HWW.

taken near the village of Carran, The Burren, County Clare, Ireland.

This has been a summer for the record books with unprecedented heat and days without rain. It is so very worrying. Traveling with visiting family to Hurricane Ridge in the heart of the Olympic National Park near where we live, I was amazed at the lack of snow - I have never seen it like this. It breaks my heart. The park service was actually irrigating the alpine meadows around the visitor center - they were so dry!

So sorry to see her disappear.

Fog, ice, snow and dark gray sky made Lake Michigan "disappear" into grayness. But I was sure it was still there, even though I couldn't see it : ) Most of the ice and snow probably melted a couple of days after our trip.

The step pyramid has five square terraces, then two octagonal intermediate steps and finally the classic cylindrical stupa structure with bell, turban, double lotus, banana bud and hti. Stairs lead up to the fifth terrace on the four sides. They used to serve the faithful so that they could reach the terracotta slabs with scenes from the Jatakas on the individual terraces, which have since disappeared; nowadays tourists go up to admire the sunset.

If rising sea levels continue unabated, shorebirds will continue to lose substantial amounts of feeding and breeding habitats. This in turn will lead to large reductions in their populations. We need species diversity to maintain any kind of balanced and healthy environment. The long term effect of species loss will not be good for us.

Common brimstone (Gonepteryx rhamni)

I am going to be off Flickr for a few weeks for personal reasons. I'll see you sometime in October....

As everywhere in the world caring for the young ones is a kind of instinct for most animals and human beings. To watch the lioness with her three cubs was really a joy for me. The young ones were playing, took a pause, walked away from their mother, were running around. The lioness waited, turned around, walked backwards and at the end they disappeared together into the bushes.

I wish you all a wonderful Christmas time.

John Mayall: Nature's Disappearing

Man's a filthy creature

Raping the land and water and the air

Tomorrow may be too late

Now's the time that you must be aware

Nature's disappearing

Polluted death is coming, do you care

Garbage going nowhere

Soon the dumps will spread to your front door

Lakes and rivers stagnant

Nothing lives or grows like years before

Nature's disappearing

The world you take for granted soon no more

Read about pollution

Make manufacturers uncomfortable

Boycott at the market

Containers that are non-returnable

Aluminum, glass and plastic

Eternal waste that's not destructible

We're a generation

That may live out our natural time

But as for all our children

Born to suffocate in human slime

Nature's disappearing

And we are guilty of this massive crime

I love the unique and majestic sight of an iceberg sculptured by the elements. May future generations get to enjoy them.

The rural area has its unique scenery. At north of Ontario, scattered first nation tribes and Mennonite community villages. For the first nations, the old traditions have diminished, such as, women were farmers and did most of the child care and cooking, men were hunters and sometimes went to war to protect their families, both genders practiced story-telling, artwork and music, and traditional medicine, etc. The lifestyle is similar to us, except politically independent and has its own government, most of them live beside the lakes… However, Mennonite community, Amish families and communities maintain a more primitive lifestyle than the surrounding culture. Amish lifestyle differs from community to community, for example, no TV and internet for some Amish communities… Work at sunrise, rest at sunset.

The photo was taken at Johnson Township, a vibrant agricultural community with a seasonal Farmer’s Market supported by the local Mennonite community. Beautiful sunshine day, but very cold and strong wind. Mennonite community village was almost disappeared in the blowing snow.

Although my sister and I were wrapped like balls in -30C, still felt being swept away by blizzard ... But we were happy like kids in the blowing snow... 😉

it was cold.....10 degrees below zero...

Small, short-tailed, flat-headed sparrow found in weedy grasslands. Warm buffy coloration with clean unstreaked breast. Thin white eyering and yellow patch above eye. Back and wings are patterned with gray and rufous. Easy to see when singing atop a shrub, but can be very secretive much of the year. Best detected by its dry, insect like trill preceded by a few introductory notes. Typically not in flocks. (eBird)

We were looking for Loggerhead Shrikes when we heard the distinctive song of the Grasshopper Sparrow. There it was, singing on top of the thistle before disappearing back into the long grass. It did this several times, to the delight of us and several other birders.

I was extremely happy that this opportunity presented itself toward the end of a rather dull and gloomy shooting day.

Special thanks to my Flickr friend Gary for geo-tagged this location, otherwise I'll had never being able to located myself.

The photo was taken during Sergey's performance at the D'Addario Guitar Festival - NAMM Musikmesse Russia, in Moscow.

Sergey Tabachnikov (born April 17, 1987, Samara, USSR) - guitarist, musician, leader of the Nobody.one group. Without any musical education, he became one of the most popular guitarists in the country.

Tabachnikov plays compositions that are completely different in style. But critics and viewers alike agree that his work is nevertheless closer to instrumental and blues rock. He began playing the guitar at the age of 11. Sergei is self-taught, he does not advise others to use the services of teachers, believing that if you wish, you can learn to play on your own.

Sergey Tabachnikov, in addition to his musical career, maintains his blog on YouTube, in which he uploads reviews of guitars and accessories to them. The videos are very popular among both novice musicians and professionals due to their interesting presentation style and specific humor.

Sergey takes the performances of his group more than seriously. The funny guy from the video about guitars disappears somewhere and a professional musician appears on the stage who completely surrenders to playing the guitar.

The Nobody.one group is actively touring Russia and the CIS countries, participating in many festivals, including the invasion. However, speaking of popularity, unfortunately, the group is known only to a narrow circle of viewers, but we hope this situation will change soon, and the general public will learn about the talented guys and their leader!

A beaten path winds its way through the dense forest, beckoning the adventurous to explore the unknown. As it disappears into the horizon, the promise of new discoveries and breathtaking scenery entices all who dare to follow it. With each step, the crunch of leaves and the rustle of branches create a symphony of nature, inviting us to immerse ourselves in the beauty of the wilderness. Come and explore, for the wonders of the forest await you.

A lion is perhaps not what springs to mind when seeing this, but the information sign next to this little waterfall, at the Shinto shrine Kanda-myōjin in Tokyo, will tell you that it is. And it is not as strange as is sounds. This is a komainu, a lion-dog, a common guardian at shrines and temples in Japan - but they are sometimes (such as here) also referred to as stone lions.

This is actually just one in a set of three, the cubs parents are at the top of the rock (or mountain, as it is actually written in Japanese, even though it is not translated as such), looking down on their offspring. The parents are quite old, believed to have been carved in the 18th century, but the cub disappeared and the original rock (mountain) destroyed in the devastating earthquake of 1923. The cub and the rock was reconstructed and reunited with the original lions in 1989, in celebration of the new emperor.

You disappeared

You disappeared

You disappeared

Like the melting ice on trees

That fall like teardrops

For so long just her wet skin

Her long hair dripping

Stepping from a shower

The winding of her hips

That create a thirst in me

But now, nothing

And time breaks down

One second into another
