Moonlight hazy, over fields

Shrouded white with snow,

Through winter mists,

That herald of darkness

The mournful caw-caw of crows,

Harsh requiem to the dieing day,

Ushers out the fading light

At day's end

I turn my gaze upon the east

And the hope of a new dawn

Ballad of the Moon, Moon

The moon came to the forge

wearing a bustle of nards.

The boy is looking at her.

The boy is looking hard.

In the troubled air,

the wind moves her arms,

showing lewd and pure,

her hard, tin breasts.

'Run, moon, moon, moon.

If the gypsies came,

they would make of your heart

necklaces and white rings.'

'Child, let me dance.

When the gypsies come,

they will find you on the anvil

with your little eyes shut tight.'

'Run, moon moon moon.

I can hear their horses.

Child, let me be, don't walk

on my starchy white.'

The rider was drawing closer

playing the drum of the plain.

In the forge the child

has his eyes shut tight.

Bronze and dream, the gypsies

cross the olive grove.

Their heads held high,

their eyes half open.

Ay how the nightjar sings!

How it sings in the tree!

The moon goes through the sky

with a child in her hand.

In the forge the gypsies

wept and cried aloud.

The air is watching, watching.

The air watched all night long.

This substantial Presbyterian Church in Dawson City Yukon was a reflection of the prosperity and commitment of the congregation it served. Erected in 1901, it boasted a pipe organ and carved oak pews that could accommodate 600 parishioners. The church bore the architectural stamp of the Gothic Revival popular elsewhere in the country. Together, with the spacious manse, of Second Empire design, it was one more element of familiarity in respectability in a city that was rapidly changing from its boom-town origins,

to a more modern era.

*(Note) This church is practically leaning up hill. Of course, it is now 122 years old, so I'm sure it's getting ready to lay down and rest.

Better hurry on up to Dawson City if you want to see it.

Most of the fall color is on the ground now around our cabin. With that in mind I thought I'd look for a weed to photograph before Mother Nature covers everything with her fluffy white blanket. I found this fireweed stalk curled up from the cold, and found it rather interesting. Took the shot into my digital studio, and voilà - Mother Natures Art Work.

Here's my friend Madonna last year on Halloween, with a lot of digital goofing around by yours truly in various software. Hey, it's Halloween! Anything goes...

We shot a number of photos, intentionally parroting Edvard Munch's painting, The Scream. Hey, it's art! Anything goes...
