Resting between bites...following the rules of good digestion! This robin was sitting on the very tip top of the roof of one of my neighbor's across the street. I zoomed in and when I uploaded I saw that h/she had food or something in it's mouth!! I love the color of it's chest. I have a few other shots of him/her and may post them later. Using pioneering new technologies in Superfoods and nutrition, CFTRI has developed amazing new products which are on show at CFTRI stall at Pragati Maidan:

· Chia and Quinoa based Chocolates and Laddoos;

· Omega-3 enriched ice-cream;

· Multigrain banana bar

· Fruit juice based carbonated drinks.

New Delhi, 24th November, 2016: CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), the premier national institute for food technology is exhibiting a range of new agri-products now grown in India, called Superfoods that bring health and nutrition best practices to everyday eating and living to the common man. The exhibits by CFTRI at the Trade Fair at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi both impress and surprise with the range and scope of their utility and potency.

The Indian population is presently going through a nutrition transition and there is an increase in incidence of diabetes, impaired heart health and obesity while there is still rampant malnutrition in the nation.

Keeping in mind an effective solution needed to address these concerns, CSIR-CFTRI is working on bringing Superfoods to the Indian population. CFTRI works on various facets of food technology, food processing, advanced nutrition, Superfoods and allied sciences. Superfoods are foods which have superior nutrition profiles which upon regular consumption can help improve health and wellness of the consumer.

CFTRI has developed the agro-technology for growing Superfoods viz. Chia and Quinoa in Indian conditions. Chia is the richest source of omega-3 fats from a vegetarian source and Quinoa has excellent protein quality and low glycemic load carbohydrates. Comprehensively, Chia and Quinoa have potential to improve population health and both blend seamlessly into traditional food preparations.

CSIR-CFTRI also infuses the spirit of entrepreneurship in their students. One of the doctoral students after completing her academic program started her own technology provider start-up company, Oleome Biosolutions Pvt Ltd. In a global first, CSIR-CFTRI in collaboration with Oleome, has developed a 100% vegetarian, Omega-3-enriched Ice cream called “Nutriice” using Chia oil.

CSIR-CFTRI is also in the process of the final phase of testing of diacylglycerol (DAG) oil, a unique cooking oil that has “Anti-Obesity” functionalities. One can consume it as part of daily regular diet and while the oil is available as energy but does not get stored as fat in our bodies. The final phase of human clinical trial is presently under progress.

CFTRI has also designed and developed snacks with advanced nutrition designs to support the nutrition needs of growing children. These have been implemented in the aganwadi levels to complement the existing government mid-day meal and will be scaled up soon. The products, such as Nutri Chikki with spirulina, rice beverage mix, high protein rusk, energy food, nutri sprinkle, seasame paste and fortified mango bars have been well received by the children and the anganwadis alike. Multi-grain Banana bar is a new addition to in this product portfolio.

Another exciting area of multidisciplinary research being done at CSIR-CFTRI is on nanotechnology, food technology and nutrition. Nanomaterials are known for their characteristic properties and CSIR-CFTRI is working on the use of nanoparticles for various applications. One of our interesting developments is the design and development of food packaging material with nanoparticles with antimicrobial and antioxidant properties to improve shelf-life of processed foods.

CSIR-CFTRI is also working on “Smart Foods” to answer specific needs of the consumer. These promising and specifically designed innovations are being developed for better sleep, better skin health, improved digestion, better cognitive performance and better stress management. The high science is brought into a simple food product, like a cereal bar which helps one to be more attentive over the day, or a unique dosa mix that helps in working out better at the gym with lower perceived exhaustion and even a special soup to help sleep better at night!

Speaking on the sidelines of the CSIR-CFTRI exhibition at Pragati Maidn, Prof. Ram Rajasekharan, Director, CFTRI said “Our mandate is to find innovative solutions to India agricultural and nutritional challenges. Our aim is to develop products to make Indian agriculture productive, efficient and at a consumer level gradually replace drugs with foods that will promote better health and wellness. We strive to deliver our best in improving food security and nutrition security, also developing a stronger, smarter and healthier India”.

1. Takbiratul ihram

Stood up, raised both hands parallel to the ear, then fold it in front of the abdomen or lower chest. This movement is beneficial to smooth the flow of blood, lymph nodes (lymph), and arm muscle strength. The position of the heart below the brain allows blood to flow smoothly throughout the body. We raised both hands, stretching the shoulder muscles so that the flow of oxygen-rich blood become fluent. Then second hand in front of the abdomen or lower chest. This attitude prevents interference from various joints, particularly in the upper body.

2. Ruku '

Ruku 'is marked perfectly straight spine so that when placed on the back of a glass of water is not going to spill. Head position with the spine straight. This movement is beneficial to maintain the perfection of the position and function of the spine (vertebrae corpus) as a support body and the central nervous system. Heart position parallel to the brain, the maximal blood flow in the central part of the body. Hands resting on knees serves to relax the muscles of the shoulder to bottom. In addition, the bow is a training tool for bladder thus preventing prostate disorders.

3. I'tidal

Wake up from bowing, the body back up after raising his hands as high as the ears. I'tidal is a variation of the posture after bowing and before prostration. This movement is useful as an exercise is good for the digestive organs. At I'tidal done, digestive organs in the abdominal massage and relaxation experience alternately. Sure to give effect digestion.

4. prostration

Menungging by putting both hands, knees, toes, and forehead on the floor. Prostration useful to pump lymph into the neck and armpits. Posis heart above the oxygen-rich regions of the brain can cause the maximum flow to the brain. This flow effect on a person thought power. Therefore, you should do prostrations with tuma'ninah, not in a hurry so the blood is adequate capacity in the brain. This position prevent someone from interference hemorrhoids. Especially for women, both bowing and prostration has tremendous benefits for health and fertility of female organs.

5. sitting between prostrations

Sitting after the prostrations consist of two types namely iftirosy (tahiyat initial) and tawarru '(tahiyat end). The difference lies in the position of the feet. when iftirosy, the body resting on his thighs that are connected with nerve nerve Ischiadius. This position is able to avoid the pain in the groin, which often causes the sufferer unable to walk. Sitting tawarru 'very good for men because the heel to curtail the bladder (urethra), male sex glands (prostate) and vas deferens tract. If done correctly, this position can prevent impotence. Variations in the position of your feet and tawarru iftirosy 'cause the whole leg muscle also re-stretch and then relax. Harmonic motion and pressure to maintain this flexibility and power organs of our movement.

6. Greeting

Head to the right turning movement and since e left the maximum. Salam useful to useful to relax the muscles around the neck and head, improving blood flow in the head so as to prevent headaches and keep the facial skin tone.

Prostration movement is unique. Has the philosophy that the human prostrate themselves meneundukkan as low, even lower than his own butt. From the viewpoint of science of psychoneuroimmunology (the study on immune from the psychological point of view) that Prof. understood better. Soleh, this movement of human deliver the highest degree. Why?

By making the movement routinely prostrate, the blood vessels in the brain is trained to accept a lot of oxygen supply. At the time of prostration, heart position is above the head which allows maximum blood flow to the brain. That is, the brain get oxygen-rich blood supply that spur cells work. In other words, prostration which could trigger tuma'ninah and continuous improvement of intelligence.

Every inch of the human brain needs enough blood to function normally. Tidk blood will enter the nerve in the brain, but when someone fell down in prayer. Fibril, they require a certain blood for a few moments alone. This means that blood will enter the vein the following prayer time, as is already required in Islam.

Research on top has got recognition from Harvard University, United States. Even an American doctor unfamiliar declare themselves converted to Islam after diamdiam conduct research specifically related to the development of prostrate movement. In addition, movements in a quick prayer or yoga-like stretching (stretching). In essence, allows you to flex the body and blood circulation. Advantages compared to other movements are prayers in our prayer more moving limbs, including toes and hands.

-------------------------------------------

Sajdah is a unique position or stance in the regular prayers, which a Muslim is supposed to offer at least five times a day. Although the basic purpose of obligatory prayers is not to provide an exercise for people yet it is being increasingly recognized that it has plenty of medical advantages for the human body. Here it is worth mentioning that Holy Prophet Muhammad has mentioned in a hadith in Ibn Majah that prayer is a cure for many diseases. The fact is that a person who offers his prayers regularly that too in the mosque is protected from many diseases which he many not even know.

The position of Sajdah in which the forehead touches the earth is exclusively associated with the Muslim form of prayer. It is the climax of a Muslim’s prayer and as mentioned in a Hadith a Muslim is nearest to Allah in this position.

Abu Huraira (radiAllahu anhu) reported that the messenger of Allah said:

“The nearest a servant comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating himself, so make supplication (in this state)”

[Sahih al-Bukhari]

A’ishah Siddiqa (radiAllahu anha) narrates that Holy Prophet used to prolong the prostration to such an extent that one could recite fifty verses (of the Qur’an) before he would lift his head

[Sahih al-Bukhari]

In another Hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik (radiAllahu anhu) the Holy Prophet advised Muslims to perform Ruku (bowing) and Sajdah properly.

In another Hadith he advised to perform Sajdah and Bowing calmly and to get up only when the body has come to ease.

In supplication for the victory, He also performed long bowing (Ruku) and Sajdah in the special prayers at the time of eclipse. Hence the first positive effect upon a person who prostrates or does Sajdah is that he comes nearest to Allah and hence in that condition he can supplicate. This is a great psychological advantage and it gives relief to the person concerned as life is full of worries and in this position he gets at least a transient refuge from the agonizing problems. When a person goes to the position of prostration Sajdah his whole body is in active motion. This position can be considered as a mini dive as the musalli (one who offers prayer) goes to rest his forehead on the ground while his hands are placed at the sides. This brings most of the body muscles if not all in active motion and serves to give them some exercise.

The hands are then specifically stretched out and thence the forearm as well as arm muscles are supposed to bear the weight in the Sajdah position. It gives good exercise to the muscles of the upper limb. Holy Prophet in a hadith advised not to put the forearms flatly on the ground but to keep them elevated above ground and this is better for the forearm and arm muscles.

Sajdah is a unique position as this is the only position in which brain (or head) becomes lower than the heart and hence for the first time the blood gushes towards the brain with full force whereas in all other positions (even when lying) brain is above the heart when it has to work against gravity to send blood to the brain.

In the position of Sajdah due to the increased blood supply the brain receive more nourishment and it has good effect upon memory, vision, hearing, concentration, psyche and all other cognitive abilities. People who offer their prayers regularly have more will power and can cope with the difficulties of life in a much better manner. They have less incidence of headaches, psychological problems and other defects of cognitive function.

In the unique position of Sajdah the neck muscles get best exercise. They have to bear the load when the forehead lies at the ground hence the neck muscles become stronger. One can note the tense pressure at the neck muscles in the position of Sajdah specially the active motion of the neck and the facial muscles when the head is being lifted. (e.g. one inch above the ground) and it will be noticed that they are in a very active motion.

More strong cervical muscles mean the cervical vertebra will be better protected. Strength of cervical muscles is important as the head rests upon cervical vertebra supported by cervical musculature.

Infact head performs rotator movements over the cervical vertebra. In any accident cervical neck examination is especially important to the physicians because of its extraordinary importance.

It is uncommon that a person who offers his prayers regularly will get the usual neck myalgias or cervical spondylosis as the neck muscles particularly become very strong due to the 34 sajdahs offered daily in five prayers.

Position of Sajdah is also said to be a good treatment for the retroversion of uterus, a disease of women.

Most of us do not know that the position of Sajdah is an excellent exercise for men (for manpower). It may be a good information to the Viagra dependents. While getting up from Sajdah the perinneal muscles are one of those muscles which have to pull the trunk back to sitting position and they contract actively. Similarly while standing up from Sajdah the perennial muscles are again actively mobilised and this gives much strength to the muscles important for manpower.

The unique position of Sajdah also has positive effects upon the back muscles as while going into Sajdah and getting up from it the back muscle contract actively and they become stronger. Probably it is because of this reason that a person who is regular in prayers will uncommonly get backache.

After performing Sajdah either the musalli stands up or he sits to pray Attahiyyat. In this position the person sits calmly while his hands rest at his thighs which are folded backwards. This is much similar to the relaxation position of Yoga and has soothing effect upon one’s health and mentation.

Holy Prophet Muhammad used to elongate the position of Ruku (bending) and Sajdah positions and he advised to do so. In the light of the above facts it is appropriate to say that from medical point of view as well this advice is a golden rule for health.

Finally it must be reminded that prayer is not meant to be an exercise. However there are a lot of medical advantages associated with it.

Still the best blessing is the peace of mind, which a person derives by the accomplishment of his duty to Allah by fulfilling an obligation.

-----------------------------------

For thanking the Creator, for preventing a crisis, for healing sickness and diseases, for eliminating a problem, a Muslim prostrates, makes Sujood, to Allah (swt). A Muslim thanks Allah (swt) daily and regularly. A Muslim's methods of thanks and appreciations could be the minimum, saying verbally: "Subhana Rabbil ah'lah (Praise be to Allah)," (swt) or the maximum, i.e. of prostrating to Allah. During prostration, a person glorifies Allah, exalts Him, praises Him, and surrenders to Him.

Prostration is to Allah (swt) alone. No prostration is to be performed in front of any king, royal highness, president, or any other leader. Those individuals should also make sujood to Allah alone, and they should not allow anyone to bow to them or to prostrate to them. There are many medical benefits of prostration. As Muslims, one must pray five times a day. During the process of prayer, a Muslim must first stand erect; then bow forward; then prostrate on the floor where the whole body is bent; and then sit down on the floor to recite Tashahhud, Salat- Ibrahim, and other Du'as. All of these movements help the Muslims to have the least amount of arthritic problems on their bodies.

Another interesting feature of the salat (prayer) is that the course of assuming three main positions (qiyam, rukuh, and sajdah) one makes the physical shapes of the Arabic Alif, Dal, and Mim. These spell the word Adam, the name of the first created human and the first prophet (a.s.).

People are exposed daily to many different problems. They may also be exposed to many electrostatic charges from the atmosphere. These charges are affect the central nervous systems (CNS) supersaturating it. One has to rid themselves of these extra charges, otherwise, they will have headaches, neck aches, muscle spasms, etc. The best way to get rid of these extra electrostatic charges is by dissipating them and discharging them from the body. In as much as an electrical appliance is in need of grounding (or "earthing") by the use of an electric cord, a human being has to "earth" him/herself to the ground as well. By putting, his/her forehead on the ground, because the thinking capacity of the brain is in the forelobe and not the topmost portion of the brain, one dissipates the extra electrostatic charges from the brain and the central nervous system to the ground. Therefore, one will receive piece of mind and soul. By doing prayer five times a day, with each prayer having several prostrations in it, a person will undoubtedly feel more peace, happiness, and relaxation. This type of approach does not cost money and does not have any side effects. It is very natural. This is the best method for allowing a person to continue to live in peace, harmony, obedience, and happiness for the rest of his/her life.

Above all, a Muslim who performs prostration on the floor as a sign of obedience will attain tremendous rewards and blessings from our Creator, Allah Almighty.

Prostration in prayer movement not only implies a form of low self-recognition of a servant in the presence of the Almighty Creator. Not just a scraper arrogant nature, riya'', arrogant and so forth. In health, many also contain good prostration.

Goodness, among other things :

First, reduce the risk of brain hemorrhage, if there is pumping blood to the brain is strong and sudden prostration movement will reduce the risk of blood vessel disease and bleeding in the brain.

Second, Distributed blood and oxygen to the brain.

Third, Correcting the position of the fruit bowl that often come out a little from the situation due to various movements.

Fourth, adjusted for a women''s womb

Fifth, Reducing pain during menstruation

Sixth, Reducing obesity

Seventh, For women, the movement also improves breast prostration. Function to facilitate breast feeding.

Eighth, muscle movement when women perform prostrations facilitate delivery, the return of organs uterus after childbirth

Ninth, Giving encouragement to easily sleep for insomniacs

Tenth, hernia pain relief

Eleventh, Reduce pain for patients aoendiks or spleen.

The twelve, move the shoulder muscles, chest, neck and back. This movement will make the muscles stronger and more elastic and smooth circulation of blood

Inundar las veredas y los paseos,

y salvarnos, a nado, de nuestro llanto.Asistir a los cursos de antropología,

Festejar los cumpleaños familiares,

Atravesar el África,

como un cocodrilo...

si es verdad

que los cacuyes y los cocodrilos

no dejan nunca de llorar.

Llorarlo todo,

pero llorarlo bien.

Llorarlo con la nariz,

con las rodillas.

Llorarlo por el ombligo,

por la boca.Llorar de amor,

de hastío,

de alegría.

Llorar de frac,

Llorar improvisando,

Digestion tanks

The principle is that the stomach produces hydrochloric acid. This acid provides a medium for the digestion of protein by the enzyme protease. It also kills microbes that may be in the food. An excess of acid can lead to indigestion and indigestion tablets (may) work by neutralising the excess acid. The practical is also an interesting way of discussing what is meant by the best result and there are lots of opportunities to discuss fair testing, evaluating and alternative methods.

The practical is most suitable for Key Stage 3, when discussing acids, alkalines and pH. It can also be used to explore the importance of preliminary work (pH changes are only obvious when the acid is added to the indigestion tablets, not the other way around). The understanding can then help when doing science course work.

The machinery controlling the movement and circulation of the sludge within the egg, and maintained a constant temperature to facilitate the bacterial action within the steel enclosure. Methane gas, a mephitic byproduct of the digestion process, is reclaimed from the works and recycled into the mechanical works of the vast sewage mill. This foul smelling but clean burning emission is used to help maintain a critical temperature mean which is – disturbingly – the internal temperature of the human body.

New York City Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner, Joel A. Miele Sr., P.E. will preside at a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of construction on the final upgrade to secondary treatment at the Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project will bring the treatment plant into compliance with secondary treatment requirements mandated by the Clean Water Act pertaining to wastewater that flows to the plant from the surrounding drainage area.

“When the Newtown Creek upgrade upgrade is completed, all of New York City’s fourteen wastewater treatment facilities will be in compliance with federal mandates,” said Commissioner Miele. “It is a far reaching project that will contribute to the continuing improvement of the City’s Harbor environments and water quality. In addition,” continued Commissioner Miele, “this facility has been honored by awards for its commitment to the community through its aesthetic design and will also be complemented by two public art projects that will enhance the plant environs.”

The upgrade will include three new chlorine contact tanks and a chlorination building, which will permit year-round disinfection to meet standards for treated wastewater. The facility will also include seven sodium hypochlorite storage tanks, a truck unloading station, and a multi-story building, which will house personnel facilities, administrative offices, a central lab and a shop area. The designs for the disinfection and administration buildings, created by Polshek Partnership, Architects, received Excellence in Design Awards from the New York City Art Commission for the aesthetic appropriateness of their architecture on City-owned property.

In addition, two artists, Vito Acconci and George Trakas, were commissioned by the City of New York Department of Cultural Affairs,” Percent for Art Program to create public art projects at the site of the plant. Mr. Acconci created a fence treatment surrounding the plant and Mr. Tracas designed a Waterfront Nature Walkway along Newtown Creek and Whale Creek Canal.

"Pepsi was first invented in 1893 as "Brad's Drink" by Caleb Bradham, who sold the drink at his drugstore in New Bern, North Carolina.

It was renamed Pepsi-Cola in 1898, "Pepsi" because it was advertised to relieve dyspepsia (indigestion) and "Cola" referring to the cola flavor. Some have also suggested that "Pepsi" may have been a reference to the drink aiding digestion like the digestive enzyme pepsin, but pepsin itself was never used as an ingredient to Pepsi-Cola.

New Bern, formerly called Newbern, is a city in Craven County, North Carolina, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 29,524, which had risen to an estimated 29,994 as of 2019. It is the county seat of Craven County and the principal city of the New Bern Metropolitan Statistical Area.

It is located at the confluence of the Neuse and the Trent rivers, near the North Carolina coast. It lies 112 miles (180 km) east of Raleigh, 80 miles (130 km) north of Wilmington, and 162 miles (261 km) south of Norfolk. New Bern is the birthplace of Pepsi.

New Bern was founded in October 1710 by the Palatines and Swiss under the leadership of Christoph von Graffenried. The new colonists named their settlement after Bern, the Swiss region from which many of the colonists and their patron had emigrated. The flag and arms of the American city are virtually identical to those of the Swiss canton. The English connection with Switzerland had been established by some Marian exiles who sought refuge in Protestant parts of Switzerland. There were also marriages between the House of Stuart and notable people in the history of Calvinism. The colonists later discovered they had started their settlement on the site of a former Tuscarora village named Chattoka. This caused conflicts with the Tuscaroras who were in the area.

New Bern is the second-oldest European settled colonial town in North Carolina, after Bath. It served as the capital of North Carolina from 1770 to 1792. After the American Revolution (1775–1783), New Bern became wealthy and quickly developed a rich cultural life. At one time New Bern was called "the Athens of the South," renowned for its Masonic Temple and Athens Theater. These are both still very active today.

New Bern has four historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places; their numerous contributing buildings include residences, stores and churches dating back to the early eighteenth century. Within walking distance of the waterfront are more than 164 homes and buildings listed on the National Register. Also nearby are several bed and breakfasts, hotels, restaurants, banks, antiques stores and specialty shops. The historic districts contain many of the city's 2,000 crape myrtles—its official flower—and developed gardens. New Bern has two "Local Historic Districts", a municipal zoning overlay that affords legal protection to the exteriors of New Bern's historic structures." - info from Wikipedia.

The fall of 2022 I did my 3rd major cycling tour. I began my adventure in Montreal, Canada and finished in Savannah, GA. This tour took me through the oldest parts of Quebec and the 13 original US states. During this adventure I cycled 7,126 km over the course of 2.5 months and took more than 68,000 photos. As with my previous tours, a major focus was to photograph historic architecture.
