Cranberry and Macadamia cake photographed for use on the Seriously Good Cake website -- www.seriouslygoodcake.co.uk/
when I first came to the Netherlands in 1999, my company offered me a reloaction package which consisted of 4 months in a hotel and a flight home every fortnight until I found a place of my own to live. The hotel they put me in was the Kok Hotel on the Koninginneweg. I can still rememeber the receptionist on the first day saying ".. so a double room for 120 days...!"
Now, on our last night in Amsterdam we are staying in the same hotel, only that it has been renamed Park Plaza Vondelpark. This was purely by internet booking chance, but the circularity of it all pleases me...
(and of course, this is a homage to Keksoant and all those who ridden the homage juggernaut..)

Flights to Helsinki-Vantaa airport don't often fly over the city of Helsinki itself, but on this July 2006 flight it passed over the centre. These photos are looking mostly south-east.
Jatkasaari and Kalasatama were both still working cargo harbours, as is evident from the colourful stacked containers and cranes. Now they're being developed into residential areas, flats are going up and some are already occupied.
The buildings being constructed near Finlandia house and Töölänlahti aren't there, it's still greenery.
The Music Centre is still under construction here, but ready now.

I never thought I'd see Jiraya holding an Orochimaru plushie. Believe it or not Orochimaru plushies do exist! It'll be a tough choice between Orochimaru or Ruk if I want to add a creepy plushie to my collection...
My new Kodak Z1015 Digital Camera. It's 10 Megapixels, 15x Zoom, Optical Image Stabilization, a wide angle lens and can record HD movies.
Picked it up from CitySoftware.com.au for $339.00 AU and Kodak is offering a $50 mail in rebate so a really good buy for the specs.

Echinacea is supposed to ward off colds and stuff like that and I have to say that it seems to work. Of course it may only be a placebo but who cares as long as it works.
Part of a series of shots I took of the 'better harf' as she was walking about in our room while we were on vacation in Greece. I liked the light play and decided to share ... lucky you!
Since my point and shoot got run over shooting yesterday's challenge (I was just kidding!), I had to buy a new camera! Seriously, Cathlon already said it for me when she posted her picture of a book, camera and computer. 2012 was a very stressful year for me, and by the end of the year I was exhausted. At the beginning of the year I discovered Flicker and this group, and it awakened a latent interest in photography. I have been suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome for years and have been gradually watching my ability to participate in all my creative outlets fade away. Words cannot express how exciting it is for me to have found this new creative outlet, one that fits my energy levels. Photography and this wonderful group have truly been a way out for me; a way out of my boredom, depression, and creative funk. I really, truly feel that I have been given a new lease on life. When I am taking pictures and editing, I am being energized and renewed. So thank you, Yvonne, for starting this group, and thank you everyone else for making it such a warm, friendly, supportive and challenging place!
This is my new camera. I finally got that new DSLR I've been wanting. Hopefully I"ll soon be taking pictures WITH it instead of OF it!
