it on some green plastic 1/12th pieces of dishware but it was leaving too many brush strokes so I washed it off.

It's not awful, but I can't really say I would recommend it. It's cheap though, if you want to give it a try. I got it at Michaels and it comes in blue and pink and maybe another color.

A couple of dormant boilers in an old china plant.

Perhaps these are bowls for an ice cream social....made in japan with a Chadwick sticker on one.

Love those estate sale basements.

Stack of 20 leaf plates that go with my dishware set. Not sure what these are really good for at the table but they are really cute and great for pictures.

My favorite koi was this one. It reminded me of patterns I've seen on Asian dishware.

Under the soft glow of lantern light, a garden awakens — where silk breezes carry the scent of jasmine, bamboo whispers with the wind, and every corner tells a story of faraway lands. Inspired by a tapestry of Oriental cultures, this scene blends the serenity of Japanese courtyards, the rich textures of Chinese pavilions, and the romantic charm of Middle Eastern terraces.

From carved wooden arches to intricate ceramics, every detail invites you to pause, breathe, and wander… as if the world has folded into one intimate space. Here, East meets East, and the traveler’s heart finds its perfect home.

White plates are my favorite dishware staple and we use them everyday, but with this technique, you can create beautiful DIY watercolor plates that will add a pop of color to your dishware collection! You can also add this charming look to bowls, cups, platters, etc. Use any color of paint to...
