A fun fog shoot, and I met some good folks along the way! ISO reduced to 31 to get to a 30 second exposure with a 10 stop ND filter... To me, the color corrected result was not as appealing as this version - one of the benefits/happy accidents of a color casting ND filter!

"To photograph is to hold one's breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It's at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy."

Capturing the zooming colors flying across the surface of a soap bubble is a terrific way to make your heart skip a beat.

It was a terribly cloudy morning and we had little hopes of seeing anything interesting when we spotted 3 of these Grey Wolves.

This is an endangered species of the grasslands which are fast disappearing across the country. It is active at night and best seen early morning or late evenings. The Wolves hunt the animals and birds of the grasslands which include Blackbucks, Hares, sometimes cattle like Goats or sheep.

We weren't expecting this at all, and then they crossed the road right in front of us. There were a pack of 3 that were trying to hunt - and we could sight them all. They were howling and interacting with each other.

The area it frequents is dotted with poultry farms, fields, plots for sale and even some constructions - sadly! The grasslands are not even protected which is quite bad!

Thanks in advance for your wonderful feedback and likes.

The sunset disappears over land to the far right during summer months but earlier in the year you can still catch if with a fair walk out into the sea at low tide. The boats save the day as far as foreground interest is concerned. Thanks for looking :-)

IMG_6368: It's cold here! Monday a storm blew through and the winds created some drifts. See here the disappearing lanterns, tweaked a bit and displayed with a texture that I borrowed from borealnz (have a great holiday, Jill!) when she posted it to the Textures For Layers group a while back.

The Mazarine blue's population is distributed throughout continental Europe reaching into the Arctic Circle. There was a large native population in Britain in the early part of the 19th century, but it disappeared before the 20th century, Recently, the Mazarine blue's numbers have been declining in its European range (particularly Scandinavia) and the reason remains unclear.

C'mon Ingleborough I know it's you.

This morning was a heroic failure. After watching the Snooker final until 1.00am I vowed to get up at 6.00 and do sunrise over Ingleborough. Needless to say, I slept until 7.00 and missed the sunrise, so may just as well have stayed in bed anyway. Still, it was a great day for a walk and the evening light made up for the poor start.

Here, Ingleborough hidden in a layer of

cold mist.

Back in Cadzand, I wanted to spent some more time here to grab some long exposure shots. My first batch was amazing, I hope you like my latest from the same place. Again i was very lucky with the weather, a clear sky with some clouds and a nice little wind to create the streakes.

Assumption Cathedral on the right and Annunciation Cathedral on the left....The Assumption Cathedral is now the main temple of the Moscow Kremlin, and in the XV-XIX centuries it was the main Orthodox church of the Russian state. All Russian tsars were crowned here. Weddings and baptisms took place here. They prayed here before the military campaign. Metropolitans and patriarchs were elected here and buried here.....The Annunciation Cathedral ("the Cathedral Church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos that the Great Sovereign has above" or "on the porch") is an Orthodox church in Moscow, located on the Cathedral Square of the Moscow Kremlin. Consecrated in honor of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos, it was the first house church of the Moscow grand dukes and tsars of the XVI century and the first tsar Mikhail Fedorovich before the construction of the Verkhospassky Cathedral......Golden domes shine,

Crowning temples exalted faces,

And years and centuries are reflected in them,

The stories are many-sided.

Golden domes are burning,

Casting off the sun 's glare,

Displaying as if in mirrors,

The harsh fate of a great country.

The difficult history of the Slavs,

Their knights on the battlefield scarlet tunics,

That they fought to the death keeping the motherland,

Defending Russia from the encroachments of the wild steppe.

From the hordes of foreign basurman,

With the sword of those who came to the boundless expanses,

And other quirky tyrants,

Creating ruin and strife.

But Russia did not disappear and did not dissolve

Within the infinite universe,

And preserved the memory for centuries

About the exploits of the great and conquests.

And the golden domes did not go out,

The exalted faces of the temples have not been erased,

And reflected in them as if in mirrors

The harsh history of a great country.

And there is no need to praise an already great country,

She will declare herself properly,

But no one should forget history,

And you don't need to take swords out of their scabbards either.

Lost in Fog the tree is about to disappear in this early morning fog in North Carolina.

Sunset, West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

After floating and breaking up, this once much larger iceberg would soon disappear in the waters of southern Greenland. Taken from a zodiac on a relatively lovely summer day.

For looking close on Friday’s theme “zipper”.

As we had a few sunny moments this morning I went to the lake at Monrepos to look for goslings but didn't see any there. On my way home I decided to quickly stop at the river where I ran into a family of Egyptian geese with 8 goslings. Sadly by the time I arrived at the river the sun had disappeared behind dark clouds and it even started to rain. I may try to find them again on a day with better light because today it was really too dark for good photos.

Linus didn't want to wait any longer for the ice in his water bowl on the terrace to melt. He removed the ice from the bowl and used his paws and claws to drag it into a sunny spot. Pretty clever and it worked very well as the ice started to melt quickly but the plan had one major flaw. Water doesn't keep it's shape like ice does and it tends to disappear in the ground before you have a chance to even think of drinking it which is probably the reason why we have a water BOWL on the terrace instead of free floating water. :)
