The view of Lac la Belle, MI from the chairlift at Mount Bohemia. The sun peeked through the clouds for just a few minutes, and I happened to be in the right spot at the right time.

Minus the H2O, atmosphere, and full gravity, :) this is probably the closest I'll get to walking on the moon, but I have my fingers crossed that NASA will indeed recruit me one day to photo document their return to the moon Ha! :)) ...a winter tundra landscape along the Southern Shore of Lake Superior.

“Achilles glared at him and answered, "Fool, prate not to me about covenants. There can be no covenants between men and lions, wolves and lambs can never be of one mind, but hate each other out and out an through. Therefore there can be no understanding between you and me, nor may there be any covenants between us, till one or other shall fall”

I spent a weekend hiking and taking pictures at Zion National Park in Utah. This was a 20 minute exposure at 1am. An hour after I took this pic I began climbing to the top of that mountain. 3 hours later, with my path illuminated by a nearly full moon......I arrived here (could traverse no further) I sat for a half an hour taking pics and then began climbing down. The only problem was that the moon had set and I could no longer see my path. So, I found a big flat rock and layed staring up at the stars until the sun came up. I was covered in cactus quills and freezing cold, but I wouldn't have traded that experience for anything.

The most personally important photo I've taken.

I've never in my life felt truly alive until this moment. I was completely aware that I was alone and at the mercy of whatever was around me...but I wasn't afraid. I felt at home. I felt like the only human on Earth...that everyone else was somehow alien, and as if it were my planet...and my planet alone. I was concious of the fact that I had ignored all standard protocols to entering the wilderness. I had told no one where I was going, I brought very little water, no food...and not enough clothes. After the moon had set, it was pitch black and I could hardly see my hand in front of my face for about an hour. That kind of darkness at 6000 feet is disconcerting to say the least, so I found a crevasse, and hid inside of it to warm up. When the sun finally peaked, and I could truly see where I was, it was as if I was seeing a different planet for the first time. It was my very own moon landing, and for a split second...I was Neil Armstrong.

Remembering easter 2011. Visualmashup and Fingerpainting with Brushes on iPad 2.

In 1998, I worked on a great number of digital illustrations, they are not really part of my main work, but really were experiments getting to grips with digital techniques.

Perfect lighting this afternoon for pictures, the storm finally passed, and the sun was out all day...very refreshing.

Though the city lights drown out the visual effect, the dark areas in this pic are normally lit up with house lights...and being -10 with the windchill, neither I, nor my dog, were going to wait to see the lights turned back on. That.....will have to wait :)

A real mess but a first attempt. I'd been looking at a lot of work by David Hockney who draws on his i Phone and i Pod.

A single exposure HDR shot of an old Falcon Squirre station wagon in the fall woods of the U.P. as the sun sets behind it. Perfect Timing!
