I believe you just need to take the first step, see the world.
The Vermilion Cliffs ....considered to be second "step" up for the five-step Grand Staircase of the Colorado Plateau, in northern Arizona and southern Utah.
If I never come through
Yes it haunts me
Sunny days I'd miss you
Yes it haunts me
First you see it, then you feel it, now I'm caught
And we're making our own thing
Now I'm following you out to the coast
If I never come through
If I never come through
Don't tell me I lost a step
Criss-crossed in the wrong direction
Found myself in a conversation
From a missed connection
Standing there in a purple dress
Point my eyes in the right direction
Find myself in a conversation
From a missed connection
When going through a tunnel, the only direction is to go toward the light.
There is a tunnel.
Today we got the news......there is light.
Breathing easier. 'Nuff said.
The neons all around us were exploding with bright lights, the smell of french fries mixed with grilled meat was tickling our nostrills. I was already drooling with hunger when she grabbed my hand and started running in the direction of the white car, laughing like a child on a Christmas day. She then stopped just in time and turned to me
"Do you remember the first time we came here and sat on this car roof ?"
"Yes I do, it was long ago" I replied with a smile
"One year, nine months and 25 days ago" She replied without a hint of hesitation. "And do you remember what I did ?"
"You made me jump on top of that car!"
She laughed and squeezed my hand gently "I promised you I'd be there through thick and thin, as a best friend would. Today I make the vow to stay through thick and thin, as a Lover would"
She sealed that vow with a deep and sweet kiss, her hand still hoding mine. I suddenly felt a gentle pull as she helped me up to sit on that roof once again, her pinky already holding mine firmly, the most delicate smile gracing her lips as we both closed our eyes to savour the moment.
One year, nine months and 25 days ago
I love you so much ♥

RKO_6928. Almost grown up and ready to leave!
Another chick was picked on the head all the time, most probably forcing it to leave and start its own career? Or do they simply grow up a maximum of two chicks?

Spot the two birds :)
For a change, this is a new (outside!) photo, taken just a few days ago at the wonderful Britzer Garten, one of Berlin's biggest and most beautiful public parks (please check my album for more "Britz bliss", if you like).
For better dynamic range, I've used exposure bracketing (three images), pre-processed the images in DXO PhotoLab (sharpness and DeepPrime denoising only), from which I directly went into HDR Efex Pro to combine the images. I'm trying to get away from the annual Adobe subscription, and combining images from an exposure bracketing series in HDR Efex instead of Lightroom is one step into that direction. Unfortunately, whenever I think I can finally leave Adobe behind for good they come up with improvements such as the new "supersize" function (now also available in LR), a ton of new presets for LR, and other interesting stuff (and I'm still used to the LR/PS workflow, and the layers in PS). Well, maybe I'll be ready next year ;)
Extra sliding was done in Color Efex, where I added some "Brilliance and Warmth" and a tiny bit of "Contrast Color Range".
Happy Sliders Sunday, Everyone, stay safe and have a nice week ahead!
RKO_0387. Close-up of a preening Kingfisher (Alcedo atthis). Preparing for another meeting with Mrs. Kingfisher!
Luckily the winter was mild this year and we now see some common kingfishers returning to their location!

In the summer of 2009, we put on a self-produced play. 4 night performances. I had text and direction, Eldir costumes. The most amazing thing was that we made a profit.
A young couple on the trail trying to decide on the right direction. Don't we all have this problem when in unfamiliar surroundings. Don't worry, search and rescue wasn't required.
A little about La Città Bianca
Ostuni is known worldwide as the White City (La Città Bianca).
Here, the residents of the old town receive white paint from the municipality every year to whitewash their houses.
it is different. Believe me.
Although I managed to capture another dove.
Well, maybe it was the same....
"How does it feel, how does it feel?
To be on your own, with no direction home
A complete unknown, like a rolling stone"
We went on a ride, but wind went the wrong direction, and we had a bumpy landing in a Woodinville parking lot. We bounced three times,

It may not be widely known yet, but Santa Claus himself also has magical powers, and in times of need, it is activated, (as is the case now, because there are no reindeer available).
How it works exactly is not entirely clear, but our photographer from the 'Origami Newspaper' was able to take a picture of it. Here we see a group of 4 Santa Clauses holding each other and then suddenly standing in the light. The energy comes from within and also indicates the direction that each person should take to get to the different places of the human world. Then they suddenly left like a flash of light. Maybe you'll see them tonight.
