One of a series of "painting with pixels" images that were done in the Summer of 2022 while I was recovering from Covid 19.
I discovered a way to move pixels around, in direct response to my hand movements, like moving paint around on a canvas. With this one I decided to build up the image with straight lines, as opposed to the usual curves and waves of the previous pieces.
The "wands" referred to here are the Wands of the standard Rider-Waite Tarot card deck. In Tarot, wands represent creative energy. They are strong and powerful and they can be used benevolently or confrontationally. Here the intention is to show a bit of both energies. In the standard deck each suit only goes up to 10. For this work I thought to amplify the energy of the wands by multiplication.
