Day 29 of my 31 prompts from 31 lists Drawtober!

Today's is "Silent Mist" from IG artist maruti_bitamin

Since I've already done Silent Hill fanart twice this month I opted for a nice and simple spooky ghostie.

digital drawing and color.

These are some of the better results of an attempt at blind gesture drawing -- this involves looking only at the subject and not at the paper (whilst drawing).

para este día se me ocurrió dibujar a el cavernícola tigre dientes de sable sisck quién está viajando de manera nómada junto a su garrote a otra zona.

For day 10 of Inktober today is nomadic's turn

For this day I came up with the idea of drawing the caveman saber-toothed tiger Sisck who is traveling nomadically with his club to another area..

I made this with the Sketch Club iPad app!

Digital assemblage of digitally photographed/scanned hand drawn imagery and digitally drawn imagery

17 x 11 inches

I did this image a few months back for a silent auction here in Atlanta. I used this image to experiment with taking photographed imagery, scanned imagery, and digitally hand drawn imagery and forcing them all to sit in the same pictorial space. It was a neat exercise without much of a message behind the image.

Ralph Baer is the man who headed Mattel when Mattel invented the Intellivision, one of the first home gaming peripherals. The pixellated ghost looming behind Mr. Baer is the ghost of Willy Higginbotham, the creator of the first videogame. Is Mr. Higginbotham even dead? I'm not sure. But his gohst is totally in this print.

I found out about March of Robots late on the 22nd of March. The prompt for the 22nd was "Race". I assumed they meant the running type and not the ancestral type. This was the first drawing I've posted from my ipad pro.

For some reason, Brazilian model Flavia Lucini liked this photo on my Instagram account.

I have been playing around with my iPad's graphic programs. I drew this one in LiveSketch. I used the Zentangle pattern, Betweed, to make the hat.

Xenomorphic - a trilogy of unique blends and tones and colours and shapes crafted from moods. In an unusual form; having a strange form.

Part of a series of gestural sketches of dancers in situ, done while watching dance students practice their craft. They are quick 1 to 2 minute sketches using a stylus and tablet with a laptop and Adobe Illustrator. All were done at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Vancouver, Canada as part of the Salon Series.

Live sketching.....I made this with the Sketch Club iPad app!

Hot, & stinky humid.

Hmmm, do not like this darker backgound but the hanging popsicles didn't "pop" against the pink.

Simple abstract that I happened to make in the draw/redraw iPad app, but probably could have been done much the same in one or two of my other iPad art apps. The texture of the colors reminds me of chalk or pastel, although the app calls it pencil. Of course, it's actually digital hocus-pocus that lets me keep changing the size and pressure and color of the marker. So even though the shapes in this jumble are very simple, the mixed colors are more complex. I was trying to get away from the pure, simple colors that are typical of the first unmodified marks in digital paint apps. (An artist whose simple ink abstracts with subtle colors that I like very much is Julius Bissier.)

By the way, the distinct and amazing feature that the draw/redraw is named for is the ability to change the shape of lines in a much more direct and simple way than with vector handles. The first version of draw/redraw was full of bugs and crashed too much to be usable, but the latest version is much more stable, although there are still some bugs that need fixing. However, I didn't use the redraw feature here because there aren't any distinctly drawn lines to reshape -- it is a mess of lines made to create colored areas. The redraw feature here would reshape or bulge out only one line and not the colored shape area, unless it is paint filled within an enclosed line. (draw/redraw fills enclosed lines much better than any other painting app that I've tried, so I should get into using that feature that it does so perfectly.)
