e a lei,
non restò che il ricordo di un attimo rubato,
di due occhi, profondi come lama di spada,
di un istante,
impossibile da dimenticare...

In this season of frenetic activity take time to remember the deeper meaning of the holidays - the triumph of light over darkness.
"In the depth of winter I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer."
~ Albert Camus
March brings the tiny Iris reticulata blooming sometimes in purple and sometimes in blue. They are blooming right now in my yard and I couldn't help but paint one with the help of DDG (Deep Dream Generator) and Topaz Studio.
"Is the spring coming?" he said. "What is it like?" ... "It is the sun shining on the rain and the rain falling on the sunshine ..."
~ Frances Hodgson Burnett
My texture created with Procreate and iColorama.

"You can live years next door to a big pine tree, honored to have so venerable a neighbor, even when it sheds needles all over your flowers or wakes you, dropping big cones onto your deck at still of night."
-Denise Levertov

So, every thing started at the moment I saw the original photograph of those beautiful hydrangeas taken by my dear friend Richard Eshelby.
The digital painting is created from scratch in Corel Painter.
The background is the mixture of several textures, and the hydrangeas coming out of the frame are .png images.
No AI is used in this image.
And, thank you so much for your time, and support. Very kindly.

The bobcat (Lynx rufus), also known as the red lynx, is a medium-sized cat native to North America. The small tufts on a bobcat's ears are difficult to spot at even moderate distance. The bobcat is crepuscular, and is active mostly during twilight.

Upfront I have to say that the original photo is not mine, it was taken by my friend when he took his new puppy back to visit her mother. I instantly loved the expressions on their faces. The mother dog's backstory is truly amazing. She was (I can say only that it was miraculously) rescued by her owner from being shot by a hotel manager in Mexico for begging and being a pest in front of his establishment.
Of course, when her owner (after driving from Mexico to WA state) got her home, she was found to be pregnant. My friend is now the proud and loving owner of one of her puppies. This is such a "feel good" story that I had to share it. Of course, I had to paint my friend's photo of mother and child.

After all the festive activity of the holidays, it is good to relax and keep your sunny side up in January. I captured this image of my cat, Mr. Meowzer, as a kitten on my Iphone and thought it captured my mood perfectly.

This is the lake, more than once I have called "healing place"
And it really is ! I wanted to imagine it so, tonight, with little vegetation whitewashed of frost and a giant moon that illuminates coldly the water that never freezes here, unlike of the lakes of many Flickr's friends....
Thanks so much for stopping by : )
