My latest work for my uni brief - Mixed Media Photography, decided to look into the concept of reality and fantasy and creating images which don’t really exist by mixing photography and digital drawing together.
& playing with Procreate for iPad. Now for the icky part, trying to smush as many clowns in there as possible.
para el día 6 de Inktober hoy toca a emigrar
para este día se me ocurrió dibujar a pteri quién está volando en los cielos para emigrar a tierras más cálidas 🐦.

For the 6th day of Inktober today is time to emigrate
For this day I thought of drawing Pteri who is flying in the skies to emigrate to warmer lands 🐦..

2.5 years ago...
Wooly Willy App on my iPod Touch to add additional hair to an existing magic marker on paper self-portrait.
This was a collaboration with AK.
Original Post:
The latest little ap we've downloaded to my iPod touch is Wooly Willy, which allows you to draw 'magnetic shaving' mustaches and other hair on either the traditional Wooly Willy image or any image of your own. Here Ann and I have collaborated in giving a previous portrait some additional facial hair. The truth is my eyebrows are a little wild and getting wilder as I get older - so this may not be so far from some future truth. As Picasso famously replied when told Gertrude Stein did not look like his portrait of her "She will...".
This image also seems apropos of printmaker printmaker Ruth Paesch & my attempt to see the Frida Kahlo show at SFMoMA today... I can't say I was directly influenced by the show, however, because the museum was having a power outage and we went to Ocean Beach instead.
Ann says as long as I'm mentioning such fabulous women as Ruth, Gertrude and Frida, let's not forget Patti Smith.
OK, bed time...

This is a past self-portrait from my Daily Portrait Project, in which I made a non-photographic image of myself every day for three years, from 3/15/07 to 3/15/10. This series of self-portraits can be viewed in it's entirety at studiojuliakay.com/portraitproject.

Digital painting
8 x 10 inches
This is a digital painting I did for practice, to get more of a feel for how to lay down colors with one another and sculpt a three dimensional object on a perfectly flat surface with a perfectly flat medium, i.e. digital painting. I was too lazy to put the decals on the sides of this machine, so maybe this image isn't finished. Most likely it's not, so just consider this a process shot, not the final product.
Any suggestions?

This is a re-draw of an old character that I did back in 2013. It is done with Krita.

This is my ipad experimental drawing of Walter White, one of TVs "best" villains.

Here is the steeple of Notre-Dame-du-Foyer church, on Bellechasse, corner of 41rst avenue, in Rosemont, as I see it from home. The wooded area between us and the church is mainly the Cité-jardin neighborhood and the small municipal golf on Viau street.
