GIMOKUD INSTALLATION VERSION 2

ceramics, twine, wax, paper, leaves

"Every gimokud plucks one of the broad leaves of a plant called baguido, and twists it into a vessel suggesting the form of a boat, similar in pattern to the cermonial dishes of hemp-leaf in use at Bagobo festivals and called by the same name, kinudok. Each one of the gimokud seats himself upon his individual leaf vessel, and there sits, waiting, waiting, until the hot rays of the sun cause him to dissolve, leaving the leaf-vessel full of water."

Thanks for stoppin’ by, always enjoy our visits, a little memento from my last waltz in the woods on a spectacular late summer day at Thornton Bales Conservation Area. Only minutes north of the city, yet miles away from the big smoke.

Simply had to get out one more time before autumn leaves begin to fall, while everything is still lush, still green, still wonderful and warm. Needless to say, it was a glorious day in Mother Nature’s backyard and my favourite way to spend the last day of summer. More…

Happy belated Thanksgiving wishes to all Canadian flickr’ites. Hope you had a joyful celebration with family and friends.

cheers!

Help me explore the concept of online quid pro quo. You get great visual content and I get extra credit in my emerging media class. Or at least that's the cunning plan...

Also, if you have an idea for a custom graphic you need for your own blog or website, please share with me at mkhmktg@yahoo.com. I'll give it my best shot to create something for you.

Painting with light behind the ice curtains at the Rock River Canyon Ice Caves.

The most difficult long exposure shot I've taken. The pic required me to manually focus and compose the shot in the dark, open the shutter, climb up into the caves, paint the ice from behind with a flashlight, climb out, slide down, and close the shutter. Difficult, but rewarding.

i Pad

I am working in a number of ways with the brushes app on i Pad. These drawings relate to my own work in traditional media, in the case of this portrait I look back to an early self portrait from 1982.

Dear ANDORE Fans! The brand has been working for more than 3 years and is trying for you, delighting you with new releases, exclusives and just a warm atmosphere. Over the past few years, we have gathered in a large family of 6k+ people! This is a force that makes me very happy and gives me energy for new creations! Because of this, I know that my work is not in vain!
