Sunset
From Amsterdam towards Hongkong via Northern corridor to avoid dangerous zones in Ukraine, Middle East and North Africa. We flew via Moscow as the most logical choice.
Taken with a Samsung mobile as I was not allowed to bring my back-up batteries in my hand luggage for security reason. Make sure you check this with the airlines.

Foggy morning on Stave Lake. My first time on the lake that is not that far from Vancouver. On the trip still looking for a fall colors we found fog , lots of green trees , very long forestry road that took us to the pick of the sizable hill … still not much of the fall colors. Next week another trip in different direction .
Ahhhh … a lot of people know that I can't spell … sorry that is just not my thing … but this is Stave Lake not Steve's Lake ( Steve was with us but didn't say that it was his lake ) . Stave is a shaped wooden board used for making of a barrel. Barrels were used like containers today for shipping old kinds of goods … wet as well as dry.
On Sunday evening I was lucky to witness a very unusual sunset over Beeston Rylands. My usual view would be to photograph the setting sun over the River Trent, which is out of view to the right of this photograph, but the clouds in the direction of the setting sun were relatively flat and dull. Looking in the opposite direction, however, was this view of stunning pink clouds. The only down side, perhaps, was the lack of foreground interest, so I gave greater prominence to the sky, using the path to the right and muddy field for context.

I went down to the Quays this morning with the intention of shooting some long exposures of architectural details, but woke up to a dull grey featureless sky. Besides, my head wasn't in the best place so I didn't even bother to take the tripod. After our compulsory Costa coffee and toast, Mrs R went around the shops and I wandered in the direction of the Detroit Bridge... this is what I came back with.

KombiRail Eurpo DE802 ( 285 113) met een containershuttle richting Neuss (Duitsland) heeft de helling naar de Moerdijkbrug bijna bedwongen en kan dan zijn reis vervolgen en zal via Breda en EIndhoven en Venlo naar zijn eindbestemming rijden.

KombiRail Eurpo DE802 (285 113) with a container shuttle in the direction of Neuss (Germany) has almost conquered the slope to the Moerdijk Bridge and can then continue its journey and will drive via Breda and EIndhoven and Venlo to its final destination.
