Public art exhibit, Discovering Columbus, by Tatzu Nishi. In the middle of Columbus Circle, a modernist living room was constructed around the top of the Christopher Columbus statue, with scaffolding and 6 flights of stairs to reach the suspending living room. Christopher Columbus emerges from the cocktail table in the middle of the room. Fall 2012.

Wild Dog Design
The Pinta and the Nina, replicas of Columbus’ ships are open for tours in Lorain Friday, June 18-20, 2010. The ships are docked at 123 Alabama St., Riverside Park, until their departure early Monday morning June 21st. Both ships will be touring together as a new and enhanced ‘sailing museum’ for the purpose of educating the public and school children on the ‘Caravel’, a Portuguese ship used by Columbus and many early explorers to discover the world.
While in port, the general public is invited to visit the ships for walk-aboard self-guided tours. The prices are $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors and $5.00 for children. Children 4 and under are Free. The ship is open every day from 9:00 – 6:00 p.m. No reservations necessary. Glenfinnan, Mallaig & Jacobite Steam Train
A stunning tour that takes us to film locations from movies such as Highlander, Local Hero, Skyfall and Harry Potter.
Enjoy an optional trip on the Jacobite steam train – a journey described by many as one of the great railway journeys of the world. The train crosses the Glenfinnan Viaduct, known the world over for its remarkable engineering and more importantly, as the way to Harry Potter’s Hogwarts.
From Glasgow we follow the full length of Loch Lomond before we make a short stop for coffee at Tyndrum.
Then it’s on to Glencoe, a film location used in Skyfall and Harry Potter and the setting to one of the most shameful episodes in Scottish history. We stop here to admire the stunning but haunting beauty of the Glen.
In 1745 Bonnie Prince Charlie raised his standard at Glenfinnan in an ill-fated attempt to reinstate the exiled Stuarts on to the throne of Great Britain and Ireland. The Glenfinnan Monument which lies at the head of Loch Shiel was erected in 1815 in tribute to the Jacobites who fought and died in the cause of Prince Charles Edward Stuart. The views and scenery here are simply spectacular.
In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Loch Eilt was the spot where Hagrid was seen skimming stones across the water. As we pass Loch Eilt look out for the Loch Eilt pines – a fine example of the ancient Caledonian pine forest. An essential stopping off point is the Silver Sands of Morar with superb coastline views across a turquoise sea to the Isles of Eigg, Rum and further north to Skye.
Arriving in Mallaig you will have approximately an hour to enjoy a walk and take in the local atmosphere. There are shops, bars, restaurants and the chance to sample some local fish and chips.
From Mallaig you have the option to return to Fort William on the Jacobite Steam Train (optional extra) or you can return on the coach. For those taking the optional steam train ride, your driver-guide will arrange your tickets and will be waiting for you at Fort William.
Our return journey takes us over Rannoch Moor and to the Drovers Inn. For over 310 years the Drovers has welcomed the great and the good including the infamous Rob Roy MacGregor.
It is said to be “haunted” and there are many tales and sightings of ghouls and ghosts wandering around this ancient Scottish Inn. These days it is the perfect place to enjoy some evening refreshments by a roaring log fire before returning to Glasgow.

early saltpeter mining operation." This was a great tour and I hope to get back and go on others.
