Swallowtail - caterpillar on her food plant (burnet) against the setting sun in the haze on a high-altitude meadow.
The light for the caterpillar comes from a reflector and a modest use of LED lamp.

Azure Kingfisher with a freshly caught fish that looks too big to eat! A particularly fine specciment of a bird with what looks like freshly minted nice new blue plumage.
As we were driving along the road, next to Isenberg Crane Reserve, we spotted something out of the right side of the automobile. We pulled up next to it and about 3 feet away, on a tree stump, was a Red Shouldered hawk that was preparing to eat its dinner meal.
A jaguar at the Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle looks like he wants to invite me to dinner. I declined. #jaguar #DinnerInvitation #WoodlandParkZoo #ジャガ #Seattle
Every evening the same routine plays out. Papa lands on a nearby telephone pole within view of his family and eats the head of his fresh catch. Only then does he fly over and drop the mutilated fish into the nest. I've spent numerous late afternoons watching this process over and over, but never where the entire family was visible. This time, all four chicks, including the runt, picked up their heads at the perfect moment. Unfortunately, Mama, in the rear, decided to duck down.
This female bald eagle (2 of her juvenile offspring are sitting just below that fence) rushed in from the sky to grab this gopher.
I once read that eagle vision is so superb that if one was sitting on top of the Empire State Building, it would be able to see a dime on the sidewalk below.
This is the second time this month I've had the privilege to be near when both a Golden and a Bald eagle came in for a landing. It was an amazing experience to witness both occasions as they are so powerful and big when seen this close!

I think this is a song thrush but I do get confused with the song thrush and the Mistle thrush so would appreciate your opinion and thanks for all your faves and comments x

A great blue heron spear fishing for dinner caught a small carp but still had a fair bit bit of trouble swallowing it....
I watched these determined pigeons awaiting the departure of the diners at this table and once they did the feast began in earnest.
After a successful hunt, the Rough-leg flew off to enjoy his dinner. Unfortunately I had a tough time following him and had my shutter speed set a bit low-- this was as good a shot as I got. Riverlands Migratory Bird Sanctuary in West Alton, MO
Eastern Phoebe bringing home dinner. Not a particularly distinctive little bird but it would seem the eave that goes over our front door was well suited for a nest. They move so fast I've hardly been able to look at one long enough to ID but they like the corner of my deck to stage the approach to the nest. This evening I opened the window and set my camera to view this corner with a remote shutter trigger (like the first shot but with different light). It worked out OK and I caught this Eastern Phoebe bringing home a dragonfly for dinner.

A soft slide of sorts (again) but that's what I'm going with! All the best and hope you have a Happy Slider Sunday.

Sunset at the Dinner Tree in Derby, Western Australia. The boab tree at the One Mile Dinner camp is one of the main attractions on the Derby Pastoral Trail. A great place to watch the sun go down.
This broad-bodied Darter was lucky and catched a fat meal. I've been lucky too and could take this photo of it!
What a beautiful dragonfly!
