A hot robot is still a robot. My last #marchofrobots2018 . The prompt for the 30th was "hot." I started this on the 30th but couldn't complete it until April 2nd. I wanted to do something different from the big clunky robots in the rest of my #marchofrobots drawings. I'm mostly happy with how it looks. It's been fun.
Blue Skies and Clouds for a Backdrop to Mountains. The original image I took with my Nikon D800E is located here on Flickr (www.flickr.com/photos/14723335@N05/11990798293/in/album-7...). The view is from a trail while hiking to Bertha Falls with Mount Boswell and a few other peaks of the Lewis Range looking to the southeast.
For this sketch, I wanted to try something different and explore the other Adobe drawing type software on my iPad. I'd been working with Adobe Illustrator Draw for well over a year, but I recall using Adobe Sketch when I first started. I had this image I'd taken in Waterton Lakes National Park and decided that would be my "canvas" to try more of a black & white digital painting. That's what this image is about. A sketch as if I sat on a red chair with a view looking across the mountains of Alberta and then into Montana with Glacier National Park.
In the left foreground of the painting, you'll find that stick figure image of me "hiking" with my Cubbies hat, loving my time for another trip in Alberta :-)
Samantha, female Lowland Gorilla, Erie Zoo, Erie, PA. Samantha is now one of the oldest gorillas in captivity in the world (if not the oldest now). She's alone now, and often stares at the window at guests, but is rather expressionless. She's a sad gorilla, and perhaps one of the most "human" ones I know. Since I live near her, I get to visit her often.

This is the little witch of the world of Ambrosia (world created by me and one more friend). The witch is called Gares, a tamer of magical beasts from the city of Ballna.
Ballna is renowned for its extensive grounds, a large city with contemporary structures, rich in magic and technology, having a system that supports all types of beasts and magical creatures in the metropolis itself, because, in addition to structural extravagance, they are much better known for to be the '' city of beasts '', where people focus their studies on animals and the art in taming them, using them as pets or mounts, or as a form of protection against the evil ones that haunt the lands beyond these. Famous for being able to nurture wildlife, mixing with the magical essences of such exotic creatures and taming them with the heart, or with fear; many reject the fear method to tame them, but the ancient tradition still exists in some people / races and they prefer it that way, however, Ballna had recently changed these customs and more and more tamers choose loyalty and sympathy for monsters.
What would it feel like? To reach out and touch a dragon ... Feel the texture of the scales, the heat or the cold of someone else's skin, the breath of life in your hands ... The wild look fixed on yours, engulfing your soul; the connection with a monster, the gift of understanding that not all beasts are terrible. Many tamers describe that to tame a monster, is to be connected to a life, to a friendship, for the rest of the times.

Essa é a bruxinha do mundo de Ambrosia (mundo criado por mim e mais uma amiga). A bruxa se chama Gares, uma domadora de bestas mágicas da cidade de Ballna.
Ballna é reconhecida pelos terrenos extensos, uma cidade grande com estruturas contemporaneas, ricas em magia e tecnologia, possuindo um sistema que suporta todos os tipos de bestas e criaturas mágicas na própria metrópole, pois, além da extravagância estrutural os mesmos são muito mais conhecidos por serem a ''cidade das bestas'', onde as pessoas focam seus estudos nos animais e na arte em domá-las, usando-os como pets ou montarias, ou como forma de proteção contra os maus que assombram as terras além dessas. Famosos por serem capazes de acalentar a vida selvagem, mesclando-se com as essências mágicas de tais criaturas exóticas e domando-as com o coração, ou, com o medo; muitos rejeitam o método do medo para domá-las, mas a tradição antiga ainda existe em algumas pessoas/raças e estas preferem assim, porém, Ballna mudara esses costumes recentemente e cada vez mais os domadores escolhem a lealdade e simpatia para com os monstros.
Qual seria a sensação? De estender a mão e tocar num dragão... Sentir a textura das escamas, o calor ou o frio da pele alheia, o respirar de uma vida em suas mãos... O olhar selvagem fixo nos seus, engolfando sua alma; a ligação com um monstro, o dom de compreender que nem todas as bestas são terríveis. Muitos domadores descrevem que domar um monstro, é se ligar a uma vida, a uma amizade, pelo resto dos tempos.

Sketchbook pro app, UFC stylus, toned paper background
Details: this is a digital pencil sketch in sketchbook pro on the ipad 2. I used a sketchbook paper image from google as the background. It was my first time shading with pencil in sketchbook i usually use pen or marker filter brushes it was fun.
My latest work for my uni brief - Mixed Media Photography, decided to look into the concept of reality and fantasy and creating images which don’t really exist by mixing photography and digital drawing together.
